  1. Who care about diesel. We have a hybrid. 98 octane, lead free. 😂
  2. I read that Churchill said the problem with democracy was intelligence of the voters. Sorry I forgot where I read it, but it is something I do not disagree with.
  3. Close, but only close Vladimir. They do not fall victims. They are opportunists and have the opinion they think gives them best possibility to keep the reasonably well paid job. As soon as they think another opinion give better chances for re-election or popularity they get a new opinion.
  4. You are in the right forum. Sure some of the things most people here are writing are right and like any other place some things many does not think are right. Yes some, maybe many politicians are just having a job and have one opinion till it is profitable to have another. Not much we can do about it anyway, just like it is unfortunately not up to us to change the situation in the world, where price for fuel to us poor car owners climb steady. Here again 5 centimes since yesterday, but lucky for us living here it is cheap compared to the rest of Europe. 1.52 / litre. Euro. 🙂 - Shell V-power 98. Still having a full tank. Will probably be more expensive next time it needs fuel. Always look at the bright side of life. We have fine cars, get food every day so let us be happy. Complaining will do us no good anyway.
  5. We also are happy with the one we have and hope to be able to keep it till we can have a combustion engine car fuelled with hydrogen. If such a car has a range of 200 - 300 miles and there are filling stations enough this would be a fantastic thing. Hydrogen i dangerous: yes. So is gasoline and most other fuels. Long live the CT.
  6. Same as here: 5 centimes up since yesterday
  7. Are the exhaust not made of stainless? Should last lifetime of the car if they are. Had one made in Sweden on a Porsche 199X something and last time I saw the car (not many years ago) exhaust still looked new (rest of the car did not).
  8. Today filled the car: 1.42€ Super V 98 Shell. Last week: 1.31€ Super V 98 Shell. Next week:
  9. Once had an air freshener in the ventilation and something happened that let the liquid out and it ruined the plastic below air-vent. Long time ago. Not in the Lexus. Had it sprayed in the beginning of the virus situation. Could not use the car for a couple of days. Left with open windows till the smell was gone.
  10. Drive here is not for EV owners without own charger. In supermarkets there are few chargers and I have seen people trying to charge without luck. Gasoline stations have no chargers. At least I have not seen any and I refuel weekly.
  11. Getting rid of old no longer productive windmills are a problem and even our tiny AA and AAA need being returned to special places will make it interesting to see how / if the no longer effective batteries will be disposed of / recycled.
  12. I thought it was the red queen in Alice in Wonderland doing that.
  13. Welcome to the forum. We have had https://llumar.com/na/en/automotive/window-tint/clear/ installed for having 99.9% UV protection. They have from almost completely clear to extremely dark.
  14. Your car is proofing that they last 10 years, Ever had problems with the hybrid battery?
  15. Treat them well and some will still be around in 20 years.
  16. 25 Feb The DGT installs the first intelligent anti-fog beacons in News by @applus Fog is one of the most dangerous atmospheric phenomena for driving. On the one hand, it considerably reduces the visibility of drivers, and on the other, it forms a slippery layer that increases the braking distance. To improve road safety in these conditions, the DGT has installed a pioneering anti-fog intelligent beacon system in Europe in one of the most critical sections of the State road network: a half-kilometre section of the A-8, in the Cantabrian highway. The installation of the intelligent anti-fog beacon system after its pilot phase This new anti-fog smart beacon system has been tested for the last four years. Now, after the pilot phase, the DGT has presented its final version, which includes more beacons and a higher intensity light beam. The presentation of this intelligent system of beacons has been carried out in an act that has had the participation of the delegate of the Government of Galicia, José Manuel Miñones, and the deputy director of Mobility and Technology of the DGT, Jorge Ordás, among other personalities. How does the intelligent anti-fog beacon system work? Smart beacons act as a "beacon" in foggy situations. Drivers can be guided by pairs of light beacons placed in both directions, one on the central reservation and the other on the hard shoulder. The lower light of the intelligent beacons, in amber, indicates the permanent layout of the road, while the upper light, in red, warns of the passing of a vehicle to alert the driver behind and reduce the risk of rear-end collision. This new intelligent anti-fog system will avoid having to “manually” divert traffic onto conventional roads, which is where 75% of fatal accidents in Spain are concentrated. The color classification of fog conditions As with snowfall, Traffic has a color classification for foggy conditions. Green: means that there is a visibility of 120-250 meters. Yellow: visibility is 65-120 meters and the speed limit is added to 80 km/h. Red: the fog does not allow to see beyond 40-65 meters and, in this case, the maximum speed allowed is 60 km/h. Black: when visibility does not exceed 40 meters, in which case the road is closed to traffic. According to provisional data from the DGT, in 2021 there were 324 accidents with victims in foggy conditions, resulting in 13 deaths and 487 injuries. Although this system of intelligent anti-fog beacons is implemented in all risky sections, at Applus+ we remember to exercise extreme caution when driving in foggy situations, not only because of reduced visibility, but also because of increased braking distance. To minimize the consequences in the event of an accident due to fog, do not forget to keep the safety elements of your vehicle, such as tires, lights, fog lights and seat belts, in perfect condition. Above is translated by Google. Sorry, too lazy to do it myself.
  17. They do not. The service personnel drive to the patients homes to help them. Are you as able to read as gooseoom?
  18. That is correct. It is not only the thin ozone layer that cause skin cancer, but it is part of it, maybe a major one. Wind-shields on most cars are UV protected. The protection in the CT is more than 99% (have a measuring device); the side windows in most cars have no more UV protection than ordinary glass (very little or close to no protection) so many truck drivers have skin cancer in the arm that is exposed to sun. We have UV protective filter in all windows except the wind-shield in the CT, even in sun- / moon-roof. Toyota know of the problem and have been mentioning adding UV protection in all windows in 2000, but the CT which is made many years after that (2016) only have well protected wind-shield. Side windows have better protection than the VW Golf 2005 we had before but not enough to call the car UV safe. UV is not only damaging skin, but also other parts inside the car, leather, plastic etc.
  19. The people driving round helping sick or old or otherwise needing help from nurse or other kind of help are hardly abusing the cars they are given to use. Start work, drive to first patient help 30 - 40 minutes put on warm clothes again go out in a cold car drive 5 - 15 minutes to next patient. Warm / cold / warm etc. is not fun. I was told this from a family member who is sending health personnel to patients and keeping eye on the fleet of electric cars. It was easier when the cars were not electric. I was told that after 3 years batteries would not keep charge enough for the 7 hours and they were not driving 100km. Where did you get this quote : "abusing it" from Eric? Not from me!
  20. Who would waste time on you? Not me.
  21. Most of them VW Up.
  22. Tell that to the government that bought the cars to be used driving less than 100km in a 7 hour period.
  23. 3 years and they cannot be used a full 7 hours shift for service personnel in a country where the users want to have a warm cabin and a heated seat. I know you are EV fanboy and that is cool for you. Why not. Some are naive enough to believe all politicians tell them.
  24. The health care service people driving round have been doing that in gasoline cars before. Batteries are not good for keeping a car warm when it drive from patient A to patient B and the distance often is few km. Do not use seat heating, do not use cabin heating. Put on warm clothes and then go in to a patient laying in a rather warm place and go out again into a cold car is something that keep the health care personnel healthy. NO? Batteries are being destroyed when being express charged constantly and you can take off your tin-foil hat or stop pretending you know something.
