  1. Nice. How long did fitting take?
  2. Hello all, Looking to revert my intake from Takeda back to OEM. I did however buy my car with the Takeda intake fitted so never had an OEM intake to start with. Where could I get an OEM intake box from? I'm assuming they'd be an arm and a leg from Lexus, so my other option was selling my Takeda intake to someone who wants to move from OEM, and then obtaining their OEM box in the sale? Any suggestions people? Thank you.
  3. Thank you. Everything is fine MOT wise which is important to me. I love the Vlands, I love the LED headlights and the Lexus swoosh/tick. I wasn't sure I'd like them but they've really grown on me.
  4. Haha I searched for ages for a USB without a sunroof. Hate them! It's funny what people like. Nice F 👌
  5. Some images from a trip to Wales a couple of weekends back. she was great fun on the roads over there!
  6. The UK/Euro plate holders usually have four mounting holes cut into the bumper. The US plate holder has only two. Not sure about the grill mounted holders. Best to do an ebay search on the bumpers and it should show you whats under the plate mount.
  7. There's two old RAF bases near me and both runways are stacked full of cars, hundreds and hundreds of them. I'm sure there'll be others around the country. I'll try to take a pic if work takes me up there again in the near future.
  8. I literally just had mine done with Dinitrol last week! There was light surface rust as expected. The rust was worse under the panels. It looks as though Lexus coated the areas that were not covered, but left some of those covered by panels, so some of the worst of the rust was hidden. However the chassis wasn't rotten and it was all easily treated. I used a local garage who took off the exhaust, brakes, etc, to make sure they had total coverage. Bar the suspension springs and a rotted exhaust hanger, the car was very clean. For reference I have a 2010 with 54k on the clock and it has spent it's previous life in Scotland.
  9. Remove the fuse. Nothing else is needed. As stated above, double check which fuse you pulled as it sounds like the wrong one.
  10. If you have no luck with Lexus, there's a guy on Instagram that makes CF interior parts for the ISF, GSF and RCF. He may make the part that's delaminating and he would be cheaper than Lexus. I've ordered from him and will continue to do so. Just a thought and a potential option. I can always ask him if he supplies that part if you don't have Instagram? Let me know.
  11. Well I drove to the coast and back on a mixture of roads which was an hour and half each way and I averaged 29.4mpg. Driving the car back from Scotland with some fun thrown in was 31mpg. Around town has been mid 20's.
  12. If you can, check under the car for rust, especially under the hundreds of plastic pieces of trim. They're great for aerodynamics and also trapping water! The cars stop rust well and there are no 'known' areas of rust to look for, but the trays and plastics hide a lot, so it's always worth it. I had mine checked and then rust treated and protected. Look for sticky/cracked interior plastics like dash and door cards. An American recall issue which hasn't presented itself here, but always worth noting along with the valley plate leak (check under engine cover). Ticking on start up can be cracked manifolds/headers. These are a weak point and crack, even on the best looked after cars. It's roughly a 10 hour job to replace and always worth considering an upgrade to PPE headers to get away from the OEM design/quality. A lot of people live with the cracks and the cars still run fine, but again, worth noting. Check for the bumpers sagging under the lights, both front and rear. The clips are weak and tend to go if the bumper has been removed a few times. These are a few things I looked for when searching as well as all the usual issues. I bought mine over 2 months ago and I love it. Best car I've owned and driving her, even to the shops, is a joy. It's a lovely place to be inside and the car has aged well and will continue to in my eyes due to the design. I can't see me changing for a long time.
  13. Well I have been advised to find a garage with an induction heater as they're the best way to generate intense localised heat for bolts such as this. So I have a few options it seems.
  14. Thanks gents. I shall get some and start applying it and see what happens in a week or two.
  15. Thanks guys. I will try that trick for a few weeks and see what happens. Any specific fluid you suggest?
  16. Hello all, Yesterday my car went in to be steam cleaned underneath, rust treated and rewaxed. In the process there were the usual issues of snapped bolts and corrosion on the CAT pipe, etc, but nothing hugely abnormal and damaging price wise. The only issue that has come about as a result is that the rear caliper bolts are siezed up. The steel bolts won't budge from the calipers regardless of what the mechanic has tried and as such I'm looking into options. As far as my mechanic views it, I can either purchase a new set of calipers (or used), or remove the bolts potentially stripping the threads inside the caliper, then re-threading them with inserts. My mechanic is very switched on and knows his stuff, and right now this is not an urgent job as the rear discs are healthy, but as he rightly says, to removed the discs I will need to address this at some point in the future. So my questions are..... Has anyone come across this issue and how did they address it? Do the GSF, ISF and RCF share the same rear calipers? Does anyone have any other suggestions? Thank you.
  17. Wow! Very unique and also protecting the factory paint. Nice dude.
  18. Sadly I don't have a Lexus Indy near me which is a shame.
  19. That sounds exactly like my issue noise wise. I'll be investigating Wednesday to find out if it is the manifolds. I also think I will get the 100k service carried out by Lexus this year. It's less a case of money, more an education on what these cars need and when, plus with the potential for making sure it has the best service history should I need/want to sell her. I Will also enquire about transmission fluid too. I will order a new radiator ASAP. With the car being over 10 years old it will be worth the upgrade regardless of condition. Saves the cost of a new gearbox if it does go wrong! Thank you
  20. Hi. Thanks for the reply. I hadn't thought about injectors. Hopefully Wednesday I'll have a better clue after my mechanic looks over the exhaust before treating the car. I did read about the serpentine belt slipping. It doesn't bother me hugely, it's more a sound I'm not used to and wanted to know if it was more terminal! Thank you.
  21. Thank you for the reply. It would seem that I have receipts from Lexus for all the items pertaining to the 60k service (which isn't a million miles off the 100k for parts changed). It isn't however the 100k which I think I will call Lexus about and see what my options are to have the 100k service carried out and see what they say. I am in the group buy for the manifolds and I think I will upgrade. I will find out more Wednesday as the mechanic is checking over the exhaust system before treating the underside of the car. Thanks for the link to the service intervals!
  22. Hello all, I have some random questions I'm trying to get answers for. I've Googled the service intervals for the ISF but I seem to find the US intervals which I was told were different to the UK. So..... - I have a 2010 with 54K on the clock. The 60K service was done start of the year (not at Lexus sadly, but carried out nonetheless). When would be my next service and is there a list of intervals? - When does the gearbox fluid usually get changed? - I am aware of the dreaded coolant leak into the transmission oil (through corrosion in the rad), when would be a good time to change the rad? - I believe I have a cracked manifold as the car ticks on start up (common symptom) and I can hear what sounds like a dump valve at gear changes, in high revs and in manual (I assume gasses escaping through the cracks??) Has anyone else had this? - The car is being steam cleaned and any rust treated underneath, plus sealing up and protecting next week. Any issues that could come up such as removing panels or the exhaust (other than the usual gaskets, etc), anything abnormal? - It has a H&S system which I am yet to check on condition. Are H&S exhausts lifetime guaranteed? - Has anyone used Lexus Cambridge for services and maintenance? What are they like? Apologies for all the questions, but searching isn't leading me to many places mainly due to the rarity of these cars. The car in question has been meticulously maintained and bar the 60K service (not done in my ownership), it has a full Lexus History. I know the 60K is a big one and a bit of me wants to have Lexus check her over, is it worth it? Thank you all and apologies if I've asked anything basic. Rich
  23. The irony of the jab for me was that I had the virus at somepoint in the last 18 months and never knew about it, but the day I get the vaccine to protect me against said virus, my body goes into meltdown. I did chuckle to myself.
