    Hi all, I have just borrowed today a rx400h from a friend and it's actually the first time driving one of them. It doesn't sound like the engine is on after starting because so quiet. Anyway it hardly seems to use the battery power other than at startup. Super comfy and on display it's showing around 23mpg which is terrible, I've only driven 2 motorway trips and a bit of in town driving.

    I have always had japaese cars, the likes of toyota & honda.

    I have actually had 4/5 honda's and they have been great cars although both my accords driveshaft failed and that was an expensive repair. I have noticed that a lot or maybe even most people tend to stick to the same brand forever once they are happy. Why change! If it ain't broke, don't fox it.

    @robpace Sounds like my car sometimes although it's not a lexus, i have a honda. But the noise usually goes away after a few min and driving.

    @Banbury23 I think main dealers rip off with charges and prices but there are advantages like genuine parts & warranty etc. It's annoying when you are told one thing and a word is not kept but you can always call them if necessary.
