  1. A second for Waze over Airplay. Top left corner, GPS speed is indicated in a red circle. It looks like a speed limit sign. Should you stray over the limit it beeps and goes completely red until you slow back down. Very handy. I also noticed that the car's speedo is consistently +4MPH compared to GPS speed
  2. Those spaces are hilariously short. I bet a council "planner" drove in with their eco SMART car measured it and thought that'll do.
  3. The one I use for a completely professional, like new, in the showroom finish is Rob. He's my car valeter who, as it happens, is also a Lexus owner. Does the car once every couple of months or so. Which costs me 67p a day for the whole year.

  5. Just recently my 4yr old NX300h has developed bootlid dementia. Sometimes it'll open a couple of inches, forget what it was doing until I press the exterior button, then it carries on its merry way. On other occasions on close it will beep twice, do nothing at all, until "nudged" with either the internal close on the dash or button on the bootlid. Any ideas what might be the issue? Any advice would be great, even if it's what to tell the dealer, as the car is going in on a Saturday morning soon for its tracker to be fitted, so they can look into it while they have the car.
  6. Hi All, Anyone else had a call today regarding a safety recall to have a tracker fitted? As part of the phone call I was asked if I use the Lexus app, to which I replied "no, as it's crap" and it really is for a gen-1 model. Then the polite lady from Guilford mentioned it may reduce my car insurance, etc. I've booked the car in, but was wondering does it actually need doing?
  7. Its may sound silly, but it works for me. Breathe on the windscreen so it mists up slightly the wipe away with a microfibre dusting glove. Apart from a clear screen you can get into the corners having your hand flat and you can get your fingers int here. 😏
  8. Car manufacturers lobby (bribe) insurance companies for reduced groups / rates on certain models. think of it as a buying in bulk volume discount. Lexus producing far fewer cars won't have the same financial power, even if they are a sub brand of Toyota. also, IMO the european market (geographical) don't like the asian invasion.
  9. it should be fine, just had mine swapped back to front, then two new on the back. UK TPMS only reports back a low pressure tyre, but not which one. US models are "corner" specific.
  10. Insurances and the companies that provide them are chancing it in these uncertain times. Last year I was with the AA for a 2020 NX300h cost around £750 3 years no claims etc. Their renewal price came in at £1850! Went to Churchill, got better cover and T&Cs for £600.
  11. A bit of leg work but an easy solution to this one. Choose a few cars you might be interested in and arrange a viewing and test drive. Take your phone and USB-A cable with you, without pairing it to the car plug it in and see what happens. Speaking only from an iPhone POV on the menu screen (10" pioneer unit) when the phone is plugged in you'll get a CarPlay option appear, unplug the phone and it disappears. I would assume it is the same for AA.
  12. my 2020 NX Premium Plus pack is a solid roof. As I didn't see the point of a pano or sunroof on a car with climate control.
  13. as the map feature is still all but useless I deleted the app off my phone a while ago. It really is of no use to me.
  14. It's "one of those" isn't it. Opt-In or Opt-Out, which ever way the feature is configured someone won't be happy about tit. I do like your thought that it should be a configurable by driver function.

  16. To everyone who hasn't had issues with their new NX, nice one. But, it is a sample of 1. And, I'd assume still subject to the manufacturing recalls too. I'm talking about the whole production run. As a new model it has not fared well from the start. It certainly does seem (to me at least) that Lexus standards and QC have slipped in recent years.
  17. Not on a RHD NX300h it isn't. It's below the drive mode jog dial next to the parking brake.
  18. WOW! With all the component shortages, keys, locking nuts etc. The numerous recalls, dodgy door handles especially in cold weather, sensor failures, the rest of the competition must have been complete rubbish in comparison.
  19. WOW with all the "horror" stories coming out about the new NX, it seems to be a right bag of S**T compared to the previous model. The one and only time my impatience paid off. bought a facelift model new in 2020, 4 years of totally trouble free motoring so far.
  20. I understand the parasitic drain, but still don't see the need. My NX has stood for over a month started first time no issues. And had a CT stand for 3.5 months, same again, fired up first time, no issues.
  21. Yes, and I wish mine did, but I only have the 2020 NX Premium Plus so no dippy for me.
  22. I just use Gliptone conditioner. If good enough to be the only leather product range to be approved for use on Rolls Royce and Bentley leather seats it's good enough for my posh Toyota Rav4 😂
  23. Strange, as that's exactly what I do, unlock the car, open the door, then shove the key in the door handle. Not once has the car beeped at me.
  24. 2020 NX 300h Remote boot lid works but, I don't have the windows up / down feature. It might depend on which grade of NX you have. It is very common for cars to be fully programmed, with some features blocked depending on model variant
  25. I used to like the send to car feature in the maps section. Now the whole map section is useless. It'll show you your car, and the destination, with nothing in between on how to get there!
