  1. OK for at home, but not much use when parking elsewhere though. So doesn't meet my needs.
  2. Hi, I'm sure this has been asked before, but I can't seem to find the recommendations. I'm looking for physical security for mt NX phase 1 2020, as I'm going on holiday and the hotel I'll be staying at doesn't have it's own car park, but uses a secure (but public) car park a few streets away. So, I feel I'll need a little more than just the built in alarm and immobiliser for piece of mind. Any suggestions would be appreciated, many thanks, Al.
  3. Similar advice from me, use the car supermarket prices to negotiate. Although mine was a couple of years ago and on a new NX, went through all the specs, extras etc, I was given the price. Then showed the dealer the CarWOW price from another dealer only 45 miles away, a few hushed words amongst the sales staff and BAM 27% discounted. Signed on the dotted line and had the car on my driveway in 5 weeks
  4. Yes perfectly fine to use. wet the car with a jet wash get all the really sticky crud off, then use it as a polish. the advantage is you don't need the car to be dry like regular polishing. Makes the paintwork super slick and repels water and muck for a good 3-4 weeks in the summer. Or being a Lexus owner, surely you can just get your man to do it. That's what I do.
  5. Try looking in the manual, it should tell you which buttons do what
  6. This really does not bode well for the luxury brand when they can't get their new model right after such a lengthy period of time. I fear that quality control, the care and attention previously spent on their cars is slipping and they are concentrating on chasing the cash instead. Shame really.
  7. If the demand is as high as it seems. Get it, runit a while then sell it. You might even turn a profit due to demand and with many people being far more impatient these days, they potentially would pay a premium to have the "hot" NX now, now now!!!
  8. I'm with Ken R there. I went with Aviva. My circumstances are very different but Aviva only wanted circa £800 for fully comp. Lexus insurance did state they aren't very competitive, then quoted me £11k!
  9. Must be the regions you live in. DAB is fine where I am and only drops out for 2 seconds on one specific road right next to a "safety" camera
  10. I understand why too. Apple products are very strictly controlled in respects of hardware and their "walled garden" OS and iOS platforms. It is therefore much easier to spec up for car manufacturers and include the "toys" As Android is more open and each phone manufacturer has their version with makers add-ons it's much more difficult to make a compatible fixed item in a vehicle that is compatible with "everything" And car manufacturers are slower and more cautious than the tech giants. For example the previous NX had wireless charging, but not wireless ACP, for fear of security and possibility of messing up the car's wireless systems like the TPMS.
  11. My NX is a 2020, with wireless charging. All I am saying is that if your phone (on ANY wireless charger) does not lie flat on its back, lie it face down. The screen is nice and flat and it will still wireless charge. The problem isn't the 2022 NX, it's the phones.
  12. Or lie your phone face down flat. Works for my iPhone and it's annoying sticky out camera
  13. Tried that, it simply took me back to Lexus for over the air updates, which on the odd occasion have worked take "forever" to download
  14. I'm sorry but this really smacks of entitlement. I want Lexus to redesign a £42K+ car for me and my phone! I mean it's all the wrong way round complaining that your car doesn't fit your phone, it's laughable. Just change your phone.
  15. I'm talking about a 2020 UK spec, the Tahara "leather" is synthetic, not from animals, but you can spec up to real leather which is. Also, it has nothing to do with being eco friendly / vegan. In Japan the smell of real leather is found by many to be offencive. Hence their preference for the "plastic"
  16. But, seriously leather comes from animals, oh and your link doesn't work.
  17. It comes from the dark side of the moon obviously. As it can't come from the light visible side, as that's made of cheese.
  18. My 2020 NX is full leather on the dash, pig skin not cow hide, but leather.
  19. Good point. Also higher end cars, like Lexus are not the target of opportunists, they are stolen to order. So, if your car is marked for theft, it will be stolen.
  20. Yes it does lock the whole car. What would be the point of having a boot lock only?
  21. It it leather? Looks like plastic to me, I might be wrong though. If it is genuine, it's pig skin, you can tell that by looking at it, it has the same surface pattern as human skin, just take a look at the back of your hand.
  22. What fuel consumption are you getting? I get between 56 and 58 miles per gallon, around 12 per litre
  23. Nope. Safety camera / speeding camera alerts, not the park assist beeps.
  24. Ok, I get that. And Iwas only helping by suggesting an alternative app.
