Prototype EV Battery gives 750 mile Range

Hopefully, but maybe long range is more important than those batteries lose power over time. -
Prototype EV Battery gives 750 mile Range
Las Palmas replied to NemesisUK's topic in Lexus General Discussions
The biggest problem is that there here on earth are not enough raw materials to get even 25% of cars, vans, busses, trucks drive on battery power. Not material to make the batteries, not enough electric power to charge all these. There is nothing in EV cars that will help the planet. But who cares? It is only the lives of following generations, our children and their children we are ruining. EV is stupid politicians dream given to them of lobbyists hired by battery car makers. Who cares? We let the same stupid politicians' rule again next election. Battery life: Overcharging? Manufacturers of Lithium-Ion batteries recommend to keep charging between 20 and 80% of capacity to keep the batteries last longer. -
That is what I meant with info not really of any use for driving safe.

What is Gracenote? I mean more than wasting time with information not needed in order to drive safe.

If the design of your product is often copied you can take it as compliment / recommendation of your design. The design of the CT has since 2010 been replicated by so many car factories that it must be one of the best designs. Latest is the A type from Mercedes hard to distinguish from a CT and nor many major companies are without a model that come close to the shape of the CT.

Have both heated seats and windscreen, not needed here, but seat heater does function. Turned it on to try it and really not needed here. MPG on the old VW golf 2.0tdi DSG were not much worse than on the CT. We drive short tours. But the diesel engine when never really get the exhaust cleaned in daily driving, so I needed 20 minutes full power to clean the exhaust before passing MOT. Diesel engines are not for shorter tours. Pure EV is for those having charging station home and not for those who should charge outside. I believe that price for electricity will go so much up that it could be expensive to fill the batteries if not having solar powered supply home. Plug-in hybrids are carrying both a heavy battery and an engine so on longer tours MPG will suffer. I am waiting for hydrogen filling network as batteries are no good in cold climate and efficiency go downhill with years passing.

When driving faster than 50km/h engine is working most of the time. When temperature seldom is below 20 degrees Celsius, heating is no problem here, AC is running permanent. There is no driving on hybrid battery alone more than around 100m. EV light up when on battery and we usually see it when driving around in parking lots in commercial centres looking for a space to park; easy to find parking space for small cars. Very fine not to pollute inside these garages.

Ride quality is harsher than a Citroën DS, but hardly harsher than a car with run-flat tyres. Wife has not mentioned poor ride quality and she has been used to MB350SE and Honda Accord Coupé. Driving experience is something that can be discussed seen from different points of view: Steering is excellent (probably better than the old LS) but if driving experience is based on raw engine power you will find many cars with more powerful engines which can give you speeding tickets in first gear (had a MB350SEL 6.3 – company car). I find the driving experience in the CT just sufficient and am eagerly waiting the stupid virus situation to become so unimportant that we can drive from Cadiz to visit family in Denmark in the CT. If you love music get one with ML audio, cars costing 3 times more have inferior audio from factory. We drive very little, shopping etc. and have the car serviced yearly and the battery is then warranted another year. Some get service made other places or do it themselves and pay 65€ yearly to have the hybrid battery warranted. In UK I have read it is 15 years. Lexus here tell me only 10. So far no problems with the car and only expenses are gasoline, service and tyres (where we live mineral water is sufficient and we do not need chemical sprinkler liquid).

Come on John. Is this a forum for old people who wants to be left quiet, or a forum for mostly older people who sometimes need advice? If battery is from 2013 it has been doing a good job until now. Could be time to replace it.

Manufacturer refurbished Toyota's
Las Palmas replied to Shahpor's topic in Lexus General Discussions
It is a way to keep selling cars, when they cannot get the computer parts etc. to make new cars. Old spare parts are in stock already so Toyota can make good profit selling that kind of "new" cars by getting rid of used cars and not sold spare parts. -
You are not alone with that. Would like different navigation from smartphone, but realize that what we have is sufficient. Music played from phone via Bluetooth is OK, from AUX in better. We keep the car the way it is.

I thought it was just a reminder to tell you to fill in more when "WASHER FLUID LOW" comes up. As long as windshield can be kept clean I have problems seeing that it should be a problem.

Rubber seal in door / window not installed correct, door not closing correct? Cabine should be the same for all CT after the update in 2014 - or am I wrong. Does the F-Sport have different anything except engine and suspension? All CT of newer date should be same. Please correct me if I am wrong.

Yamaha hydrogen engine based on 2UR-FSE
Las Palmas replied to Linas.P's topic in Lexus F Club - Lexus IS-F / GS-F / RC-F Club
Smart Roadster has a little MB turbo engine that last close to forever if treated correct. Run warm before using the turbo power. In cold weather it takes a bit of patience. The RX7 engine has same problem if oil is not hot before demanding full power from it and oil takes longer time to get hot than water in the Smart. Some of the rotary engines (no longer using the name of the inventor ) did last long time, but many of the owners of them did not wait pressuring them till oil was warm enough and able to lubricate the seals well. I believe those handling the drones know how to treat the engine so it does not get problems. If the rotary engine was not reliable, I am sure it would not still be used in drones. Did you have problems with the engine? -
Next question: What kind of issue?

Been living here since 2005 and never been there. Live up north where climate is fine all year, no need for heater or air-condition home. Around 21 degrees Celsius all year inside. South where all the tourists are, I only come to pick up family and drive them back to their hotels again. It is too hot there for me.

How about a ****el rotary hydrogen powered engine? ****el engines are extremely reliable; if treated the way they should be treated. They would not be used in military drones if that was not so. Heat problem is a thing of the past with the new air cooling Sparcs. UAV engine. ****lel engines have few moving parts, are more powerful than piston engine same size. The fuel consumption problem in ****el engines is due to the ignition time of gasoline, but hydrogen does not have that problem. I have had the powerful engine cars I need and now I only care about being transported from where I am to where I want to go. Speed is less important than comfort. Also, not polluting more than absolutely necessary is something that I did not think about before, like I suppose most of us here. For those of you that do not yet feel that way about speed, ****el with hydrogen could be a way to get a small in size and big in power engine in your cars. What is wrong with the name of the rotary engine made in Germany since it is replaced with ****el? It is used in Mazda RX8 and now in new RX9. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mazda_****el_engine -
There is a link to a CT200h but an older model without ML audio. https://motrade.nl/data/mediablocks/Lexus%20CT200h%20uibouw%20radio.pdf

I have been looking for an Android same as you, but all I have found is some not recommended by anyone. Some here in the forum have built in and none have so far told that it does function more than partially. That is not good enough for me. Expensive, lots of work to install and not function is not something that seems good for me.

Combustion engine with pure water from exhaust. Sound of an engine. Who would not like that? "Only fools and horses" Why is Elon selling his stock? -
On Android you can disable location. On iPhone you can close it.
