  1. True, I was just stating that the S trans can be used in all 3 modes, and does not have to be exclusively with S mode. My old Lancer GS4 with CVT only went into sports+ mode when the shifter was in "manual"
  2. Nope, on my NX 300h S mode is sports mode. Shifting the gear lever to the right it also puts the "gearbox" into manual S mode for the paddle shifters if you wish. IIRC, the sports paddle "gearbox" feature can be used in all modes, eco/normal/sports.
  3. I doubt it. Such a popular hard to get model, I'd expect the dealer to give you a take it or leave it choice, as they know they can shift the incoming motor quickly, and possibly without having to PX
  4. Oh I see. Not sure about the new model NX, but the original doesn't have a camera inside it, it's just a sensor for auto dimming / anti glare.
  5. Is it the same as the previous NX? Mine bongs even when not using the built in maps, too quiet though and easily missed with my old deaf ears
  6. I find Apple Maps aren't so great. When using them in London I got a little lost and put in a pub I know as a reference point to get to. Wandering about the streets I was sure "it's here somewhere" but Apple Maps couldn't find it. They couldn't even "see" the pub at all, I turned round and the boozer was behind me.
  7. The rear view camera only engages when the car is in reverse. There would be quite a lot of software fiddling to get it to do what you want. You can get "further" view if you set the camera to widescreen, but again only while reversing
  8. Also Poppycock. The NX is an AWD vehicle, not 4x4. And, you can change how ever many tires as you see fit. But best practice minimum is a matching pair, on the rear axle, moving the existing pair to the front
  9. And an update, just moved to iOS16.1 and can't log in at all now. I think the app is more or less useless
  10. NX2020 phase 1 I have it on my app I share a route then I have never ever been able to find it when in the car.
  11. Not renewing just because you didn't get a plastic card? If that's the case, rather petty behaviour don't you think? The numbers are all in the app IIRC, or just save them to your phone.
  12. That one gets me. If you haven't set a destination and just have the map on screen as you drive why would the NAV be giving voice instructions? I understand all the other reasons, although even with HUD you change your focus distance, so eyes are still not on the road. And looking at the map to your left does the same. I'm not criticizing, genuinely curious to your plight. Also seems like VOL to minimum is the easiest, if not complete answer
  13. I find it quite easy to read, but then again in my industry being fluent in Japglish and Chinglish is almost mandatory.
  14. I use the "spooling up" technique often. There's a stretch of straight country road on a regular route of mine which goes from 20mph to national. I potter about at 19-ish mph, then just before the national sign it's a flip of the shifter to S, paddle down to 2, wait for the inevitable Bavarian bully / Road Rage Rover driver or Van-Man start to try and see what's on my back seat, then WHOOSH. I love the look on their faces. Childish I know, but my commute is so, so boring.
  15. Why would you want the voice off when using the Sat-Nav? Surely it's better to hear the instruction, then taking your eyes off the road to look at the screen, no? Am I missing something?
  16. I have the previous NX. yes it's "cool" to have the sports "manual" shifters, and the car does respond well to using them. But, at the end of the day they are a bit of a gimmick / fun, and you end up just leaving car in D and leisurely cruising. After all it is not a sports car. Well, that's been my experience.
  17. paddles with shifter in S, acceleration and engine braking force paddles with shifter in D, engine braking force The driving experience in both paddle modes simulates having a manual trans with paddle shift.
  18. No blame laid. I know the dealer is only following the corporate play book. And Lexus Nottingham have been very helpful and generous in the past. So, I know it's a proper no, no from "upstairs"
  19. Update from Lexus. Apparently the credit card key is not available for my car as "the credit card style key does not match the vehicle specification and as such is unfortunately not something that would be able to supply in this instance" That tells me it can be done, but the dealer isn't allowed to. Shame.
  20. The roundabout is a good one, especially if it has multiple exits. Just thought of a good one, if you live near a motorway. Set it to the exit ramp, as you potentially can go anywhere from there.
  21. Yep happens to me in my 2020 NX. Certain parts of mu commute the onboard map shows the correct speed limit, but the dash gizmo thinks that I'm in a 30, when it's 40, 20 when in a 30, but the worst one, for no particular reason on one stretch it's 30 through town, and for 1/2 a mile it thinks I'm in a 10! Imaging the braking from 30 down to 10 on a limiter, pile up ensues !!!!!
  22. What Ken said. I'd add, if within budget try and get a 2020 or 2021 1st. gen model, many came with additional "freebies" as it was an out going model. I bought mine new in 2020 Premium Plus, all the additional bits 'n' bobs I'd budgeted for were thrown in to sweeten the deal, oh and I paid £4,500 under list price.
  23. Never register your home address on the on-board Sat Nav. That's advice given by the police. It means that if your car is stolen from work / public car park the thieves know where you live and that you are not at home. And, has led to a double crime TWOC and burglary. I've set mine to my local police station, so should the car ever get stolen and "they" try the rob the house too trick, "they" are in for a surprise!
