  1. IS200 Cars like that are the reason Lexus has a reputation among the very best. A 21-year-old/young car looked as good as the day it was sold. Just hope that the CT we have will look equally good when it is that old. The CT is a great car; comfortable as the Honda Accord Coupé we came to the island here with, and using about half the fuel, plus no yearly fee to the government for a hybrid registered just before 2017 even if Lexus here tell us, it is a 2017 model. Think the CT will be replaced by a fuel cell car before that though. Wonder if Lexus will have the same reputation in 10 - 20 years. Looking at the most sold new cars from Lexus - I doubt that.
  2. For such a beautiful I would only use either BBS or Braid wheels. https://duckduckgo.com/?t=ffab&q=braid+wheels&atb=v294-1&iax=images&ia=images Bought Braid wheels for the old MR2 Spyder. They were much lighter than factory wheels and I know a guy using them for rally so was not afraid if they were tough enough. The unsuspended weight is what matters most when it comes to handling.
  3. They know you are a bad boy. Knowing more about Lexus than Lexus is a crime. They will come after you. This is how they look at you.
  4. If you have the facilities and tools plus knowledge, I believe the chances that you will get a good job done every time will be bigger at home than with a commercial garage. Like mentioned above some things are special with hybrid and automatic that need to be made by Lexus in order to keep warranty, but a well-made, home-made service is what I would call the best thing to treat a car you intend to keep with. Not possible for those living in flats with a miniature place to park the car.
  5. If your car is from 2015 and Lexus tell you they no longer support the navigation system, something is wrong. Or maybe they do not want to charge a fortune for a micro-SD-card from Japan, when the same card can be bought on eBay for about a third? Just kidding. Lexus would never not make money. Great cars but greedy company.
  6. I believe they are. Updated my 13MM nav system here from 2016 maps to 2019/20 and Lexus charged more than 150€ for the same micro-SD-card they sell on eBay for less the 50. Contacted a seller on eBay with 100% feedback and he told me they are from Lexus/Toyota and if not functioning correct money back. Power off - micro-SD-card out, new micro-SD-card in and power on; do not remember how long I should keep power on. That is what I was told. They do not get 100% ratings on eBay if not treating customers correct. Do not know which systems IS250 have but if it is the same as in the CT which is 13MM in the one we have (registered end of October 2016 - Lexus tell me it is a 2017 model) then the maps can be bought far cheaper on eBay than from Lexus. Lexus told me there were car data on the micro-SD-card and the eBay seller told me that is not correct. Do not use the Lexus navigation, but should I want to update it I will buy new card from eBay.
  7. If a car, same model as the one you have, same colour, with your license plate on it, get caught driving very fast by one of these cameras that are everywhere, you could have a hard time convincing that it is not your car. Even if your phone tell you it was home, your phone could have been home, phones are cheap and that we are supposed to register when getting a SIM - forget it. No problem getting a SIM. Think I got a SIM with every phone I bought. Some countries take your car if driving much too fast.
  8. Used BP Ultima more than half a year (have a card there). Then whatever tank we were close to when needing juice; after that Shell V-Power 4 - 5 months. Never noticed anything different. The car runs great on whatever we have put in the tank. We stay with the V-Power for the silly reason that it smells more like gasoline smelled when I was working with MB. Put a tiger in the tank. If you go to Africa you can risk to get bad fuel. Had problems with a MB 350 SE maybe in 1982 -83 and the MB importer told us not to tank from service stations far from big cities as the fuel could have been laying waiting to get sold several years and heat in the day - cold in the night would make dew ruin the fuel. In Europe I have never heard of anything like that.
  9. I have tried several navigation systems and been told to go one-way streets wrong direction, led through the highway around Paris and end up going around twice before I saw I was same place as before, have been unable to find streets in Madrid that were not even very tiny. Why have I tried all these navigation systems? Company I worked for was selling them. Most were from China and one from Japan. Trying all these I found that Becker and Garmin were the ones that never let me down. Now Google maps are OK, but if we should go touring Europe again outside the highway’s I would take my old Garmin Nüvi with me. Placing that in the windshield and having reliable navigation is not something that bother. Google maps are excellent for walking around in unfamiliar cities; good to be able to find back to the place you parked your car. Another option is to use Google maps to tell you when to turn etc. and you can have the map from Lexus on the screen in the car. We were not happy with the Lexus navigation (2016) and thought that if we bought the 2021 update from Lexus, not just the maps would be up to date, but also that the clumsy mouse to insert destination would be updated. Paid a fortune for a micro-SD-card with the update and found out that the new streets were there but no such thing as an update to the operation system of navigation.
  10. Buy a Garmin with lifelong updates. Cheaper and better than anything Lexus can offer when it comes to navigation.
  11. The extra you have to pay for getting it is waiting in line for quite a long time. The BP tank very close to Petrotex is getting customers that are not interested in waiting.
  12. A couple of times a week I pass by a Petrotex place where they are selling 95 octanes for .987€/L. Never had the time to stop waiting for my turn as there mostly are more than 50 cars in line outside. As price for BP and Shell are above 1.3 and seems to keep climbing there surely will be even more waiting in line as long as they keep the price down. Where they get it from, I have no idea. Less then 100 meters from there is a BP with 1 or 2 filling their cars (maybe they got tired of waiting for the cheap drops).
  13. I do not think we are lucky enough to have anybody here trying to improve things outside what the forum is about. Would be proud of having her in family though.
  14. Well, this is what I am moaning about. That voters remember so little of the promises their politicians make and vote for the same scum again. That the voters accept that the most important thing is to keep economy growing, make the rich richer and accept that bacause of that the planet is falling apart is something to cry about. That some have different ideas about the necessity of keeping the planet in a state where we all can live, and wanting nothing more than living like affluent brats, and do not give a **** about coming generations, is totally up to them. They do not have my sympathy. Some of the young people protesting may not have learned to speak eloquently enough to impress, but I certainly find that it is needed to get the old politicians sent into pension before they do more harm than they have done so far.
  15. Wrong again. Thought the people choosing hybrids were interested in keeping the planet in state to live in for the next generations.
  16. And it does not go away in a standard wash. Must be removed soon by hand or the beautifully painted roof does not look so shiny anymore.
  17. Yes, it is deplorable that those who have been elected to take care of us all and the planet we live on that gives us what we need, do not care, that those who live in places where an increased water level of one meter destroys their country and will have to find another place to live, are more interested in pleasing the lobby club of fossil fuels industry, than in doing what is right. The, often mentioned 1½ degree will be met in 2030 when continuing as usual and not by the end of the century as agreed on earlier. The compensation promised to those that are being damaged by the climate change has not yet been started though 171 countries would pay to it. The gigantic amount will probably never be paid by any of the generous donors. Let's all become ostriches, bury our heads in the sand and hope the problems will just disappear. If we do not tell our leaders they must act I a way they understand we are all guilty. If it is better that many can live in abundance and comfort on the expense of ruining the habitat of others, it should be mandatory to offer those who will have to move at least as good a place as what they come from, so they can live like they are used to. Greed and foolishness are terrible things, but hypocrites always come up with excuses to do what is easiest and most profitable for themselves.
  18. Absolutely. The voters will be unlikely to have developed more brain in the meantime. Most of them know they are being cheated and they are so used to it that they accept it. Vote for the same scum again. The same mis-leaders (or similar) will attend next year continuing doing what they have always done: Nothing good for other than themselves. The more we can get from the lobby organisations without being caught getting it - the better.
  19. Fresh vegetable from supermarket where it is a week or 2 old before coming to the shop. Fruit that has been picked before it is ripe and has become more or less eatable on the way from far away to the country it is being eaten in. Meat from an ox, that actually is an old cow no longer giving enough milk. Tap water that is filtered and thus clean enough to not make you ill. Or: Potatoes taken out of the ground at sunrise and being sold before midday, fruit that is on the trees till it is ripe and ready to eat. Meat from an ox slaughtered the day before you buy it. Natural mineral water coming out from springs in the mountain. Coming from civilization and now living where food is more natural and climate is friendlier makes it hard to understand many of the things we used to live with. But it makes it easy to understand why a lot of pensioners are living here. Oh, I forgot. This is the forum where we are moaning, so let me start: A lot of countries have now agreed that they will stop using coal, yes, they stopped before, but that is still something to worry about for those living from selling coal. Those that are still using coal can continue like before. Electricity is becoming very expensive and some are no longer able to use washing machines and tumble dryers, later maybe also refrigerators. Why? Because electric cars are using all the electricity there is and driving the price up after advice from our intelligent politicians, that have just finished a meeting with the biggest lobby group. Fossil fuel industry.
  20. Also replaced interior lamps with LED and they sure are brighter. Wife say they look awful and make the comfortable car look like an operation room on a hospital so was told to reverse. Must admit that she is right.
  21. Welcome to the forum. Nice car.
  22. Try to open for internet sharing for bluetooth on the phone.
  23. Today a really great guitar had me turn up volume a bit (alone in car) Uriah Heep : Salisbury. Last track.
  24. Hi Russell, Just loaded contacts from a new Android 11 Samsung phone. Turn on Bluetooth on Android phone - Go to mobile hotspot and internet sharing - Turn on Bluetooth internet sharing. (An old Android 7 phone transfer contacts immediately without the need for turning on internet sharing over Bluetooth) In the car - Go to settings - Bluetooth – Add your phone for calling and if you want add it to audio. We have similar cars so it should function.
