Never. Just tried all buttons in the car and this one has 3 positions and in the middle when at the same time the mirror choose side button is on the drivers side position it close and open and point the mirrors down when in reverse, and show normal behind the car when driving forward or parked. It take while to find out all functions and the possibility to read through a clumsy and stupidly written manual is not what I prefer. To find a picture in the manual when you know exactly what to search for is not even easy. Write a manual in Japanese - translate it through Google and you get such a stupid manual as we have. As good as Lexus is when it come to reliability and hardware as poor they are when it come to software and documentation. Just look at the navigation. Completely impossible to use. They should have bought help from Becker or Garmin to make navigation system. They bought help from Mark Levinson to make an excellent audio system (recommended by Paul McCartney - see "Motor of love"), why they cannot do similar about navigation is just so stupid that it is not to understand.

I cannot answer the question you ask better than who asked “to be or not to be”. But can tell you about why we did choose a Lexus CT. We were looking to replace our old and rather well-kept VW Golf 2.0tdi DSG as it was from 2005 and was fuming black out of exhaust when accelerating. My wife saw a CT and said she liked the look of it and then we bought a Luxury; with all the nice things in it and what I appreciate the most: the Mark Levinson audio. Took less than a week to really be happy with that choice. Smooth driving, comfortable and rather noiseless (low noise). Do not know if you live in a flat or mountainous area, but if a flat you will get good fuel economy if not driving with a heavy right foot. If you live in a place where the hybrid battery will be full while you still drive down hills a lot of the regenerated energy will be wasted. Ask me how I know. The car has only had service when needed (once a year) and only windshield wipers have been changed other than the usual oil and maybe filters. Gasoline and windshield washer fluid also. Correct air pressure is important for fuel economy. Rather slightly high than low. Air pressure we control when remember, and it keeps air pressure better than any car we have had before (more than 20 probably even more than 30); biggest car we have had was a MB 300SEL 6.3, most funny car was a Lancia EVO 2, smallest car we have had a Smart Roadster Coupé. Reliability of the Lexus cars are high. Even the interior of the smallest of Lexus has nice, soft, durable, high-quality materials in it. Perforated soft and durable (2016 car seats still look new) Vegan Leather (loved by Paul McCartney, he made a song called “Motor of love”) and never hot even here where we live. When we care here, we brought our Honda Accord Coupé with real leather seats and they were very hot here, close to not nice. The CT has the very best audio we ever had in any car: Becker, Nakamichi, Pioneer, Sony, the factory built-in was never good. A family member has a nice big Porsche and the expensive audio in the very expensive car is not as good as The Mark Levinson in the little CT from Lexus. When McCartney like it, it cannot be bad, he knows something about sound. Also, a lot of comfort things, too long to list, have already written enough. As said before, if you should hybrid or not hybrid only you can find out. We did not choose to hybrid; my wife loved the design of the car and we are happy with it.

Our car is the tiny little CT. Smallest of all from Lexus. The leather in it has nothing to do with leather, but that is what Lexus call it. Supposedly Paul McCartney loved the name Vegan Leather and he made some music to praise the cars. Had Leather in our Honda Accord Coupe. Real leather. When we changed cars from the Honda it also looked pretty good. Very thick, but still comfortable except it was not perforated and ventilated, so a bit hot in summer. Never had a Volvo with leather seats so have no idea what quality they are.

For that price you can get a micro SD-card here on 128Gb, plus what I think is most important you do not get any navigation system that is freely updating without a smartphone. I just read what was asked for first: Are there any decent cheap non-Apple Ipod portable MP3/music players

USB sticks cost more than memory cards, but that way you do not need the phone. Also will not get the free navigation maps automatically updated. Lexus navigation sucks and is very expensive to update.

Streaming come with a price, music on your own memory card does not. Streaming is lossy quality and the higher quality you want the more data, the more expensive. Spotify claim they will come with lossless sooner or later, but as just mentioned: the more data the more it cost.

Take these (and similar) off your pants if not wanting to destroy the seats; do not know why they are on in the first place: Also wash jeans in more than 60 degrees Celsius at least once when new to get off excessive colour from factory off, my wife told me so; a little chlorine in the water helps to remove excess color. PS.: Reason for using Neutron music player and not Poweramp, which is much more popular and also user friendly is that the normalization of sound level output in Poweramp is useless, meaning that you need to adjust volume button constantly, whereas in Neutron the normalization is functioning a lot better; not perfect but very much better.

Not often. Mostly just follow traffic. Have learned that being in a hurry help nobody. Rather come a minute later, than not come. But like mentioned before. Different driving style. You are one that like to drive fast. I like to drive comfortable, 25 - 35 years ago I was also sometimes driving fast. Now no more rally for me.

I use a rather cheap Samsung A71 with Neutron music player and have the files in flac lossless on the micro SD-card. Any smart-phone that can take a memory card can hold music tor a while. I find that memory cards now are so cheap that using MP3 compression is no longer needed. The audio Lexus has built-in these cars is far above the quality of the MP3 format. Yes we do not keep our ears in same listening quality as when we were young, but I prefer to get as much out of it as is still left. Line-in is better than Bluetooth, but not as convenient.

Different driving style. You need to get full power and violent acceleration. I do not. Constant engine revs? Driving Le Mans? Rally? Try a Lancia EVO with low gearing and you will have a beautiful sound from engine while you shock your passenger/co-driver. No road noise in electric cars? What kind of tyres are they on? Or are they being lifted on balloons? Sorry, maybe where you drive road surface is so smooth that it is noiseless.

Lexus / Toyota CVT is probably just as good as the electric cars lack of shifting gears. With regard to the silence: When driven normally, just following traffic, the CT we have is silent. No, it is not! The noise from the terribly held roads make a lot of noise. The EVs must be all so good insulated that the road noise is not heard in them. ??? How would I know? Never been in one.

This is a left hand drive but switch should be more or less the same. The one we have has a switch like in the lower picture and in one position mirrors do not move in another they open and close and point down when gear selector is in reverse.
