Highest Speed Hit?
RichGS11 replied to BenH22's topic in Lexus F Club - Lexus IS-F / GS-F / RC-F Club
What did GPS say? The speedo goes out by some margin the faster you go. I had 170 on mine but GPS took 10mph off that. -

New ISF Owner
RichGS11 replied to hawkesy226's topic in Lexus F Club - Lexus IS-F / GS-F / RC-F Club
Welcome and enjoy the platform! So I'm not sure about the auto lights on with Techstream, never heard of anyone that's done it, but not to say impossible. Wing mirrors on can be done but you need a relay and a custom setup. I know of a few people that have them installed. Not sure about the door handle. I'm assuming yours is loose? The stereo is a bit of a pain with the ISF. There are options out the such as GROM Vline, which can give you an updated stereo system with more options, but it's not the most stable of software. I've had it and sold it, others had better luck with it and kept it. Spare parts there are a few places such as Lexus Parts Direct, but most people use RockAuto from the States. Competitive and fast delivery. Just keep asking questions on here and we'll try to assist. Happy motoring and enjoy the car. Pictures welcome 😊 Rich -
Disabling keyless entry
RichGS11 replied to Jezpatel's topic in Lexus F Club - Lexus IS-F / GS-F / RC-F Club
I have Techstream. I'll check if the option is on there for the ISF. -
Interested to see this installed and your verdict.

Hi Linas, To be honest my plan is to strip them back and repaint/hydrodip them black. The rubber bit isn't all that important.

Hi all, Random request, but everyone that seems to be breaking an IS fails to respond on Facebook market place. I'm after the chrome window trims for all four doors from a MK2 IS250/350/ISF. Thanks.

I'd like to get my hands on a Draggy to give mine a look. With all I've done it 'should' be quite impressive. I want to do a before and after with the carbon propshaft too!

Looking to buy a 2010+ ISF
RichGS11 replied to samplify's topic in Lexus F Club - Lexus IS-F / GS-F / RC-F Club
Simply put, there isn't a market for the F range in the UK. The reason they don't sell quick, is because they're not suaght after. Sadly anyone with visions of a £30k+ ISF selling quickly is living in the US market. The UK is just not the place for the ISF (well not yet). It doesn't matter what you have, only another enthusiast or someone that knows what they want, will go for it. To other people it's an over priced V8 that is not desirable. I wish it wasn't! -
Coilover spring rates
RichGS11 replied to jeffrosie6's topic in Lexus F Club - Lexus IS-F / GS-F / RC-F Club
I'm at 20/14 but the ride is not for most people, it does however make my car so planted its phenomenal on the road handling wise, you just have to have a strong stomach 😂 -

Yeah icode throttlebody. I looked into one but couldn't find any actual evidence of gains, so never carried on down that path. They're over $1k new. If I were you I'd hunt down any other changes. If they've gone mental on an engine build it would be super cool and a massive headache at the same time. Perhaps email icode and see if they can help you out. It would be good to grab a run down on what it's had done, especially come replacing parts. If only for the potential issue that you have to replace something simple, but it ends up causing running issues. Some of those icode ISF's ran cams and everything. 8,000 rev limits, etc.

Not tried on mine, but my boss knows a guy that uses these and he swears by them on his classic Ford's (some are pulling serious BHP numbers). I'd love to weigh a set one day against OEM equivalents!
-
LEM's parts are expensive in general. No reasoning behind it really. For reference, their bog standard black ISF front grill is over £400 (plastic!). I guess they base the price of their parts similar to that of Ohlins and OEM. Not to say they're not worth it, but I think the expense is name only and I say this because their incredibly expensive titanium intake elbow is not a reccomended part for more power (by my tuner).

Consireding Buying RCF
RichGS11 replied to TheHairyBeast's topic in Lexus F Club - Lexus IS-F / GS-F / RC-F Club
Depends on what you're after. All three varying platforms with differing offerings. For performance or track I'd say M2 over the rest, and if you want reliability and semi Jap I'd say the Supra. The RCF is like the entire F range, slower than modern cars, heavier, reliable and cruisers. Sure you can start making them lighter, tweeking them, but they'll never have the support of say the M2 and Supra. Which is where the final key reason for why you'd have a Lexus F, exclusivity. With the GSF, RCF and ISF, you'll have something not many have, and it's also a reliable and relatively economical V8. I'd say it's personal preference and what you plan to do with the car. -
I believe 6800 is OEM.
-
Sounds like it has been played with. Mine is tuned to 7200. I get the shift beep (hasn't been moved), then a little bit of time before the limiter. One thing I would do is ask RR as they should have the VIN of the car, as the hand held flash device is programmed to run on its respective car (when you buy it from them). If you don't have it, you'll need advice on how to either change the tune or reset it (should you wish), without bricking the ECU. You may even have headers and engine mounts!
-
Oh really? He's your man. He goes through stages of being flat out, but has been reliable. Other than that, I don't know of anyone that's as good as him with these things. I'm sure there is, but Lexus IS specific, I don't know.
-
There's a guy on Instagram (Salondon). I would find him ans ask him. He is a wizard with the IS and electronics, installing RCF seats into his IS. He would be my first port of call.

It was a big show, almost too big!
-
Nice. I'm gutted I didn't get round to track. I wasn't sure on my attendance until late, so never booked it. Was it fun?
-
Hey dude. It was a pleasure meeting you. It was Sean and myself (Rich, with the blue ISF) you spoke with and it was a pleasure. We were talking afterwards that it's such an odd car when it comes to shows (the whole F line up), because it's a relatively unknown car, so it's rare to talk about it with people. I hope you enjoyed the rest of the show?

I'll check tomorrow for you. I have the same camera and I'll find the exact fuse. To use the fuse board in the passenger side foot well, with the piggyback fuse thingy, you'll lose the ability to put the cover back on. It is however the best fuse to jump as it comes on perfectly every time, when it should. I was going to buy a spare cover and cut the appropriate hole to allow the piggyback connector to sit through. I'm sure there's a hardwire option, but I don't want to splice into the OEM loom.

Lexus iS-F cracked exhaust manifold

I have a pair with CATs. Not sure if I'm keeping and rewelding as spares, or selling. -
New ISF to the forum.

Carbon ceramic pads, but floating disks have always been on the shopping list. Rotational mass and all that.
