Good to read your first post Eddie. Great name of the Topic...! Thanks for your comments about my help. I am sure that all the other LC 500 owners on the Forum, would have also helped influence you to buy a great car... As you can read on the Forum, all Lexus's are great cars. But the flagship model is brilliant...! I am sure you will enjoy it...

You can in an MD 500E. But you need to make sure it doesn't have HTC tail rotor blades, because they can break up @ 2,200 feet above Glastonbury...

Who's got or ordered a Convertible

Your Posts Ben and Mike, brought back some memories of my Nissan GTR. Often, when I went back to it, at our local Waitrose store, there would be youngsters trying to look in through the windows. I would sometimes say… “don’t go to close, Darth Vader is inside…!” The GTR certainly attracted attention… whilst it was parked…! -
Who's got or ordered a Convertible

Hello Banji, I have been reading some of your previous posts, and this one made me smile…! I remember my wife's comment to my son when I bought a brand new Lexus NX and had gone to Derby to pick it up. Upon arrival at home she called my son and said "come and look your daddy has bought a new Qashqai" after that I didn't talk to her for one day. Just spent over £42k on a car only for the other half to call it a Qashqai ! The LC 500 Convertible is definitely a great, unique car…! I have lost count how many ‘nice’ cars that I have owned. But thinking back, the Convertible is better than my McLaren 540C, my new NSX, my Taycan 4S, my MB’s and my 911’s… It’s a great ride, in all of the driving modes… It’s engine and 10 speed auto/manual box is brilliant… and it definitely turns heads, when I am out and about… It was 5C, when I was out in it a few days ago. I had the roof down and the Concierge System worked so good, the roof stayed down...! Regards Kevin -

Hello Banji, I don't know if you have read about the latest Gocycle G4...? I deal with the Fully Charged Bike shop in London... I have ordered one... it will make me feel younger...! Like the LC Convertible does...! -
Sorry, I meant to send this one... This is the best one I have viewed... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vGg4bk1hGDw

This one is brilliant of the Coupe… https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tHp-ZI5mFnY This very long one, saves you having to refer to the owner’s manual… https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uq1j7GIDmPM I also had 1KSW, but sold that one recently… I also had G-KSWI on my helicopter… Boys and their toys…! The Convertible is a better ride than my Coupe. But the Coupe’s ride was also great… Enjoy your LC 500… I am sure you will… As other Forum members who drive LC 500’s… also know you will…

20 years ago. I had an LS 400, that was such a great ride, I shouldn’t have changed it, when I sold my business, and my bank balance told me I could change it… More money than sense…! After owning several different cars I finally bought another Lexus, a 2018 LC 500 Sport+ in Nov last year. After watching several youtube reviews of the new Convertible, I placed an order for one… I haven’t got haemorrhoids!, but these videos influenced me to buy one… https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DZfAW6NqASY&t=16s https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cvKoUF1MAis I am glad I did buy one, because it’s a great car… Enjoy your great car…

Welcome to the LOC Graeme. Unbelievable, that you had to register a complaint to Lexus GB, to buy one of their great cars, and in a great colour...

I had the Standard, and then bought the Long Range, not for the additional range, but for the AWD, for the winter months… Living where I do, there are numerous roads, that don’t get gritted by the Council… The very poor build quality is noticeable, and having an iPad, for various controls, was weird…! Elon is trying to become the richest man in the world, not the 2nd, as he currently is…! His interest, is his own wealth, not the quality of the cars, that don’t have adequate quality control systems… There are many that will disagree with me... I am hoping that there will soon be more youtube reviews of the 300e, when there are more cars in the UK… This one is good… https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v2rNfUIcIuM I am thinking of changing my Honda e for a 300e, because I want to be able to put my wife’s powerchair, and my Gocycle in, easily, and go to the Camel Trail, or somewhere similar… And also because it’s a Lexus, which no doubt, will have a quality finish, as is expected of Lexus…!

My Convertible is indeed very stunning. Its ride is superb. You shouldn't need to cross your fingers for some good news. Being a Lexus, the news and updates this week, should be very good...!
-
Hello Rayaan, I am thinking of changing my Honda e for a UX 300e. I have had a couple of Tesla Model 3's, never again...! When your wife has driven a few miles, and you have charged it a couple of times. Can you post what your thoughts are regarding it's range...? I also cant find any youtube reviews that have been done in the UK. Be good to see a couple... I think, because it's a Lexus, it should tick all the boxes regarding owning one...!
-
I hope you had some good news Petr...? How long are Lexus advising you, that you will be without your LC 500...? My Convertible is now in my garage, and the Ochre interior is very nice...!
-
The Forum members and I, hope yesterday was a good day, and your LC 500 is being repaired quickly...?
-
My thoughts John, are similar to yours… Your salient points in your post, make a lot of sense… I think Japan’s car manufacturers will surprise us all, sometime soon… I have a Honda e, and it's great. I don’t need any range, because I drive very little. I have a home charger fitted outside, and I can charge it, quickly and easily… Honda do make most things…! It will be interesting to hear about their next car models… https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Honda_Aircraft_Company Can you elaborate on your post…? Your post reads like you have a background involved with cars…? What do you think the car magazines, and the internet, will be possibly mentioning…?

The Honda e is a great car, if you only need, no more than 100 miles from the battery. I have a home charger outside, so I can charge it quickly and easily. I have had two Accords and a Legend, before my LS 400. My wife has had several Honda's. She liked the 4WS that turned both ways in the Prelude... -
I think the Lexus Option wheels were fitted by Lexus Plymouth to my 2nd LS 400... Both my LS 400's were great cars... My LC 500 is also a great car... On Saturday I get my Convertible... and Savagegeese says the ride is even better...! But I don't have haemorrhoids...! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DZfAW6NqASY&t=16s

Don't know...! I will leave it to the LS400 experts...! I did have two LS400's, both in the same colour... The photos might show both of the cars... I think the photo showing my KSW1 plate was my 2nd... I regularly drove from Cornwall up country to view and buy quarrying gear... The 1st LS 400 was sold with 110k on the clock... The 2nd was bought from a used car dealer in Bristol... I remember it had a GOLD something...? When I sold my quarries in 2002... I kept the 2nd LS400, and I stupidly went to the local BMW dealer, and traded it in for a 750i... more money than sense...! I don't know why I waited nearly 20 years to have another Lexus... My two LS 400's were great cars...! Whatever year they were, and whatever Mk they were...!
-
A question Howard... Have you been in an LS400 that has non standard wheels fitted...? As Malc has said, the ride in his car has always been superb...! You might have to learn, like I did, if you change your wheels... I wished I hadn't changed mine 20 years ago... Roads might be better now, because I haven't been involved with the Black Stuff for 20 years...!

In your first post, you mentioned that you moved to the UK after University for your first job… I have just read your private message reply, thank you. I can see that you will be well able to sort the paintwork problem, to your satisfaction…! You will be able to google what your legal rights, are a lot quicker than most Forum members…! Please keep the Forum up to date with your dealings with Charles Hurst and Lexus UK. Hopefully it doesn’t take too long for the paintwork to be repaired… I think that you have been very unlucky to receive a brand new car from Lexus, that’s quality control issues, in Japan, were not carried out as they should have been… I think Lexus UK, will sort THEIR PROBLEM, as quickly as they can… And you get to enjoy the LC 500. What version did you buy…? I will reply to your private message later, but not being able to attach anything using private messaging… If you look at Who’s got or ordered a Convertible, and Apple Car Play, in the LC500 Coupe Club section, there are a couple of attachments, relating to my problems in flying my own helicopter… I hope, and think, Monday will be a good day, regarding news about your Lovely LC 500…

Hello Howard, I thought I would mention that when I had my 1999 LS400, twenty years ago. It was a great car, especially for it’s very comfortable ride… I bought it from Lexus Plymouth, as well as an SC430, and was friendly with the Sales Manager. I was talked into changing the wheels on my LS400 to the better looking, Lexus Option wheels, for the LS400… The car did look better…! 20 years ago there were several sections of concrete roads. The M5 had two concrete sections between Exeter and Bristol. Before I changed the wheels, the LS400’s ride was so good… I didn’t know when I was on either of the concrete sections. All I felt was the slight bump when going from the tarmac onto the concrete… and vice a versa… With the Lexus Option wheels fitted, the ride changed, and when I was on the concrete, I knew it…! The ride was actually terrible…! I shouldn’t have been talked into changing the wheels to the Lexus Option wheels…! Couple of photos attached. I don’t know if the photos were taken, before or after, the wheels had been changed… I am sure other Forum members with LS400’s, must have experienced the very comfortable ride changing, when changing the non-standard LS400 wheels… I know that there are probably only a few concrete roads remaining, but the LS400’s standard wheels, gave my LS400 probably the best comfortable ride than any of the other cars I have had, including Range Rover’s with air suspension…! I will stop waffling now…! One of the photos is of my son washing the LS400. I used to drive it down into my two quarries, and when he was home, he always moaned at me, for getting the LS400 so dirty, and would wash it for me…! If I could find a photo of it, of how dirty I used to get it, and post it on the Forum. I think many LS400 owners would be surprised…!

Petr, if I am not mistaken... I think the Forum owe you a BIG apology... I have been looking back at your 10 posts... Your post of June 3rd 2020, ref... 2013 GS 250 Air Con issue, didn't get a single reply...! Am I correct...? I bet you thought, when you posted about your LC 500's paintwork... I wonder if I get a reply...? Btw, of all the cars I have owned. I still think the best for several reasons, mainly the ride and the comfort, was my LS 400...! I will be sending you a Private Message about my trips to Northern Ireland...
-
Very sorry for getting your name wrong Petr, you learn something everyday...! I very much hope, along with other Forum members, that your lovely LC 500 is sorted for you, Fit for Purpose, as soon as possible. Please keep the Forum aware of how you are being dealt with by Lexus. A couple of my petrolhead friends had their cars picked up, by the dealers that supplied them, because they said they weren't, 'Fit for Purpose'... Neither of the cars were Lexus models, they were both Range Rover Sport SVR's...!
-
Peter, I assume your name isn't Petr... My thoughts, are probably the same as other Lexus owners... Lexus will sort your paint problem out for you... If you had bought a BMW, or even a Mercedes. I would question if you would have difficulties getting it sorted. But because it's a Lexus, it will be sorted to your satisfaction. My experience of dealing with Charles Hurst was very good. I never came over from Cornwall. They provided several videos of the Bentayga, before I bought it, and it was delivered... Photo attached taken at their dealership... You have bought a great car... the LC 500 is a quality car... PS I have been to Coleraine a couple of times, on business. I found the people of Northern Ireland very nice...
