Update: When we bought the car we had a card from BP with benefits and always filled up there. Computer in car told that we use 6.5 – 6.7 L/100km with that. Engine now and then started sounding a bit rough (a few times only, really). Read somewhere, maybe here on the forum that Shell put more additives in their petrol and why not find out if there is something about that. First thing: Petrol from Shell stink a lot more like gasoline. Now after having used Shell 4 fillings computer tell consume as 6.1 – 6-2. Engine no longer sound rough, but that could be coincidence. About the computer in the car: It sure is telling something not correct. When filling and seeing how much gasoline we put on and calculate consumption, the real number is 5 – 7% higher. Do not think that both BP and Shell are filling in less than the counter shows.

New Infotainment System-US only at present
Las Palmas replied to lloydweb's topic in Lexus LC500 / LC500h Club
Too little and too late. It is now possible to buy infotainment systems to replace the ones in our cars that on paper at least are much better than what Lexus so far have made, with free update of navigation and possible DAB+. Even if the new system is as good I am pretty sure that Lexus will make both the system and the updates expensive. Lexus make good cars and Mark Levinson good audio. Software 🥵 😤 👎 -
I believe this to be correct. Here I see a lot of 220D driving around and the license plates tell they are all more than 10 years old. I have not seen one of them pushing out black exhaust even uphill (where we live it is either up or down more than 50% of the time), most of the diesels look well maintained and when looking at used cars I have so far not seen one Lexus diesel. A lot of RX, NX and of course an abundance of IS, SE and CT.

Jaguar Land Rover to develop Hydrogen Fuel Cell technology

Jaguar Land Rover to develop Hydrogen Fuel Cell technology
Las Palmas replied to Mincey's topic in Lexus Owners Club Lounge
This is a good thing that something is done to make electricity instead of storing electricity that needs large batteries which are damaging to the world to produce, which are self-discharging, in where a lot of energy is wasted. Jaguar made great things before and there is no reason to think it should be impossible to do so again. Batteries are heavy and in our very nice hybrids the batteries are too small to actually do any good. The extra weight cost extra fuel and the promised mileage from the factories making the cars is unrealistic and nothing but empty air. We are happy with our car but it is less fuel effective than the old VW 2.0tdi. I am sure that combustion engines will be made that pollute so little that batteries like in our hybrids are just waste of weight to carry around. And if/when fuel cell engines and fuel cell stations become the new norm that will be a lot better than carrying heavy batteries. Until then, we are happy with what we have. -
Hi Nikag, As ColinBarber said a functioning aftermarket navigation system would be an upgrade compared to the OEM Lexus nav. system. It really is not that good. Do not let negative comments put you out. Left hand- or right hand- drive is all allowed in this forum and you will find help from friendly people here. Like ColinBarber. He knows a lot about Lexus. Most of the components are the same just some are placed in the opposite side as some believe that right is right and left is wrong, which is of course completely non-sense. The Lexus CT200h is a great car and like everything else in this world it is not perfect so if you can find aftermarket navigation system that function it should be possible to install this in your car and Android navigation is an upgrade compared to the one from Lexus. Enjoy your car.

Rear parking sensor
Las Palmas replied to B1RMA's topic in Lexus F Club - Lexus IS-F / GS-F / RC-F Club
This is the one that has been pushed in? If so it is likely this has been damaged: I would ask Lexus to fix it as I have nowhere to take the car apart enough to get to the parts and if new is needed they will be best to get it. I hate the size of their bills, but that is what I would do. Lexus probably has an uncommon type of sensors as with many other things. I know of 3 different sensor types so which one Lexus is using is hard to know; probably none of the ones I have seen. And the thing probably needs a special colour. This is a Toyota retainer: a Toyota sensor: Searching eBay I found this for a Lexus (no mentioning of which Lexus model): You see why I would ask Lexus to do it for me? -
Rear parking sensor
Las Palmas replied to B1RMA's topic in Lexus F Club - Lexus IS-F / GS-F / RC-F Club
Hi David, Do not know the Lexus ones, but have been selling rear sensors that were put in from the outside into some other plastic part and if they were pressed in too far (only possible with intent to damage them) new were needed -

Is your Lexus your daily driver & do you have other cars?
Las Palmas replied to TKhan430's topic in Lexus Owners Club Lounge
Is your Lexus your daily driver & do you have other cars? Yes & no! -
I believe they started out with a nice clean easy to understand manual for their first car (Toyota) and then when more features were added they added pages on and instead of explaining in a simple easy to understand language - they added and added - and mentioned the same item so many places in the manual that in the end it ended up with what we have now. I am pretty sure that many of the functions of your car are mentioned several places in the manual and not in any logical place. The CT manual is a mess. Ideally they would have somebody who knows to tell how things function instead of just writing more and more. Those who know – they do. Those who do not know – they write manuals.

Most of you are in UK. Have Halfords nearby maybe. DAB+ is supposedly easy and cheap to get. https://getdigitalradio.com/ways-to-listen/dab-in-your-car/

We have the Mark Levinson in our CT200h and it is absolutely great.

Lexus IS 300H 2013 Non F-Sport Premier (Bagheera)
Las Palmas replied to HellaF's topic in Lexus Build Threads
Sweet car. Learner: Not in keeping the car looking great. One thing you do not need to tune up is the sound system. It is not a disco, but the best sounding factory installed music box. Enjoy. -

You are welcome. Have heard Bose system in a car costing 2 times the CT and that was not better at all.
