  1. Apparently the best time to seek a renewal quote online is between 6-9am 21-30 days prior to renewal date. 😉 Yep, it's got that technical 🖥️ . Certainly worth a try though. 😊
  2. Lots of name dropping going on here! Our family retriever was called Bentley ... does that count? 😂
  3. Hey Dan ... DAN ... ARE YOU THERE? 🤔 Rather than just typing the occasional "try us" post it would be wonderful if you could join in the discussion to give us the benefit of your wealth of experience. 😋 I'm sure that you'd be made to feel extremely welcome and your working knowledge would be even more so! 🤩 You never know, you might even get more business as a result!?! 😳 (That should wake him up! 🤫 ) Still hoping to hear from you Dan ...
  4. Buy cheap ... buy twice!
  5. Here's a YouTube assist for a 2010-15 RX, presumably similar enough to ours to establish a procedure, so I hope it helps. I too am intrigued ... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PKqlZL4JjeY
  6. My guess is because if you underestimate the value at inception and when claiming it turns out that your car is worth more then the insurer has a ready made argument to settle using the lower amount. Then if you place a higher than market value on your car at outset the insurer can argue for setting a higher premium. Insurer win-win. Insured lose-lose.
  7. So I think I know who you're going to be having more looooooooong conversations with! 😄
  8. Not wishing to rain on your parade but I believe that it's more appropriate for an earlier generation to be labelled with this banner, those born in the 10-20-30's for they've seen much more so can add ... Many lived through 11 different decades! Two World Wars! A separate telephone and handset, to a party line! BBC not yet on radio! What is this word "video"? The horse drawn milk cart! Gas street lighting! They were the ones who "saw it all". RIP Mum 1916-2019. ❤️
  9. Nothing wrong with being 'old school' John but having to stop every few miles to read a map and/or find out/check where you are must be actually quite tedious, at least I would find it so. Now if you have your own human navigator sitting beside you then that's different 😄 . But then maps can't steer you around traffic congestion so to reflect on the OP I would have to say find a satnav system that works for you and that provides relatively faultless information. Everything's relative 😉 . Nothing in this world is perfect but I find that my iPhone maps are accurate and adequate for my needs and yes, perhaps they might occasionally go wrong but that's life ... although it hasn't happened to me yet! 🤞 Sticking with old technology, or indeed no technology at all, is still attractive to some and is most certainly heart warming, but it can be a timewaster in the modern world ... and even maps can go out of date and cannot always be relied upon. Happy travels everyone ... or do I mean travails? 😂
  10. Great shout! But it's so old it's not supported by my latest Mac OS so still none the wiser 🙄 .
  11. So it's not just the climate then! 🤫
  12. Oh envy be my friend (excl cortisone of course) 😊 .
  13. Thanks David, for letting me know what it ISN'T ☺️ ... I'd now quite like to know what it IS! 😊
  14. On topic, it's caused me to think ... thanks to very caring previous owners I've found a disc in amongst the manual folder. Who can enlighten me? I can't imagine it can be anything other than SatNav ...
  15. My SatNav update is called an iPhone 😄 .
  16. As usual the general public will continue to posture & pontificate, even turn rumour & speculation into fact if it really wants to, which is what normally happens so individuals can try and prove their own points. Ultimately the many teams of Loss Adjusters will thoroughly investigate all the real facts, liaise with each other and report to all involved Insurers, not only of each vehicle affected but also the Liability & property Insurers of the site. Eventually decisions and agreements will be reached between all Insurers regarding apportioning financial liability. Each insured will be paid out in accordance with their individual policy T&Cs and then, by way of book balancing, insurance premiums may need to be adjusted by each individual Insurer. It will all take time, potentially years in a case such as this, and I think you will find that the Loss Adjusters are under no obligation to make any of their findings public. But now back to the speculation ... 😋
  17. Oddly enough you could steer any thread into controversial territory if you changed the words and meanings to suit 😄 .
  18. Just turn the one you've got upside down! 🙃
  19. Or ... Είναι όλα ελληνικά για μένα ... to be more accurate! 😁
  20. Yeah, whatever ... it's all Greek to me 😊 .
  21. I could never get my head around Latin, as for the rest of your post I'd say yes Philip, harsh but fair! 😐 Of course one could always buy an older (pre CANbus) model to try and avoid the threat of tea leaves or scrotes and still enjoy similar comforts. Not sure about the renewal premium yet, I'll be finding that out in Feb 🤞 .
  22. This thread reminds me of a long drawn out doubles tennis match, but without a final result! Keep going guys ... 😆
  23. Like Andrew, that smacks to me of wheel balance, maybe alignment/tracking too. Find a local independent tyre specialist (preferably not Halfords or Kwik-Fit!) who knows what they're doing. Tracking/alignment should cost around £40-£50 tops. BTW ... your Duelers are Summer tyres (and expensive ones at that!) so should be giving you at least 15k miles, probably more IMHO. But then it's also down to how you drive.
