On the one we have there is Eco, Normal and Sport setting. In Normal and Sport AC is working all the time, in Eco it is not working constantly and saving fuel. Keep AC on all year. In summer to cool down and in winter to keep the car dry.

Wonder what is happening here. Nobody have a 2012 CT? The one we have does not have such a cover as far as I remember. Do not look there often.

The future for electric cars - Citroen Oli

Most solar cells come from China. Just like most batteries for EV cars. Are we dependent on China when it comes to new batteries as they are known not to last forever? -

Some have bigger solar cells than others. More power faster = charging. -
Need replacement soon. Old tyres not really looking worn, but are rather old. Here with summer all year, slicks would be good enough for driving, but not for ITV (MOT). Next ITV October 2024 so have plenty of time. Looking for good price for Continental UltraContact. Not the easiest brand to find good price for.

Just filled the CT with 98 BP E5. Was told I had 599km left in tank. Drove uphill 5.7km and was told I have 584km left in tank. 15km fuel for driving 5.7km. Down again to where we live another 5.5km and now I have 580km left in tank. 4km fuel for driving 5.5km. If I only drive downhill it will be possible to have consumption like Lexus claim in the ads.

A very good friend of mine who has been working with cars more than 30 years bought a MG EHS plug-in hybrid in 2021 and though it has a good British name for a car it come from China. When he tells me it is good and very well-built car, I believe him. He has had most of the Toyota 4x4 cars (he has horses driving around with them) and one of them was a Landcruiser top of the line 2005, think it was a V8, which I liked, even though I dislike such big clumsy cars. The MG has more gadgets installed, and all the extras are in first quality he has told me. With his own solar cells on top of the garage he drives without gasoline almost constant and only need the hybrid when driving on long tours. When he says so about a car it is quality; and if not, he would have had it less than half a year. -

I have been diving 2 of the air suspended Citroëns. Only one was mine. Though they could cross the river in high position without us getting wet feet (we sometimes did that in a R4) and the car were extremely comfortable, the one we had was in workshop to get it fixed twice (only had the car half a year) the other a friend had was being fixed rather often. Maybe roads and tracks in Africa are not the place for such cars. A Peugeot 604 never had a problem with same roads. -
The problem making green hydrogen is price. That is something that will turn every politician against it as the holy grail for politicians is to get more profit. A little old lady asked a politician in Denmark (voting day was yesterday) about what was the most important today and got the usual answers for older people: better hospitals and care homes. The little old lady said: what good is more hospitals and the rest that interest you when we are all going to drown in melting glaciers and die of the pollution you politicians have talked about a long time and done exactly nothing about, we need a world worth living in for our children and their children. Electric powered cars, trucks, trains, boats mean needing batteries in a quantity that nobody has ever thought about and batteries do not last forever and materials to make batteries will get expensive. Hydrogen is possible to make without pollution and if it cost more and let the world and all on it live then only stupid people believe it is expensive.

Crossed a river often in a R4. Could be repaired with a little toolbox. -

Very nice, except for the realy comfortable hydraulic suspension that needed a Citroën workshop every 10K km. -

Lexus software is not that great. Maybe because summertime/wintertime is not same day in all countries. Other car companies have that adjusting automatic. Thought it was fixed in new cars, but seems not so, when a 2019 is same as a 2017.

Yes, price is up again. Better get used to it.

In 69 years of driving car, I remember having needed spare wheel 3 times. All of them in Africa on roads seldom to find similar in Europe. I have been riding mountain bike on even worse trails and have fixed first tubes with glue and patches, later fixed tyres with sealant that in the beginning was latex based and these sealants were awful, the sealant dried out in summer in a couple of weeks here and then no longer was functioning and when getting the latex sealant on clothes it could not be removed. I read about a sealant used in desert race with all terrain cars and tried that in bike tyres. Bought a couple of bottles and have never needed spare tyres or fixing them in order not to have to walk home. Does not dry out and sealed all the holes I got in tyres from thorns, lava, flint and bad driving. The sealant in Lexus cars will get old and I am going to use QuadBoss sealant, should I get a leak in a tyre. Tyre shops are not really fond of latex-based sealants as cleaning machines after sealant come on them is not something that is easy. QuadBoss can be washed off with nothing more than water. So far have not needed it in the CT, but have used several litres in mountain-bikes

Does not sound reasonable. When putting on 4 new tyres on a car it will take a while and the front tyres will be more worn than the rear tyres, so who will ever see if the 4 were put on at the same time and the front just are taking the harder load from braking and cornering? Never heard of that rule. Is it only in the UK?

Just what Linas said, Lexus is no longer what Lexus was. That is not what he said, but what I think what he said means. But I think that Lexus UK should be wealthy enough to get a satisfied new Lexus user that in time could lead to more satisfied Lexus users. To me it seems that here, they are exposing and promoting Toyota and let Lexus be the exclusive second choice for us rich snobs. That is the feeling we get from them when coming to service here. I feel sorry for you Peter, but I doubt that Lexus is interested in paying what it could cost to get a happy Lexus owner.

The only problems on this earth if goal is to have a bright green future are the ones we make.

Cruise Control vs no cruise control
Las Palmas replied to Brookied's topic in Lexus IS 300h / IS 250 / IS 200t Club
Cruise control function OK when no other cars on road. When much traffic it is a rollercoaster with automatic braking and acceleration. -
Have not been in any of them, but sure the big S-class from MB, the Audi 8 series and even the BMW will have something comfortable, the new Honda Legend and probably also Accord will be worth driving in not to mention Hyundai that has started making cars of quality. There is not many of the super big cars that are not comfortable. If they are in peoples taste is another thing. If such enormous big things are worth driving in, finding parking place to and many other things is something completely different. I like the look of the LS from Lexus, but have no place for it in the garage and in a country where parking places were made for Fiat 500 such big cars are simply not fun.
