My exhaust manifold has failed, has anyone swapped their manifold for headers? Was the sound improved? I'm thinking to do this.

The lexus is more to service, but nowhere near as prone to issues. I'm guessing that little servicing price bump doesn't offset the parts when they go wrong.
I dont think the lexus is more to service. I think they are a out the same price

I have had 3 series and I now have an IS250. And the 3 series was really thirsty. It was terrible compared to the IS. The is is a much better car. The IS is not particularly fast. More of a nice cruiser. But a better drive.

An update. I changed my pads and rotors, greased guide pins and no more thud in reverse.
My guess is the handbrake shoes were sticking to the inside of the old rotors, since my rear calipers weren't seized.
I had a loose caliper. I had it changed along with the bracket. Bought an original genuine one from eBay. Seems ok so far

Would there be enough room between caliper and wheel rim to fit a cover?
I have 10mm spacers on front and 15mm spacers on rear wheels

I was thinking to get my calipers painted red or just buy covers instead?
Has anyone used caliper covers? If so. Which ones are best to get?

I used to have diesels before. And one thing I always done was an egr blank and delete. I never got them issues once I done that. I know with some diesels. The rubber pipe from the radiator sometimes split which can cause that issue too. So replace the rubber pipe from radiator with a silicone version.

Jolt is back. I think the issue is the handbrake shoe sticking on one of the rear brakes.

How does the new exhaust sound?

I bought a 2010 fsport I paid 5.5k with 130k miles on it. Apart from normal services. Make sure that is done.
My car drives mint. But when I bought mine. I did a few things to it to make sure it was up to scratch

Found what the issue was. The handbrake cable was interfering with the prop shaft. So when I reversed. Sometimes the handbrake with activate, causing a thud sound. The cable was moved out of the way. To provide clearance to the prop shaft. It hasn't made that thud sound/ jolted since. (Fingers crossed)

Got the rear diff oil changed. The oil was very clean. But the magnet on the plug was filthy.
Glad I changed it.

I'm going to the garage tomorrow to get mine done

Has anyone done a differential fluid change? Does it make a difference?

Very nice Marlon, thanks for sharing! I need to buy a new sprayable wax but not sure for what to go for, I was thinking about Ceramic Coating spray either from Meguiar's or Autoglym, also Alchemy Ducktail had very good reviews in one of the car magazines.
Anyway, good job! Well done, the car looks mint!
The car was detailed and coated with Autoglym. ceramic coat I wash and wax my car every 3 weeks. I discovered turtle wax it wet, when Halfords ran out of Autoglym aqua wax. So far the turtle wax really makes the car very shiny. A ceramic coat does protect the paintwork. Then you can wash and apply wax every month to protect the ceramic coat.

Exhaust manifold
in Lexus IS 250 / Lexus IS 250C Club / Lexus IS 220D & IS 200D Club

Manifold are very expensive here. That's why I wanted to get a stainless steel headers? Bit if it decreases performance. Then I guess I'll have to go for oem manifold
