Could be a dirty read head in the DVD. Cheap try out is to insert a CD/DVD cleaner disc and see if that help. this is the read head for a DVD/BD reader - a CD reader will only have one grey eye. Just a little dust or dirt on the lens and it will not read well.

Seems you experience with Lexus is not good at all. Since the Japanese management left the island here Lexus/Toyota has similar poor service where I live. Maybe Toyota should start getting Japanese management back to take care of handling their cars so reputation could come back where it once was. Or maybe they do not care as they are so big they make money anyway. Maybe call Lexus international. South Korea seems to take over the good reputation that once did belong to Japan.

Probably is some kind of construction error, that they have noticed there could/have/would come problems with. Why else would the later models not have the nicely hidden monitor, but instead a steadily visible one?

And a pro tyre workshop would be able to find that as well. I thought all Lexus cars had tyre pressure sensors.

Go to a pro tyre workshop and have them close the little hole that probably is in the tyre. When checking our tyres once ever week or less all 4 have close to same pressure and instead of 1.3 have 1.25 or similar. It could of course be a little defect in the rim, but a pro tyre workshop will be able to find that as well. I use Lexus to keep warranty on the hybrid battery.

When driving slowly on narrow streets that rarely have cars driving round and pedestrians walk just in front of me I would like to have a little noise telling that a car is coming. Do not want to honk the horn to frighten people, but a little noise like the sound of an engine would be just fine. I have not heard the sounds of the cars mentioned here as I mostly am inside a car but I think it is a good idea to have a little noise to tell that a car is approaching. With windows closed I doubt that the noise will disturb people inside the car.

New tyres are a headache. Want most quiet, longest mileage, best fuel economy, best braking in wet and dry and if possible, not very heavy. Search and you shall find: Nothing! These tyres are not existing. Compromise. When we retired, we started looking for tyres with good fuel economy. Until we got the CT we never cared about noise and always had Continental on our cars. They last forever (or till we changed car) and perform excellent. What now? Know too little about car tyres. Much more about bicycle tyres. Schwalbe for downhill, Maxxis for X-cross and Continental for a street bike (which I do not have). With the ML audio and the mostly quiet car I started to look for silent tyres. For guys with the probably much more refined bigger Lexus models, that which I suppose are much more sound-insulated than the CT, noise is probably not that much of a question. Maybe it is stupid to look for the quietest tyre as different road types make different noise and most roads here make a lot of noise. Some new roads are rather silent, so maybe best going into politics (or know some that are and influence them) and see that the new roads are being built or repaired in the material that make the roads quieter, whatever that is. New tyres are a headache.

That could be a reason for Lexus to claim such a horrible price. Then it is not just to change a micro-SD-card. Do not know where the navigation system memory is then. Maybe somebody else having a car like yours can tell more. I thought that after the facelift all navigation system were the same. Use a smartphone for navigation. Always updated for free plus functions a lot better. I will update when 2023 map is available but that is only 20 - 40€ on either eBay or Satnavishop. Just to have the latest road changes. Do not really need navigation system or map here on the little island where we live. Have been most places on mountain bike so know the island very well But your car is less than 4 years old so it should be something Lexus should do either free or at least cheaper.

Welcome to the forum. Lexus make great hardware and I am sure you will be happy with your car. Navigation is like you mention not exactly perfect. Your smartphone will have a much better navigation system. No matter if you have the premium pack. If you also have the Mark Levinson audio system you have one of the best places to listen to music. We have maybe all the options, but navigation system sucks. Lexus software user friendliness is not up to date. They either have had it made to Japanese road system or given up trying to make it to anything; here you have to tell the navigation where you are: first country, then city, then postal code etc., etc. till you get tired and find your smartphone and get the direction immediately. The map on the screen is good though, showing you where you are and when listening to music it can tell you a lot of things about what you are hearing. Somebody else may be a little more positive with regard to the navigation system in our cars, but using the mouse like pad to navigate in the software takes some time getting used to and I find it will never be really easy and user friendly. Enjoy the car, we are happy with the one we have.

Lexus here has nothing of the kind. They are good only writing big bills. Did not clean filter to hybrid battery last service when giving the battery one more year warranty. Next service September may be last with them. They cannot get rubber refills to wind-shield wipers only complete with metal and I find it stupid to put perfectly good metal out as landfill. I know they want to make as much as possible, but should take a bit care of the environment. I thought Mercedes service here was bad, but now have seen that Lexus is no better. 15 years ago there was Japanese management here and service was extraordinary; had a MR2 Spyder then. Now it is no longer taken care of same way. The CT is great and will probably last a while so will keep it till problems come with it, but think next car will be Korean. Have heard that their service here on the island should be fantastic. Both Hyundai and KIA.

Not really sure what you mean with chose a 4A charger. The built-in USB in the car has no such thing in it. There are 2 USB connectors and none of them have power to charge a phone. Do you mean I shall change the fuse to the USB? Do not believe there is a separate fuse for that.

Did Lexus have real leather in 2004? The one we have has something synthetic they call leather, which it is not.

Cruise control is only better with no other cars on the road. When a car drive in front of you, your car will brake automatic and then need more fuel to get back to the speed it was before.

Lexus have extreme prices for simple things. Maybe they have so few repairs that they need a lot for the ones they get in. Company I worked in then was selling HID light systems when that was the new thing, and we were promised they would last a very long time, but then again 8 years is pretty long time. A HID is to change like any other bulb. Do not touch the glass! The ballast should not need to be changed. All HID have very good light output so to increase that would be going too far in my mind. Replace with similar.
