  1. Good result with the head unit! The reverse camera is very hit and miss a guaranteed way to get it working is to splice the television camera controller wiring into an RCA cable and wire that directly in but its alot of headache for little gain. Probably easier to fit the Teyes AHD camera instead
  2. Slightly more speakers and different wiring loom so they’re not interchangeable Atleast not very easily as far as I know.
  3. It is possible to get a Mark Levinson unit on a IS250C however theyre quite a bit rarer as you had to spec it out specifically to get it unlike pre facelift vehicles, you just have to spot the mark Levinson audio on the bottom of the radio / navigation unit to confirm it has it. The standard IS speakers are by no means bad so if you find a lovely convertible without it dont worry too much
  4. Best of luck! First thing to do if you get is look at the rear brake callipers ensure theyre not sticking or seized, have a look at the condition of the exhaust as these tend to perish with age and get any recalls done if any, lucky if you do have an outstanding recall Lexus will do a complimentary health check so could give you an indication of anything that may need doing. Generally as long as you service your IS250 every year itll look after you and last forever,
  5. Sorry to hear about your Diesel IS, they are lovely enough cars but are plagued with reliability issues so getting 8 years out of it was impressive enough. I own a 2010 IS250 with an auto gearbox and the tax for that I'll include below , the manuals are significant more in tax for some odd reason aside from 06. Tax (12 months)* £415 Tax (6 months)* £228.25 Insurance Group 29E Truth be told the IS is much better suited to be an auto in my opinion. The gearbox is silky smooth and the gearbox doesnt need any maintenance usually aside from 60k fluid changes if youre not a high mileage IS. F Sports and SE-L specs come with paddle shifters too if you feel like driving manual but I'd try and find an F Sport or SE-L top spec from 2005 to 2010 ideally, I picked up an SE-L top spec 09 for my mum for around £5000 mark.
  6. Hi Guys I'm selling my OEM wheels for my Lexus IS250 F sport, they're 18" and in generally good conditions but have some scuffs and kerbing as shown in the photos so they could do with a refurb. Looking for £400 ONO and its collection based in Nottingham although could potentially meet up if you're local enough
  7. MAF Sensor and Throttle body is a pretty easy to do job, just get the relevant cleaner and do it all in one go. Come to mention it I could do with cleaning mine... new filters also are worth doing
  8. I had a similar issue with my IS250, could be that the spark plugs needed changing that was my issue. Thought it was more likely a minor exhaust leak but even after addressing that it failed on the emissions til the spark plugs were changed, turns out cheapo ones were used instead of OEM dense 40k miles ago
  9. Hi mate have you got any photos?
  10. Techstream should do, this is the cable I use for it also works like a charm https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/124808047632
  11. Might be a headache but consider bringing your car down to Nottingham when you can; I dont mind trying to assist. With the reverse camera it's a 50/50 chance they even work at all but I have never been able to get the OEM ones to work on a variety of head units and models all throughout. The one full proof way of getting this working is splicing the television camera controller but it's alot more headache than it is worth imho. I have done what alot of people do and changed the camera altogether; to this end I have made a custom 3d printed bracket for Teyes AHD cameras that will fit in the exact spot the OEM camera does so itll look and feel OEM when plugged in. Let me know if you do go down this route I'm happy to share the 3D print file. https://teyes.uk/products/teyes-car-rear-view-camera-universal-backup-parking-camera-night-vision-waterproof-ahd-color-image?srsltid=AfmBOoqwn4DoorxdphzlnbRZ1igu_QPmCnQIMyAiJQXxw9LdHvYLmzmj&shpxid=2a6684b1-2082-44bf-9522-d31423fb1dfa
  12. Just confirm mate, the RCA red and white from your harness what are they plugging into, is it the front L and front R inputs or is it Aux L and Aux R in? You mentioned AUX was working only so you may need to put this into the Front Left and Front Right outputs instead,
  13. One time after driving into the city centre, my head unit wouldnt output any volume even though on the drive it was working. Im a facelift Type A vehicle I believe; only after flicking to the OEM radio with the FM button on the actual stereo and then trying Siri in CarPlay did it bring the audio back. Can't quire reproduce this but it does quite rarely happen. I imagine their could be a wiring issue if its not working altogether, theres a wiring diagram Teyes provide. You'd be better off bringing to to either myself or Ahmed to inspect as we've had experience fitting these head units before. Auto electrician may be hit or miss EDIT: Try referring to this wiring diagram Teyes provide. https://teyes.uk/pages/lexus-is250-xe20-2005-2013?shpxid=b2043ab4-fc9a-4e26-a45b-9cac4f4f25b9
  14. I think there is a setting in the original car agreement section and there is a section for sound output, try playing around with that and see how you get on. Is the OEM radio working also? I've had a glitch here and there where I have to mess around with the OEM radio and then sound output for CarPlay / Bluetooth works as expected
  15. Mechanic has confirmed thatll be the part, will drop you a private message Steve!
  16. Thanks for the heads up John, in fairness I've had a few brake issues with sticking callipers and excessive wear in the past so corroded or damage brake lines wouldnt be too surprising. I might replace both for good measure to play it safe in that regard especially as the one you've linked is £20 vs £60 Lexus are after!
  17. Amazing work Steve thanks for your investigative work! Will run it by the mechanic but seems to look good, would their be any discernible difference between a pre facelift 05 to 09 and 09 to 2012 for these? My car is a 2010 F Sport so have occasionally have slight variation of parts, perhaps I may need to take you up on building one for me!
  18. Cheers Steve, the guy at the garage mentioned it was some kind of linkage that was missing and you may need the whole assembly for it but don't know much else as far as I can tell
  19. Hi guys Hope you're good, bad timing for it but happened to have a fairly significant MOT fail with a number of issues, some are largely simple but two are causing issues with the garage unable to find parts. Hoping you guys with your expertise will be able to assist. Do not drive until repaired (dangerous defects): Offside Rear Brake hose damaged and likely to fail (1.1.12 (a)) Repair immediately (major defects): Nearside Windscreen wiper does not clear the windscreen effectively (3.4 (b) (ii)) Exhaust Lambda reading after 2nd fast idle outside specified limits (8.2.1.2 (c)) Nearside Stop lamp(s) with a multiple light source more than 1/2 not functioning (4.3.1 (a) (ii)) Nearside Rear Direction indicator with a multiple light source more than 1/2 not functioning (4.4.1 (a) (ii)) Nearside Front Electronic stability control component excessively damaged sensor linkage missing (7.12 (c)) Monitor and repair if necessary (advisories): Offside Front Shock absorbers has light misting of oil (5.3.2 (b)) The one I'm having trouble with is the Front Electronic stability control component , cant seem to find a part and neither can the local garage I took it to. And hes unable to find a brake line hose, the rest of the issues I can take care of fairly easily (My aftermarket tail light failed) so popping the the OEM back In to get it through an MOT and the lambda issue is caused by a minor exhaust leak which they can resolve. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
  20. If you are wanting a 10" Screen install better off going with the XTRONS as you will be able to get full functionality for a Navi equipped vehicle, if you try to adapt the Teyes for a non navi system to a navi system you may run into problems. I am assuming that you have a facelfited (2009+) vehicle and while it does require an additional fibre optic box you can get near enough full functionality, the only thing that wont work is the CD drive for the OEM stereo as the whole OEM stereo (the bottom section) will be bypassed. If you do want to go down this path do let me know as I can send you the custom firmware necessary to get fully working climate control and make you aware of any wiring quirks
  21. I’ve recently changed the front brakes on my IS250 with Brembo and they do not have shims, I don’t think they’re actually necessary because you can grease the front of the brake pad (where the writing is) where it makes contact with the calliper and piston with copper anti seize and this results in no brake squeal. The shims should only be necessary with OEM pads or if you opt not to use copper grease I also did suffer from the usual clunk when putting the car into reverse and replacing the piston and pads and correctly regreasing every part of the calliper and brakes correctly seems to have resolved it
  22. Aahhh sorry this happened to you bud, same thing happened to me although I was lucky and got away with a very superficial scratch on the rear bumper after going over a bump. Luckily rear silver bumpers will be a dime a dozen on eBay or Facebook marketplace so after the exhaust it should be an easy fix. When my exhaust failed I had just the blackbox sections changed at first only for a day or two later my mid pipe also to fall apart. The mechanic was a family friend who changed it for me for pennies but he did say when you disturb exhausts this far along its all bound to fall apart so it may be more sensible to get the entire exhaust changed at once. This eBay one has good recommendations https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/234890664854?_trkparms=amclksrc%3DITM%26aid%3D777008%26algo%3DPERSONAL.TOPIC%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D272231%2C272233%2C272235%26meid%3D6f6e446bd3e04eb8a09a5cde569a226b%26pid%3D101959%26rk%3D1%26rkt%3D1%26itm%3D234890664854%26pmt%3D1%26noa%3D1%26pg%3D4375194%26algv%3DRecentlyViewedItemsV2WithMLRV6RankerPricelessTop30Features%26brand%3DBM%2BCatalysts&_trksid=p4375194.c101959.m146925&_trkparms=parentrq%3A8f5b43671910a8d708ae3476fffe289e|pageci%3Af085e760-63c1-11ef-a580-ba2ab262449c|iid%3A1|vlpname%3Avlp_homepage
  23. That looks good cheers for the additional photo, will probably have to remove the door card to wire it up but atleast I won't have to disassemble the mirror again when I want to finalise the upgrade
  24. Tiger seal, very messy but bonds very well including stuff like the aftermarket logo emblems and spoilers and body parts
  25. Interesting I was under the impression I'd have to remove the entire mirror assembly from the door card, something I was planning on doing as I wanted to run some new wiring to upgrade the mirrors to a BSM ones. Would it be possible to fish some wire down into the door card when disassembled?
