  1. Tunnels make great sound. Did that once in a 911 turbo tuned by Stig in Sweden. Window slightly open. 1994 - 95.
  2. If the value of the £ continue down it is same price as here: 1.62€
  3. Prefer a bidet to toilet paper.
  4. Wonder if the poor think you are right.
  5. I do not rule out going to another fuel, but if the only possibility to drive a car is to have a battery produced harming people mining the materials for the batteries, making a lot of pollution, needing to be replaced buying the next battery from China, then I prefer to walk. Another technology is possibly the better answer. Electric engines (brush free) last a very long time and when so many major companies are investing in hydrogen, that can be made environmentally friendly, that could be the answer. So many combustion cars made the jump from fossil fuel to liquid gas so jumping from diesel to hydrogen should not be impossible.
  6. Good for the rich living in cities where all drive EV's that have left their polluting elsewhere. Not good for the people mining the minerals to the batteries, the people living where the pollution to manufacture the batteries are made, no good to let renewing batteries be in the hands of China, that make a very big part of them. We are not poor. We are rich. We have no cars. We take the day as it come: Are people that have been living like this since forever meant to pay for the luxury we think is our right?
  7. I do not know. I just read the news and listen to news on Danish TV. Here where we live price has tripled since the problems with the stupid dictator that seems to think he can rule the world because the UN security has the possibility for some countries to veto what they do not like. Not one country should have the right to veto. Not one country is not committing grave errors of judgement if it is in their own interest.
  8. Here I have not seen one with E10 on. Few with E5 and several without E.
  9. Smell of new car is always nice. Congratulation.
  10. eBay global shipping program send global except to places they do not send. All tax-free areas, all former tax-free areas, all areas that are IVA, Mehrwertsteuer, VAT free areas. That is what eBay call global. Searched and bought this: https://www.ebay.de/itm/175288547267 Now let us see if having more luck with this.
  11. Just got a mail from eBay: Dear Customer, I'm really sorry for contacting you but we have been informed from our charge that we can not ship this item through the postal network to your location. Therefore the order has been cancelled. We are very sorry for any inconvenience caused. Kind regards Katerina Seems I live too far away from UK postal service so I cannot get the filter just paid for. PayPal will refund; they are trustworthy.
  12. If it is the protective film it should be easy just to take that off? Reflections would come near the middle of the dashboard. Or is that film impossible to just take off? Is there such a film on this too?
  13. Thank you. Ordered it. Should be here soon. From: Kent, UK. Quick Dispatch, Großbritannien elivery Tu, 25. Okt and Fr, 4. Nov Believe, that with that time of delivery it is sent from China and not UK.
  14. https://nyheder.tv2.dk/lokalt/2022-09-30-fynbo-sparer-6000-kroner-om-maaneden-ved-at-skifte-sin-elbil-ud-med-benzin - Google can translate In Denmark you can now buy slightly used EV cars as electricity is too expensive if you are not one the owners of a house with solar cells on top. Some claim they save around 600£ monthly going back to gasoline cars. Here on the island there used to be EV cars waiting in line for charging on the streets, but now there are vacant charging stations. Why, I do not know as none of our friends have electric cars. But maybe because electricity is now expensive. Super Shell and BP (98 oct.) cost 1.62€ / L. We pay almost 3 times as much for electricity compared to half a year ago, even though we try to use the most consuming dishwasher, tumble dryer etc. when price is lower. Here government will now have the rich (having more than 3 million €) starting to pay more in taxes than before (nothing). After what I read in UK it is the other way, that the rich shall have reduced their tax. Maybe shall not believe all that is written, but some of it may be true.
  15. No smell from A/C and do not know if filter has ever been changed when car was serviced. If they have changed it it probably would be with Lexus/Toyota filter and that is not with active charcoal? So it would be better to buy aftermarket high quality filter than having the original even if changed when car was serviced (last week)?
  16. So, we do not really need to be concerned about changing filter?
  17. PayPal is great. Just received the refund. Paid for the download and was asked to pay again for the same. PayPal react immediately and refunded. PayPal is
  18. The problem started with the car companies. They all install a sweet gentle cat. What if they installed a growling, hungry tiger? SORRY!
  19. Hi Joseph, The GS is a heavy car and that mean it will need more to move than a lighter. The fuel consumption is in eyes of all other on the forum (incl. myself) absolutely fine. We have a CT, micro-Lexus and though we are happy with it, fuel consumption (about the same as you have in the GS) is not what promised from factory. All car companies come with impossible to reach fuel efficiency in normal day to day life. If we drive from where we live to south of the island and back on the highway, which is mostly pancake-flat we can have 4.8L/100km, but as we drive around in the hilly, mountain island we have fuel consumption like you have in a far heavier car. When driving to market to get fresh vegetables, 1000 meter above sea level, which is where we live, petrol engine is not having a break, but is guzzling fuel constant; when then driving down hybrid battery is full after a few km and when it is full all brake energy is wasted. EV light is on all the way down, but not helping. 6.2L/100km is what we get for living on a mountain island. Where we live, I believe a car that did not have the weight of the hybrid battery would be more fuel efficient. Before the CT we had a Golf 2.0tdi DSG that was using only 5.2L/100km. Here a plug-in hybrid might be worse, though it has a larger battery you can fill with (expensive at this time) electricity and have it help you uphill, that same battery will also be much heavier and thus need more fuel to get uphill, while it will be full on the way down, much before we come home.
  20. Hi John, did not really want anything, just curious and would pay the 5$ to see what it is. When it wanted to be paid again for the same without letting me download anything, I told PayPal to return the 5¤ I paid. A web-site that want to be paid twice for the same item is not for me to support. I do not really need a manual as I am not having a place to do any kind of work on the car. The parking space is 10cm shorter than the car and a CT is not big. Also not permitted to wash cars in the garage, there is not even a place to get electricity to fill air in tyres there. Having been working with cars many years I now let other people get dirty hands doing that.
  21. Tried to download manual for CT. Paid the 5$. Got directed back to the download page and was told to pay 5$ (again) to get the immediate download. Suppose his server is having problems. Told PayPal. Expect to get money back instead of a manual.
  22. Colin mentioned that when needed the engine would give power to the drivetrain. When I long ago contacted the importer in Denmark I was informed that the combustion engine was there only to charge the battery.
  23. If it is ML audio it should have at least 10.
  24. Lexus is great with Hardware. Software seems to have been composed from Chinese, translated to Japanese with Google and then made by somebody that have no idea about what they were supposed to do. Garmin could help with navigation (not really needed as all smartphones have a well-functioning GPS in them), Mark Levinson has helped with part of the audio, but I do not believe Lexus have given completely free hands with it; ML audio for home is another league. Still audio is the best part of the software in the car. Do not know if the new models have LED in all headlights, but when they have automatic adjustment of level and washer for the headlamp and LED in the low beam bulb, why on earth have they halogen for high beam? Completely stupid. LED lamps last 10 times longer than halogen. If they had yellow bulbs in the fog light that would according to some people make sense. They think that yellow light goes better below fog than white. Great that you try Nick, but I doubt Lexus UK will do more than pretend to listen.
