  6. You've reminded me Gary to havea look in the manual i too never use them but i think in certain situations they are useful. I watched a vid and sure it said something about regenerative braking. To be honest like you i let the cvt do the business for me.

  10. Yes your correct Peter i am happy for this to be.
  11. Yeah i hear what your saying Len. I park so my doorbell camera gets triggered if any motion i have a floodlight on sensor but to be honest not a lot of car theft here. Turning the internal sensor off I'm quite happy for this if car was broken into alarm would go off. Pretty sure its a bug of some description car parked at work in country.
  12. Well the alarm went off again the other night. I have now decided to switch the internal theft sensor off. It is now a matter of reminding myself to do it every night. The last time it went off a moth flew out not seen anything this time must be a little critter. There was no attempted theft or anything. So from now on I'm pressing the internal sensor to off.
  13. Yeah Conti,s on my radar as well John when time comes.
  14. So sad to hear this about John's passing. I remember when I joined he was one of the first to welcome me and he Dm,d me informing how to use the forum. I hadn't clicked something and it wasn't posting. I rung him up to thank him most unusual for me to do this. A lady answered must have been Margaret, ill just get him for you. We had a chat a good chat put the world to right about cars dealers etc. We both had followed honest john over the years. Any how ill have to go now he said where did you get my number. From your DM i said ooh replied John. Massive contributor to this forum will be sadly missed thank you Sarah for posting. He will be reading the handbook now with a glass of Rioja to hand. Good to see forumites contributing well done all. RIP John.

  20. The CRV i had the gearbox was notchy and it apparently was a known fault. I discovered it was known on the HJ website. When i addressed this with the dealers master technician he didn't know i stood next to him while he rung HQ up they said yes and we are working on a fix. There was also a problem with the petrol flap the hinge it caught the main skin on the inside and paint was scraped off they checked other cars in the compound and lots were like this they told me. Apart from this we liked the car but couldn't live with the gearbox.
  21. James i too have thought about this i have same as you on Bridgestone Turanza come next Autumn i reckon i will be requiring a change . I have been thinking about Dunlop apparently they are a quieter tyre but im still open to suggestions.

You can choose where to take the course they are usually around 3 or 4 hrs allow for registration. Most can be done online nowadays they have made it very straightforward and easy. Your right its a cash cow.
