2019 Lexus UX F-Sport Tail light marks
ALAW replied to UX250h's topic in Lexus UX250h / UX300h / UX300e Club
Hi Gary Yes I have experienced this. Significantly more than than what you are posting. It surprised me as well especially as the lights are LED so heat shouldn't be an issue. I wasn't happy so I had it in to the dealer I took some pics and sent them to dealer. Arranged a date to go in. They changed them for new ones. I have seen this occur since. -
Thanks for that Herbie

As many of us thought.......from today`s Daily Telegraph
ALAW replied to royoftherovers's topic in Lexus General Discussions
It had to come didn't it taxing EV. The budget in April will see a rise in Fuel Duty. So more expensive to motorists there are a lot of us. Something I've been saying for a number of years now that was mentioned in the article is road pricing. There is no doubt this will come in just a matter of when. I think the Chinese question has to be taken very seriously a few differences of opinion on here on this. However I think the government are concerned and attempting to do something. Question :-What price per mile do you think will be introduced for road charging. -

New to Lexus…. a few questions.
ALAW replied to Uncle Bod's topic in Lexus UX250h / UX300h / UX300e Club
Regarding number 3. Having the Takumi you will have this kick function. You may have to look in the settings or customization in the manual. This will also inform of the correct way to do the kick and where. Mind it doesn't work every time. -
Good info Colin. I haven't got it but a couple of neighbor's have who have south facing roofs which the panels are mounted on. You mentioned bird protection. How does this work i believe birds have nested under these neighbor's panels (Doves/Pidgeons)and they are always around. Does bird muck affect the panels. Just wondered what the bird protection is and how it works.

Evening Folks my mate got back to me about using v power in his Mitsubishi E cross. He calculated the difference cost wise in respect of using v power as opposed to E10. Using E10 he was getting 33 mpg that worked out at 22.9p per mile. If he used E5 he got 38mpg and that worked out at 21.3p per mile conclusion cheaper to use E5 at 1.6p per mile cheaper. So a few of you recommended using V power and my mate has done this and he thinks this is definitely the way forward. Some of you mention mixing the fills between one and the other. I always remember Honest John saying use v power or BP ultimate. Before I forget my mate has the shell app and you get 3% off. I think he said your allowed to fill with a fixed amount of v power per month he was well within it.

my mate is considering a kia sportage looked at one he said very nice car.
-
This is what my mate is doing he also did a bit of reading up about this and he came to same conclusion. Ill give him a ring he was going to see if he got more mpg. he drives a Mitsubishi e cross I think it is says it is quite heavy on juice.

Lexus Dealer Service in Under One Hour...
ALAW replied to NemesisUK's topic in Lexus General Discussions
While we are on about servicing i remember you could have a video of it being worked on and they would call you up if something needed more attention. Cant remember think it was BMW or Audi. I dont think it would be a bad thing if they had a vid over the bay when your car was been serviced you could then see the service carried out. -

Lexus Dealer Service in Under One Hour...
ALAW replied to NemesisUK's topic in Lexus General Discussions
Yes Peter I too would be cynical. Regarding hourly rates they vary quite a bit between dealers or they used to. The last time I rung a dealer up I think it was Audi or BMW varied between them one would be say £170per hr the other £160. I just wonder if something is a foot longer delivery times, Toyota servicing Lexus but i think other dealers and manufactures similar times are funny Mmmmm -
Dealer using customer's car for business use
ALAW replied to MadJam250's topic in Lexus General Discussions
Martin what you describe is shocking I share your frustration. You have had some good advise from our colleagues on here. My experience previously when ringing manufactures they always refer to the dealership every time. As pointed out ensure Lexus UK directors are sent letters if they have anything about them they wont like what they hear. Your gripe is with the dealer so it wouldn't hurt ensuring Listers directors or the director for the franchise is also sent a letter. I once had a issue with a VW body shop years ago. I eventually got the owner to meet me with their business manager. They were shocked at what I showed them too long to describe on here. They asked me what I wanted to put things right. They did what I asked. like you have been told on here I had a timeline lists of visits phone calls who spoke to etc. I know this wont be of much comfort to you but I wish you all the best. i really do and i know others on will as well. -
Any mortgage brokers or equity release bods in the Club?
ALAW replied to Herbie's topic in Lexus Owners Club Lounge
Good luck Herbie. Be careful though as Malc points out we are in a very unstable time economically. Many people have had mortgage offers declined due to uncertainty in the interest rates. Don't be afraid to take the house off the market seriously as pointed out above do what is best for you and the wife. Regarding bungalows its quite a job to get one. We live in an area where no more will be built. I take an interest looking at various planning decisions and you regularly see that developers don't put enough bungalows in there mix or affordable housing. I repeat don't be afraid to take the house off the market. -
I keep hearing that Hydrogen is not dead.

Aye and them politicians have created the energy shambles we are In now. Talk of restricted use with companies having staggered start times so not to overload the grid.

Thanks Len excellent contribution and knowledge.

Thinking of coming back to the fold.....
ALAW replied to holly1's topic in Lexus UX250h / UX300h / UX300e Club
You lose a little bit of boot capacity will use a little more fuel. The main reason I wouldn't have the AWD is I don't think what driving I do requires it. Admittingly in snow ice etc. will handle the road better but what small amount of snow we get I don't think would justify having AWD. It is a good spec though but not for me. -

Tyre pressures vis-à-vis hypermiling
ALAW replied to KingHal's topic in Lexus UX250h / UX300h / UX300e Club
Im a Yorkshireman Henry like you i was taught same smooth look ahead anticipate. Mine came with the Bridgestone runflats the TPM reads 2.3bar. Cant remember the motorbikes but my dad had a Vincent 500. -
Im eering on the side of the petrol produced nowadays is a better product so maybe no need for an additive but i think occasionally will fill up with E5 or the super stuff or half a fill now and again.
-
That is an interesting point to the debate Len.

Thanks for your contributions very interesting. I'm still in the what to do mode for the best so I still haven't decided.
