  1. The new one with Recaro seats? Long time since I had a car with Recaro seats. As I remember they were firm, firm and more firm, but not uncomfortable. Small cars find parking spaces more often. We keep our CT and do not envy those with bigger cars.
  2. In a hybrid cars, where the combustion engine provide power to the wheels of the car (and not only to the battery like in the old Volt from GM) gearing needs to be much more complex than in a car where the wheels only get their power from electric motors. In electric motors all you need is to reverse the plus and minus to the motors to get the car going reverse. The idea of using an engine in the car to only charge the battery that drive the car is not too bad. Such a car could be both charged home (from those having a possibility for that) and while driving, using the engine in the car to charge the battery, making the range larger than the cars with only battery as fuel; an engine that is only charging a battery can be made to run in the most economical and environmentally friendly way as it needs not speed up or slow down. Also, the engine could be made to run on various fuel types. Maybe fuel cell or oil from fast food (have read about a car smelling like pommes frites out of the exhaust pipe) or other kind of fuel when available. Electric motors are not wasting as much energy as many other motors having few moving parts. Not only thinking of cars for private use, but busses, trucks and cargo- and cruise ships; possibly even air planes.
  3. Thought that blank space was the place for an add and I have many blank spaces on may web sites. Ad blockers do a great job
  4. Do not have Adobe Animate or other flash programs and normally open only web from https and not http. Still both the links in the bottom function, so it could be some leftover programs in you computer that are having a hickup. If you want to reinstall a previous Adobe Flash do it from the original Adobe Web: https://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/install-previous-version-flash-player.html They are not distributing malware.
  5. Thackeray: It's at this link but as expected the Adobe Flash bit doesn't work now after Adobe withdrew support for Flash. It's possible that some people may still have an old version of Flash on their computer and as long as they don't update it, it may still work. Hi William, The link function correct without Adobe Flash. I have the LTSC (server version) Windows from 2019 in this PC and no Adobe Flash installed. Adobe Flash was a disaster security wise. It is good is is gone. In your system there still may be parts of the Adobe Flash that are making problems. Try to install the Flash again and then get the latest uninstaller. That could make the link function.
  6. The old DAF had a system that functioned more or less the same way. Search DAF Variomatic. Easier to understand as it is much simpler than the extremely complex CVT in Lexus.
  7. Being lazy is not a bad thing. I once got a job telling new boss that I am too lazy to do the same thing twice, so I do it right first time.
  8. The heavier the car the more fuel is used. If not filling the tank it will be needed to visit gas station more often. I am lazy enough to fill every time.
  9. Looked at their web-site. They cover real leather seats (with plastic). Both Amazon and eBay are rich enough to be able to do something with the fraud of having their logos on a fraudulent site. And they should.
  10. In 1990 I worked a place selling Fulda tyres and they were cheap and most customers had no complaints. Still sometimes so called premium tyres are not much more expensive than mid range.
  11. MB is not something to write home about. Hyundai is all I need when abroad and renting a car.
  12. Your car looks great. It is hard for me to understand with the fine audio equipment in the cars from Lexus. Apple sound quality is inferior to sound quality in the cars. Line in from good hardware is better than anything Apple has ever made. When the iPod came it was good looking and quality as good as on a good cassette. It has not improved since then. Our next car will not be a MB. Service of MB here is worse than that of Lexus.
  13. If all the tricks here are not helping I would go to a specialist a/c company and have it done. Had bad smell in a MB 350SE and a Honda Civic. Both cars were cleaned and the a/c expert told me to always stop using a/c 5 minutes before you stop and in that time have full power on ventilation. Did that and had no smell problems. In the CT we have now we are going to keep a/c on permanent. It is always hot here. Tried a week without a/c to see how much it would reduce fuel consume, but keeping a/c on all time is just much more pleasant.
  14. All of what you write is correct in my opinion except that it is not costing fuel. Having my a/c on all time I have 7L/100km. No a/c I have 6.7L/100km. Live where flat roads hardly exist and going up cost fuel, going down fills the battery, but not giving nearly as much power as going up costs. Decided that a/c is best to keep on and accept what it cost in fuel.
  15. Welcome. You found the right place for information. I did when joined.
  16. Is that the smoke coming when a new Pope is elected? 😇
  17. Wife is now using my old GMT Master. I do not need to be precise.
  18. Continental are excellent except for noise. Have had them for all cars untill we got a car that is running silent. Road noise was not heard in the other cars anyway. Pirelli P7 (on the CT) are not coming on wieh needing new. Michelin Primacy 4 or Dunlop SP Sport Bluresponse are what I am looking for when the P7 no longer are good enough.
  19. When 80% charge can get the car 400km or close to that it can be useful. As long as range is much shorter, I do not believe battery powered cars have many chances.
  20. Main thing is that you are happy with it.
  21. Thank you. 10 years! With all the exclusions: What is then warranted? 😇
  22. That question is one that I also would like an answer to.
  23. You have a point. Many are disbelievers. Could that be the reason ? Good things come to those who believe!
  24. We can hope that the politicians are getting more interested in saving the planet than the economy. We can also hope that Santa Claus comes with presents. What is most likely?
  25. Nothing last forever. Oil needs to be changed in engines, so how could it last forever in transmissions? Changed transmission oil in my old Honda Coupé (100.000 km), and VW Golf 2.0tdi DSG (150.000 km). Honda had the automatic transmission flushed and cleaned by special machine. VW had it done by VW so do not know if it was complete or partial. The most expensive was VW as far as I remember. If we still have the CT when it has done 100.000km transmission oil will be changed.
