Forgot to say that the word sport does not go well together with hybrid engines of the size that is in a CT. Steering and suspension are very close to sport, brakes are good, but it takes a bit time to get to know how to use them if used to a sports car. Engine power is adequate when putting the dial i sport mode, but for less than 5 seconds, after that there is no sport in a 1.8L hybrid engine. Still the CT is firm and safe, well built and a pleasure to drive and if driving with purpose to come from one place to another it is absolutely gorgeous, quiet and excellent and with ML audio it is a concert hall. If wanting to always come first from one red light to another it is the wrong car.

If you love musik MarkLevinson audio is worth listening to. All other things are only for you to find out by testing both cars. We have a Luxury Sport (that is what they call them in Spain). What it is similar to in UK I do not know. Sun-roof, automatic seats - windshield wipers - dimming of rear mirror, keyless open and close, navigation (think it is called 13MM), park assist, rear camera and probably a lot I have forgotten. Most appreciated is the ML audio.

Do not let a single CD put you down. It could be recorded from a low quality audio source. The audio bit depth in a CD is 16. This is usually good enough for most of us. 24-bit/192kHz file has a data rate of 9216kbps. Music CD’s 1411kbps. MP3 with 320kbps is close to quality of a CD according to many. Lossless audio is as name says possible to reproduce without losing quality of sound. If reproducing from MP3 source quality is losing a lot with every rerecording. Convert a CD to MP3 in 320kb variable bit rate is OK but it should not be used to copy or transfer from the device it is on as quality will fall each time. Most of the music played when I am not alone in car is CD quality. When alone sitting waiting while wife is shopping or for other reasons alone in car I enjoy listening to jazz in 24bit quality. Files are rather large but with the price now on memory cards this is not a big problem. I prefer the .flac compression as it can be played with most audio equipment, where ALAC (Apple) is mainly limited to Apple devices. Monkey audio and the good old Wav are also lossless. doog442 Club Post Guru Never had the luck being in RC300h but really am surprised to hear this.

While some think that fuel lines will be damaged when exposed to ethanol a long time and other think it is a good thing to use it we will hardly be able to do much as governments usually listens only to : nobody! These countries are currently having E10 in their pumps and so far no mass problems seem to have come out of that. All cars made after 2005 should have engines that can run on E10 without problem as far as I have read. Living in Spain I have not yet tried it so if our CT will be good on it is not for me to say. Yet. We changed from BP to Shell (both super) and the smell of these 2 brands are very different. BP is more pleasant and Shell stink like gasoline did in the "good old days". The engine is running smoother on Shell (can only hear it when parked and the engine is recharging the battery) but every now and then (once in about 10 starts of the engine) starting sounds a bit rough (as if not battery power on the old king of, same as when on BP but Lexus here tell us that the car is absolutely fine and no problems at all, so we are not too worried about that. Us with newer cars should according to those who know not be too worried. Don't worry - Be happy!

Who winning the biggest lottery would bother if the original value of a car was destroyed if it could be driven without polluting by somebody who would love that? Not me.

John would say: Look in the manual! My manual tell me that there is 45L capacity. Ran till when it told me 0km was left and had another 10km before I found a gas station. 35 L was all that could go in so reserve after 0km must be about 10L unless the manual is not correct. I believe it is. So 35L is what you can use before you need to tank again.

First: Welcome. It is always too bad to lose money on own mistakes, but such scratches are possible to repair so they cannot be seen. We have tyres with rim protection and so far that has been enough. Another thing is the doors are pretty much low and curbs are many places high, so that is another thing to take care of. Know from experience.

Good luck keeping your driver's license. I had a couple of cars that almost got me in trouble, but luckily in a country where police is easily bribed. Does not look bad, Linus think so, but I do not. A friend of mine who is a car salesman has a Kia and he was not selling these. Should I ever win the largest lottery, I would buy an old Porsche 959 and modify the engine and tank so it could drive on hydrogen. Do you like that Linus?

RX450h navigation update
Las Palmas replied to drt's topic in RX 300 / RX 350h / RX 400h / RX 200t / RX 450h+ / RX 500h Club
If you have an eBay account I think you should ask the seller from this link: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/164327861328?ul_noapp=true He knows a lot about map updating and as far as I can find out the 15MM sould use same micro SD-Card as the 13MM. Somebody with more knowledge will be able to correct. And the platform for navigation update is the same for all systems according to Lexus International. Mail from Lexus: Dear , We inform you that these instructions, despite indicating 2007, is the same installation process for the entire range of Lexus vehicles, due they use the same platform. However, in case of assistance in your installation, I recommend you to contact to our official Lexus workshops so that they can carry out the installation. Best regards, Customer Experience That should cost you around 40 instead of a lot more than 100. I will buy from him next time instead of paying a lot of money to Lexus for the same thing. Lexus Club discount card- Acceptance

Just received a message from Lexus international. Informing me that the navigations platform used for all updates is the one they made in 2007. No wonder it is a bit difficult. Dear , We inform you that these instructions, despite indicating 2007, is the same installation process for the entire range of Lexus vehicles, due they use the same platform. However, in case of assistance in your installation, I recommend you to contact to our official Lexus workshops so that they can carry out the installation. Best regards, Customer Experience -
It must be hard to accept to have made a "design failure"

Could have been made a bit more discreet from factory, but they may think it is needed to take off now and then. Have not noticed it is the CT, but next time I go to it will have a look.

You will find out the real consume data when filling the car up and seeing how long you have been driving. The computer in our tell us consume it between 6 and 6½ L/100km but calculating tell me the computer is overoptimistic and that real consume is more like a bit over 7L/100km. But for a comfotable car with a lot of what other companies would call extras it is not bad. We are very pleased with the one we have.

Oh, what to do.

The rate Toyota is solving problems with hydrogen can make some believe that EV are not what they are expecting will continue as goal. VW named their new car IQ3 which may be the IQ level of the person in VW believing that EV is going to be here forever. -
Sorry OK. Some like what they like and you like what you like. I like a quiet car. We are not all the same.

The island is 60km diameter. Most trips are short less than 10km. Very many just to get things we need from shops and driving the little one to school (2.5km each way). One or 2 tours monthly up in the mountains about 60 - 70km total. Keeping speed limits so slow. Same driving style in both cars. The Golf had a tour to Denmark from here once a year. When we changed it to the CT the Golf had run a bit more than 200.000km. The CT: No way to get the 60mpg or 4.5L/100km many claim possible. 6.5 mostly on the computer but that is not telling the truth. When filling the tank and calculating reality is a bit more than 7L/100km. The Golf with same driver was 5.5 - 6. Lexus service tell us the car is in perfect condition and consume is normal. Before when having credit cards for petrol stations never looked at consume, but after being retired we have plenty of time to do that.

I have the Blues Brothers movie home but do not watch movies while driving.

Driving in EV mode.
Las Palmas replied to ChangeAgent's topic in Lexus UX250h / UX300h / UX300e Club
We usually get around in parking places in supermarkets etc. when driving slow (not places to go fast anyway) with EV light on. Believe Toyota knows when it is best for battery to be in whatever mode the car use. -

If miles per gallon or litres per 100km is the only thing that counts, hybrids are losing. Same driving style, same area, same driver: Golf 2.0tdi DSG 2005: 5.5 - 6 l/100km CT200h Luxury 2016 : 6.5 - 7 l/100km If pollution is interesting too: CT win If comfort is interesting too: CT win (not fair actually a 2005 vs. a 2016)

Jaguar Land Rover to develop Hydrogen Fuel Cell technology
Las Palmas replied to Mincey's topic in Lexus Owners Club Lounge
https://www.telegraph.co.uk/cars/features/toyotas-hydrogen-commitment-races-ahead/ https://www.telegraph.co.uk/cars/toyota/toyota-gr-yaris-review-sensational-special-project-takes-hot/ Naoyuki Sakamoto, the chief engineer of GR’s project division say that the power of the hydrogen combustion engines would make them good in heavy applications such as truck engines, and I think that he could easily have added ships engines as they pollute not just a little. Thing sometimes go faster these days and the engine still need a lot of refining but the more they work on things the faster they go. One thing is for sure: the problem getting enough raw materials to make all the needed batteries in order to make cars run on electricity is guaranteed to keep hydrogen combustion engines continuing to be refined. There simply is not enough raw material available and sooner or later batteries will be too expensive and as “money rules” something else will be needed. That could easily be hydrogen combustion engines. That mining the raw material for these batteries is having enormous human costs and environmental damage (making new pandemics more probable) is something that comes second to the rulers as “money rules” is first and mostly only thing that counts. -
Fantastic they need 2 different clips that look so much the same.

Thank you. Have registered and see nothing about anything that has happened in the past not even the latest service last November. Wonder what I have registered as some of it is paid service so I can download navigation maps etc. Wonder what they are going to charge. Luckily I did not inform my credit card data so without me knowing they cannot directly take anything. I hope. Tried first to log-in on the international site in English, but as soon as they got the licence registration they forwarded me to the Spanish web site.
