  1. If you mean that it is OK with me. All cars can drive on track. A Dyane 6 is very funny on a track. Do not get seasick.
  2. The simple: The longer the wire is, the more resistance it has. Giving larger loss of energy. The thicker the wire is, the less resistance it has. Still loss of energy but far less. The higher the temperature is the higher the resistance. Old lamps are hot because resistance in the wire heats the wire and some wires will then glow. Various materials have different resistance. Gold contacts are used for low resistance. A long thin wire has more resistance than a short thick wire. The long: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Electrical_resistance_and_conductance
  3. A hybrid is not really meant for pulling much more load than its own, but if legal and you do not mind the extra fuel and wear on the car: https://etowbars.com/uk/Towbars/Lexus/NX Not that expensive.
  4. Do not understand why you want to disable the VSC unless for track use. No Lexus cars are made for track driving anyway. With regard to resistance in cables: The longer the cable - the more resistance. Extremely simple.
  5. As long as electricity is made the way it is today the real difference between hybrid and full electric is very little if at all existing. Unfortunately, our politicians have little to no courage to change things they cannot see results from here and now - meaning they want to be patted on the back right now and care little about later.
  6. The more complicated the cars get: the more things can go wrong. Interference is very possible. More and more signals are in the air every day and even in year 2000 several Cobra keyless entry systems (very simple and reliable normally) were affected if close to transformation stations, radio & TV masts and even the old phone masts. Do not expect these interferences to go away with more and faster everything from TV transmissions getting into higher frequencies.
  7. If you consider driving faster than allowed as freedom. Want to drive fast: Do not use public roads. Several using public roads are not super drivers. You think they should never have had permission to drive. Some places they take your car if speeding. I think that is fair.
  8. Hi Phil, From you post it is not easy to know what you are really looking for. A luxury coupe: Lexus have some great, well-built and extremely comfortable cars. A sports car: Lexus do not make sports cars. Have had sports cars. They are noisy and not comfortable; no rubber bushings: metal on metal. My wife disliked them. Have passed the time when wanted to come fast from one place to another, now comfort and reliability is what we need. Have had BMW cars. Never loved one of them. Have had MB cars. The 300SEL 6.3 was comfortable, air suspension fabulous at the time, but a stupidly large car that it is impossible to find a parking place for. Smart Roadster Coupé with paddle shift was the closest to an MB factory built I liked. My mother loved the 190SL though and called it Andy Capp. Lexus cars are not bad in any way except for infotainment and navigation systems in them. The coming Genesis looks interesting and with the built quality of Hyundai they could be the next reliability top.
  9. Should somebody criminal with tools actually want to take a particular plate they just cut around and take the metal/lastic it is glued on with them.. With a cutter it would take no more time than screwing a standard plate off.
  10. Those who know will not tell you or me.
  11. I would say the main point is that if actually getting finished and functioning would be possible to produce as lithium is not something that can be made in large enough quantity.
  12. Powerful forces / easily bribed or stupidly mislead politicians can hinder many things. Still it seems that the Al-air is not a finished product yet.
  13. 1000 drivers fined daily is good for economy. Not that I have not been driving too fast, but lately I find that staying at speed limits is not a bad thing. What the point is coming 2 minutes before to destination if it cost a hefty fine is not what I think is smart.
  14. Having read the article, I find a few things speaking in favour of fuel cells. As long as oil companies are such a dominating power research in fuel cells are limited, and it is really a shame that lobbyists are able to bribe politicians to let oil money rule. Lithium is definitely a limited resource and not a solution for storing energy in large quantities. OK for life raft communication and phones and other little consuming items, but not for cars. Simply not lithium enough and sooner or later it will be too expensive to produce.
  15. Ho probably would not. But remember: If something sounds too good to be true. It just might be that.
  16. I read somewhere in the manual that the sound can be lower or higher and I think also turned completely off.
  17. We have beeps when there is a camera coming up, when a car crosses into our lane in front of us, when we change lane, when we go too fast and a lot of other times, so what they mean is not easy to understnad.
  18. Welcome. We are happy with the one we have.
  19. Norwegians are generally wealthy. I know. I lived ther a couple of years.
  20. After retiring I was cycling more than 10K kilometres yearly till I got skin cancer. I do not hate cars or drivers, though several of these should have never been allowed to drive a machine that can be dangerous. Sure, that amount of time cannot be spent while still working. Lycra is not good or bad. It is synthetic and not needed. Wool is far better but for unknown reasons far too expensive for most people to buy in good quality. With regard to democracy: It is an illusion. No such thing exists. Corruption is paid by those who rules (through lobbyists) and money rule the world. Churchill was maybe a drunk, but he was right when saying that the weak point in democracy is the intelligence of the voters.
  21. You forget one major thing: People are the ones keeping these criminal/stupid politicians ruling.
  22. Welcome. Hope you will enjoy your Lexus. We do.
  23. And Volvo is not even Swedish anymore. Only to get positive is a Chinese car. With all these established losing. Which are the new winners? Hyundai? or other Chinese cars. A friend of mine just bought a MG EHS plug in hybrid made in China. He has been in car business since forever (retired now) and he claim it is the best he has ever been driving.
  24. The one we had was a 1997 automatic. Not sure bout engine size, but faster than the CT200h. And more thirsty. It is a fine car. The ones we are missing: Nissan ZX280 and Smart Roadster Coupé.
  25. Welcome to Lexus world. Your old car looks new compared to what we had while still living in Denmark Fine cars.
