  1. To combat the not so cheap servicing, get a service plan. It's future price rise proof and replacement parts included, easy monthly payments
  2. All these stories about the prestige brand are troublesome. And, I feel it will damage their reputation quite a bit. I mean £50k+ for a car with missing bits, near to non functioning app, infotainment issues, electrics issues, and recall after recall etc. is really unacceptable, no idea why as loyal customers to the brand you guys put up with it. I'd say you're all being mugged off and caught up in the new shiny hype, in my opinion.
  3. loop over the charging plug on the cable, hangs down the side of the car protecting the bodywork while plugged in for a whole charging cycle. But, that's just a guess.
  4. HI, Does anyone know of such a thing? Sad I know, but it would look "cool" on screen all Sci-Fi and stuff.
  5. Not sure if you're being serious or making a joke. Their website is all in French too, so not helpful whatsoever.
  6. Which annoyingly I can't use, as soon as my phone is connected to CarPlay it knock out the memory stick. Although when my phone isn't connected it does work really well.
  7. I did look on the App Store, but it is all in French, no english version that I could find
  8. I was just exploring the built-in apps available, and yet again disappointed by their cr@ppiness
  9. Yep, and Nope didn't work, it read the file as Gracenote, but then rejects the USB stick as faulty, which it isn't
  10. It's built in to my infotainment system and I'd like it up to date. Handy for audio CDs giving track titles, and not having to download this, and burn that etc.
  11. Coyote is a speed camera app, which is "built-in" but unlike the NAV maps it also shows mobile speed camera units as it's live rather than a database. However, it's either Coyote or NAV, or CarPlay. I guess I'm going back to Waze, live, maps, speed camera alerts, always up to date.
  12. Just answered my own question 😂 This link may be useful to some https://21stcenturyfiat124spider.wordpress.com/2022/12/05/gracenote-music-database-version-12-update/
  13. I know how to update it, but can't find any links to get the latest version. Any ideas? Is it still a thing?
  14. I understand what it does and it seems to work well. Until you want to use CarPlay, then the Lexus Online services are knocked off and can't be used again until you unplug CarPlay. Useful app, but unusable!
  15. All sorted. Thanks to everyone for their input and guidance.
  16. Ahh, I've seen where I went wrong. Found the download now. Off to buy a USB-A stick, not had to use one in years!
  17. Sorry to ask, but I'm running around in circles. Logged into MyLexus, "purchased" the 2023 map update. All I get is And no further clue as to how to actually download it to my PC. HELP!
  18. Well, popped along to the e-store. Can't download to USB, as apparently I have already "purchased this product" so that's that sorted! Although I don't remember updating. 😂
  19. Sorry for the dumb question, but how do you download to USB? Also, what do I do with it once I have it on USB?
  20. I just bought mine OEM from the Lexus eBay site, after I got tired of constantly cleaning the back quarters from all the muck the tyres kicked up onto the paintwork. I asked the local Lexus Centre to fit them, and they did FOC, much cheaper than speccing the whole protection pack, which I didn't want.
  21. Really sounds like Lexus are now like all other pseudo luxury brands once they achieve status, chasing the money, cashing in, rather than chasing the quality. I remember when Merc went through a similar thing circa late 80's / 90's. They produced terrible cars for quite a while.
  22. Security reasons? That's rubbish, park up in a town centre you've never been to before, forget where you've left the car, then use the app to NOT find it again! I kid you not this actually happened to me in London many years ago with my old Merc. After a few days down there enjoying life, couldn't for the life of me remember where I'd left the damn thing. Ended up buying a car to get back home.
  23. For your 10's of 1000's £'s you'll get a great car, as to the app and iPhone I choose not to comment out of decency.
  24. Quick update. Finally got it to work. A bit of a faff though. Send from app, go to car, when on house Wi-Fi go to download from server, saves to favourites. Tethering to the phone, adds some more faffing as the car never remembers the password. But all good now, just a longer process with more "clicks".
