The engine in our Golf was no way noisy only dirty. Do not understand the "ev all the way". In EV mode a CT does not drive longer than a few hundred metres except when driving downhill.

It is a thread about whatever is being written in it. Yes tyres are what connect you to the road. Different driving styles demand different tyres. On all cars up to the Lexus we have had Continental. Next tyres will probably be Yokohama Advan Fleva V701 - 67db low noise - good for summer, which we have all year. But red calipers look great as do ventilated brake discs. Adjustable shock absorbers. Long time since I had such.

Very nice car and extremely good service from the seller. Wish Lexus here was that good. No courtesy car when they keep ours more than 24 hours for service due to not foreseen circumstance.
-
Your Lexus may have much more insulation than the CT. And still: 3db is twice as much or half as much noise, which is a lot. Even in the better insulated cars. Outside as well as inside.
-
Think your question was about new tyres with little noise. We all need new tyres now and then and I started looking. Privileged as we are here where we live, I did not look for all-year tyres but for all tyres. Filtering after noise I was surprised that among the tyres with the least noise were only summer tyres. Add a decibel or 2 and Michelin come in with there so highly priced here in the forum CrossClimate. I am going to see if I can find the Yokohama Advan Fleva V701 here as temperature here is always above what is OK for summer tyres. For people living further north I understand why all-season tyres are popular. Economy is C as best for all tyres I have seen, handling in rain seems to be easy for most of the tyres to get an A rating. The problem seems to be getting a tyre that is quiet. 1 or 2 decibel is a real difference as 3db equals doubling of sound.

To flush or not to flush?

If the quality of the materials in the gearbox from Lexus is in far superior compared to all other gearboxes and the oil is likewise better than any other oil on the market then maybe service interval should be more than double of the same in all other cars from all other brands. As engine oil needs to be changed more or less like on all other cars, above mentioned seems little likely. A hybrid car will have the engine running less than a full combustion engine car, but still needs regular oil change. Gearbox oil is not having such a hard life as the engine oil, but few will believe in the fairy tale that gearbox oil never needs to be replaced. When the salesperson tell that the oil will last for the life of the car, it may be right. Most of us do not have a car much more than what Lexus think is the lifetime of a car and should a gearbox need to be replaced when the car is 15 or more years old, not many of us believe Lexus will cover that. The right oil, the right filter, the right treatment is what any car need and Lexus make some of the best cars. So, if we want to keep our cars longer than Lexus want us to, we must take care of them. Lexus want a good reputation, but do not forget: Lexus also want to sell new cars. -
Quietness is indeed destroyed of the roads we drive on (most of us). Extremely durable were Continental we had on a big heavy Mercedes while living in Africa with mostly non-paved roads. 50K kilometres and not a flat. Unfortunately they do not make quiet tyres. The tyres on our CT are also Yokohama and on the few good roads they are quiet enough to hear music without destroying our ears, but unfortunately good quiet roads are few.

No. Have not seen anything like that on screen. After refuel been driving 65km and being told I have 500km of fuel left in tank (doubt that) plus consume in city is about 5.6L/100km.

Any setup with Lexus software is giving the opposite experience than you have (and should have) when comparing to Lexus hardware. Lexus has been one of the best options to get a reliable car, but never had software that could match it. ML audio is fantastic, but do keep the settings in neutral as Lexus cannot do anything correct when it is about software. Want to change sound do that in the source. For most of us it will be a smartphone through Bluetooth.

Hi Steve, if you want all to be able to see your pictures, insert them in .jpg or .png format. Can be read from any computer, not only Apple/MAC.

With all the dust on the filter in our car (I cleaned it just after a 60000km service having read about it here in the forum) I think it should be there; or the dust will continue it's way to the hybrid battery.

I have one in the back almost constant. First a full-size seat: Now only a little seat with a hook to keep the seat belt on shoulder and not around the neck.

I find it a stupid place. Inside the cabin where passengers with coats, children with toys could block it is not the smartest place for air intake.
-
We are also very happy with the one we have and that it is costing more in fuel than the VW Golf 2.0tdi DSG is what it cost to have more comfort and a less polluting car. When going uphill here the Golf was blowing black smoke out of the exhaust and before MOT/TÜV I had to drive 5 - 10 km with high revolutions on engine to clean the exhaust system to get car through examination.

Do not know where the switch telling the can-bus that the bonnet is open is, but as UK is a country with rather a lot of water coming down from above, it could be the same problem as Citröen, Peugeot and probably other brands have had in northern countries. Ground (negative connection to car body) was placed in front of the car where water is splashing from driving on wet roads (and in winter also salty water) causing corrosion and thus lacking contact to body of car. Had a Peugeot Rally where whole instrument cluster was blinking and telling that something was wrong.

Keep searching Andy. You might find more interesting things in the car. We had our little car a long time now and found out that Lexus here does not clean the air filter for the hybrid battery when servicing it. Right side of rear seat. Easy to take out and clean, but it must be done. Also make sure air intake is not covered. Another thing they do not change when servicing is cabin filter in glove box.

Transmission is always in D. The terrain in the first 150km are a bit more than mixed many places. The Pro-teams driving Tour de France come here in winter to get mountain km in the legs. For the 469km I filled in 34.54L to be full again (7.3L/100km). Always fill up complete as I am too lazy to drive extra economic with only little fuel and may trips to fuelling places (less weight is less consume) so when the car tells me to fill up again I will do that. If only driving around to shop and take my little one to karate and school it will take more than a week. No hurry. Car tells me there is fuel for 600km, but I doubt that. At 469 there were no more km left according to the display. I do not drive faster than permitted but follow traffic (even when traffic is a bit faster than permitted) so the other driver do not start honking horns. Usually I am in no hurry as here it is normal to be late. 😇 Gasoline price is still not going down, but climb only little.
-
Full tank drive 150km in mountains - consume 8.1L/100km. Drive 300 km in city now it shows 7.1L/100km. Filled tank till I could see the gasoline and pressed reset. Next time filling fuel will inform. Usually only drive in city. Live around sea level, some shops are 250m above sea level, so city is not flat like in some pancake countries. I used to live in Denmark and Himmelbjerget (the mountain to the heaven) is maybe 130 m above sea level and highest point in that country. That is a pancake country.

How to check my lexus car service history for free of cost?
Las Palmas replied to Claraerisma's topic in Lexus CT 200h Club
Lexus/Toyota is now behind Hyundai when it come to new taxa cars. Prius was number one taxi to find here and still a lot of them, but looking at the registration plates most of the new are from Hyundai. When a car is good for the taxi drivers it is not bad. Lexus was too expensive, but Toyota with most Prius, Auris and some Corolla are now losing to Hyundai Ioniq, most hybrid but several electric too. How a pure battery driven car can be good as a taxa is not for me to understand; to make money they are supposed to drive several more kilometres as day than capacity of a battery has. -
Samsung (Note4 + S8 + A71) connect with Bluetooth without problems. Connect with line-in from all 3. Never used USB so far as mostly just listen to music from the phones. Also function perfect for communication (Bluetooth). In our car the power out from the USB socket is too weak to fast-charge the phone.

The extras are more than several thousands. All depend on your needs, wishes and maybe first of all: budget.

Hybrid batteries should last between a long time and a very long time depending on how they have been treated. The 2017 model we have (registered end of 2016 (model years are usually starting after summer holiday from most car factories)) supposedly has a perfect hybrid battery according to Lexus here. 8 bars shown on battery when parked in garage Friday afternoon will still be 7 - 8 bars Monday morning. Premier (Luxury in some countries) has so many comfort things compared to lower models range that we are very pleased with all the extras and I am most pleased with the audio from Mark Levinson. What I would buy may be different to what you are looking for in a car. The CT is an excellent little car with good room for 4.

She is not cheap. Writes incredible texts for her music. This is a car for a rich person - no matter if some say she looks cheap.
