  1. Great post Malc. I am writing a post to Scott, which will answer your question… Yes, the LS400 sits supreme ....... even the green Shabu-Works one in the above piccy…!!! Cheers Kevin
  2. Hello Scott from Devon. I am Kevin from Cornwall. I find your post interesting. I am also a fan of Japanese cars. My wife and I have had several Honda’s and a few Lexus’s… I had an LS 400 back in 2000. I am showing my age now ! The LS 400 was the best vehicle, especially for its ride, when there were two sections of concrete on the M5, between Exeter and Bristol, a trip I often made. When one of my partners had a trip up the M5 to do, they would always ask to use the LS 400. You didn’t know you were on the concrete, the ride was so good…! I remember the Lexus Sales Manager at Plymouth, talked me into changing the wheels, to the Lexus option wheels. The car looked much better, but the ride was worse, in fact it was terrible…! I wished I hadn’t listened to the Sales Manager. I read that you prefer stiffer suspension, but the LS 400, with its normal wheels and tyres, was the best car for its ride, that I have ever owned. I agree with Malcolm’s post… My partners and I sold our business in 2002, and I kept the LS 400. I stupidly bought a BMW 750i, and traded in the LS 400… More money than sense…! I now have an LC 500, nearly 20 years later, and that’s probably 90% the same ride…! The LC 500 forum members, wont agree with me, but its, nearly, as good as the LS 400 for its ride…! But the LC 500 is still a great car…! Couple of photos attached. I used to go down into the quarries that I had in the LS 400. When my son was home he would often wash my cars for me…!
  3. Hello Chris, I hope you and your family are all safe and well. I have been watching several you tubes from Drift Games, of their boys in Ireland, restoring an SC400 Soarer… I would imagine whoever bought it, paid top money, and is very pleased… They made a brilliant job of it... Can you put a photo of yours on the Forum…? My LC500 Convertible, ordered in early November last year, has arrived from Japan. Its due to arrive in Edinburgh on March 3rd… It's going from Portbury to Edinburgh, and then to Carlyon Bay in Cornwall…! They have to PDI it. When it arrives they will send me a video of it. I will post it on the Forum. The video below is interesting. It's -6C, and he's enjoying driving it...! The video definitely looks like it was exactly as it happened...? The Concierge was obviously working well...! Hopefully I can drive it with the roof down when it arrives...! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cvKoUF1MAis Cheers Kevin PS My LS 400's, I had two, were one of the best cars that I have owned...
  4. Hello Gerry, I hope you and your family are all safe and well. My Convertible, ordered in early November last year, has arrived from Japan. Its due to arrive in Edinburgh on March 3rd… It's going from Portbury to Edinburgh, and then to Carlyon Bay in Cornwall…! The BMW, Merc and Lexus family owned dealerships, have all been very good to deal with… Their sales teams are more disciplined, and polite, than many of the bigger boys…! This is my 8th vehicle from them… They have to PDI it. When it arrives they will send me a video of it. I will post it on the Forum. https://www.easternwestern.co.uk/ This video is interesting. It's -6C, and he's enjoying driving it...! The video definitely looks like it was exactly as it happened...? The Concierge was obviously working well...! Hopefully I can drive it with the roof down when it arrives...!
  5. Probably about 3 weeks Banji. Looking forward to it...! The SC430 was only on my driveway for about a year... I don't keep cars for very long, but I think the LC 500 Convertible might be one of my cars for a longish time...!
  6. I remember my SC430, although it was 18 years ago... nice car...! My LC500 Convertible is due to land in the UK on 23rd Feb. I am advised it should be delivered to me 7 to 10 working days later... So, not that long to wait...! I have gone for Terrane Khaki with Ochre and a Beige roof... This video is interesting. It's -6C, and he's enjoying driving it...! The video definitely looks like it was exactly as it happened...? The Concierge was obviously working well...!
  7. Also, Wow…! Reading our posts. I think we both owe our lives to the Air Ambulances. I don’t like helicopters that have tail rotor blades, made by an American company called HTC, because they can break up… In my case @ 2,200 feet up… I know we are on the Lexus Forum, but I have looked at a couple of you tubes of the RR Wraith. I can see why its very helpful to you if your leg is in plaster…! Just press a button, and the door closes…! If you broke your leg in 3 places your leg must be well plastered… I also like the way you can get the brolly, if its raining when you get out…! Cheers Kevin
  8. Sorry to hear about your accident. Three months ago, how much longer do you think...? Obviously very serious breaks...? I also drive only a couple of times a week, and not very far, because of an accident. But I still enjoy my cars... I am looking forward to the Convertible arriving in March...! If I would have known that tail rotor blades can break up, I would have never learnt to fly helicopters... I don't tell many people that when I passed my motorbike test @ 16, I bought a Reliant Robin...! I thought buying a bigger motorbike wasn't a sensible thing to do... It did help me pass my car test 1st time...!
  9. Yes Malcolm, the Pandemic has caused problems with car dealers… but Lexus dealers should still be dealing with customers the same as before the Pandemic. Snows should have updated my Navigation... I have never received a reply to two emails, one I sent on the 3rd Dec, the other on the 10th Dec, which is below… with no name… Hello *****, So the MM19 update is only currently available in America, not the UK…? Regards Kevin So, I never completed the email I received, about my experience with dealing with Snows… Perhaps I should have, to say they are crap...! My Convertible is not coming from Snows anyway…! Cheers Kevin
  10. See Steve's post above... "I don’t think you can fault the car technically, I must say I really enjoyed my Jaguar XK coupe and the convertibles and do think Jaguar made a backward step with the introduction of the F type." "I am sure that the Lexus convertible will be the market leader as there is not much out there to contest it" I have attached my spec... Cheers Kevin Convertible Ordered.pdf
  11. Hi Ben, Yes, I think Chris is correct... The various magazine articles, and youtube reviews, have said that the Inspiration Series were destined for America. A J found one in the UK, and posted on the topic LC500 Soft Top. The Lexus Cardiff Facebook site, shows one of their customers getting one on 9th October. I have lost count how many convertibles that I have owned. I am looking forward to my Convertible arriving in early March… The savagegeese LC500 Convertible youtube review, helped influence me to buy one… The video also says that Lexus will be building between 200 and 300 Convertibles a year… It also mentions, towards the end, that the Inspiration Series is a really limited production… Cheers Kevin
  12. I booked my car in with Snows Plymouth, and brought forward my MOT, because of the email below... "I have booked an appointment with collection & return for the 8th and return on the 9th we will complete the MOT ( First MOT isn’t due until 30th Jan 2021 so you will loose a bit of time ) set the TPMS winter settings, Carry out a complimentary visual health check & complete the F.O.C Multimedia update to MM19." I ended up only paying for the MOT, and no updates were done, see below...
  13. Hello Malcolm, see my post in New Owner - First thoughts and faults, posted on Dec 14th... I will take a couple of photos of my software update screens. And post them on the Forum...
  14. All the various reviews are good. I particularly like the review by Savagegeese… https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DZfAW6NqASY&t=16s Stephen, Lakeside, is the only Forum member who has posted that he has one... Stephen said in one of his posts... I am sure that the Lexus convertible will be the market leader as there is not much out there to contest it. I had some good news yesterday, my dealer thinks, dependant on Covid restrictions, I should get mine in early March.
  15. Hello Steve Hopefully the Pandemic will be sorted by our Government in the next few months… The news about the vaccines being delivered, is very positive… My Lexus Link, yesterday, changed to ‘Left The Factory’, and I also got an email. My dealer has checked, and it isn’t expected to land in the UK until 23rd February… and he says it will still be ready for delivery in March… I recently retired from Property Development, to spend more time at home with my wife, who has MS. I am still currently involved with Property Development, which fortunately, can continue, with Covid restrictions. I have bought the adjacent house, and I am extending and improving it. I also have a permission for a new build adjacent to it… Are you saying that the convertible needs a bigger windbreak than the one that the car comes with…? Picture attached… I have found the review below very interesting. It saves having to read the Owner’s Manual when my convertible finally arrives…! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BSBA842csiA I have also had an SLC, great car, but not as good as the LC 500 Convertible…! Stay safe Cheers Kevin
  16. Hello Steve, I think we will soon read posts from other Convertible owners on the Forum. I remember another couple of convertibles that I only owned for a few months. A BMW Z4 and a Mercedes C43AMG... I am very much looking forward to my LC 500 convertible arriving... I think if friends of mine wanted to have a bet with me, that I wouldn't keep the LC 500 Convertible longer than I have kept other convertibles, they would lose...! Cheers Kevin
  17. Hello Steve, I hope you and your family and friends, and any business colleagues, are all safe and well. Good to read that you are happy with your convertible, and can’t fault it technically. Even though I am still waiting for mine, I also think it will be a market leader. I also think, I will keep mine for a couple of years. You will see my posts in the Topic, Apple Car Play, that I don’t keep my cars very long…! I kept my helicopter for longer than any car in the last 30 years… I am more than happy with my Coupe Sport+. I shouldn’t have waited nearly 20 years to have another Lexus… When my partners and I, sold our Group of Companies in 2002, and I had a few more bob in the bank. I went to my local BMW Dealer and bought a BMW 750i… Thinking back it wasn’t as nice as the LS 400…! How many Lexus’s have you owned…? Was the LC 500 Coupe your first…? I have my Concierge set up on my Coupe, and it works very well… Have you watched the Canadian video, where the reviewer drives it with the roof down @ -6C, and he's enjoying driving it...! The video definitely looks like it was exactly as it happened...? The Concierge was obviously working well...! I would imagine that you can drive your convertible with the roof down at the moment, when you are allowed to, and the Concierge will do what it is designed to do…? Reading the latest news about the vaccine being delivered, is encouraging… I hope you haven’t any business problems because of the Lockdown. Cheers Kevin
  18. I had an LS 400, 20 years ago. In those days, there were several Motorways and By Passes, that had some concrete sections. I regularly used to drive between Exeter and Bristol on the M5, which had two concrete sections. The LS 400 was a great car, you didn’t know if you were on the concrete, or the asphalt surface, the ride was so good… The Sales Manager at Plymouth, where I bought the car. Talked me into changing the wheels, which made it look better...! The wheels were a Lexus Option... The ride up and down the M5 was not the same... I shouldn't have been talked into changing the wheels, to the Lexus option wheels, that were available at the time... I changed to another car, a few months later... and I didn’t have another Lexus until November this year. I bought an LC 500 and the ride is very good... Has anybody else experienced the difference in the super ride that the LS 400 has, being compromised by changing the wheels...?
  19. Hello AJ, I hope you and your family and friends are all safe and well. I haven't heard from Stuart, regarding how I rate the NSX, I hope he is safe and well. I have been watching you tube reviews of the NSX, and I am very tempted to buy another one to put in one of my garages. I bought mine new from Honda Chiswick, and I see that I can now buy one for about half the price...! Have you ever been in an NSX, or do you know anyone that has had one...? I thought it was better than the McLaren that they took back... Stuart's question to me regarding the NSX, has certainly made me want another one... Honda Chiswick fitted a plug for me to easily connect the CTEK trickle charger... Stay safe Kevin
  20. Just looked at their Facebook site, thanks A J. When I received an email, and my Lexus Link changed to Build in Progress. I did ring Sean, and he checked his systems, and said it was looking like late March early April. The internet says Japan has serious issues with Covid, like many other countries, so it might be later... I read in one of your posts on, What car next?, that you wrote, my last M4. I presume you have had a couple of M4's ? I have had two M4 convertibles, and they were good...! I don't know if you read my post to Ryan on, Apple Car Play...? I thought I would write it, because I don't like reading the words... "Pathetic from Lexus..." I think Ryan is a youngster, probably not old enough to drive, and spends a lot of his time on the internet... I see one of his posts was at 3.54 AM...! Stay safe Cheers Kevin
  21. Hello Steve, I hope you and your family and friends, are all safe and well. I see you became a member of the Forum in March and your first post was yesterday…! So, I presume you have read several of the Topics on the Forum. I had an LS 400, 18 years ago. In those days there were several Motorways and By Passes, that had some concrete sections. I regularly used to drive between Exeter and Bristol on the M5, which had two concrete sections. The LS 400 was a great car, you didn’t know if you were on the concrete, or the asphalt surface, the ride was so good… I stupidly changed it for a BMW 750i, and I didn’t have another Lexus until November this year. I bought an LC 500 Sport +, and its great… I only started reading about the Convertible in early November. I have attached my order for a Convertible. I have mentioned in the Topic, LC500 Soft Top, that savagegeese did several youtube reviews of cars. He has done a 44 minute review of the Coupe, and a 14 minute review of the Convertible... @ 8 minutes, he comments in the convertible video, about how much nicer the ride is in the Convertible... He says that anyone with a severe case of haemorrhoids, the convertible will be your dream car...! Do you find the Convertible to be a different/better ride than your coupe…? In the Topic, LC500 Soft Top, Chris (wendle), also mentions that he has test driven the Convertible… I did like my R8’s and my F-Type SVR and my M4 Convertible, but I think the LC 500 Convertible will be a great car… Cheers Kevin PS Have you seen the video where a convertible is driven in -6C, with the hood down…? Convertible Spec.pdf
  22. Hello Steve, you are a very lucky guy. I have had several convertibles, but having seen several you tube reviews, I bet your very pleased with it. Your post says Dec, so I presume, even with Lockdown, you have driven it a few times...? There is a video that I posted in the Topic, Apple Car Play, where a guy drives one in Canada at -6C, with the roof down. The concierge and neck heaters must work very well...! I ordered mine on 6th November, and my Lexus Link, last Sunday, said that Build was in progress. I rang my Lexus dealer and he thought it should arrive late March early April... When did you order yours Steve...? Enjoy it...!
  23. Ryan, Can you please answer the question that John (royoftherovers) asked, twice, on Dec 15th, on page 3 of the following Topic… New owner – First thoughts and fault. Can you please also mention if your current car has Apple Car Play… Please be honest… I am familiar with Apple Products. I use an iMac Pro, a Macbook Pro laptop, an iPad and an iPhone. You will read in this topic some of the cars that I have had. The cars mentioned, are less than 50% of the cars I have owned in the last 15 years. I appreciate that having/using Apple Car Play is a personal choice, but I have never used it, even in the cars that I could, that have had it installed… PS I have spent some time looking at the Forum, and I think you are the only Forum member that doesn’t show, that they own a Lexus, have ever owned a Lexus, or what Lexus they are hoping/intending to buy…
