  1. Excellent stuff - so it wasn't the car at all in the end, but an aftermarket item 🙂
  2. If it's from that area, have you got memory seats and the "memory button" is being triggered perhaps?
  3. It could be one of tons of things to be honest. Is it a long beep, short beep, multiple beeps etc? Is there a door open? Are you moving? Does it only happen once? Low washer fluid, low oil, low water, handbrake on, door open when moving, boot open when moving, bonnet open when moving, key not detected (low battery), EV mode cancelling due to low traction battery, etc etc etc etc Perhaps you could video it next time it happens showing the dash and the nav screen and also so we can hear the beep
  4. Nope - it was an MOT advisory for 2 years on the same tyres and I sold the GS F with it like that - the tread on the rest of the tyres was all ok so there was no need to change them
  5. Both my GS F and CT200h wear faster on the inner edges of the tyres. My RX450h is too new to comment, but I won't be surprised if it too wears the inner edges faster than the rest of the tyres. It seems to be a Lexus thing
  6. The Driveshaft on your diagram (I thought it was always known as a propshaft in the UK) would not have CV Joints as far as I know (the U-Joints are "Universal Joints") The CV joints would probably be on the Driveshafts (from the differential to the wheels) and are there to allow the transfer of power to the wheels irrespective of the angle of the driveshafts (which varies when going over bumps etc).
  7. After having several Lexus Hybrids, you do have to adjust your driving style from normal petrol cars. For the EV mode, firstly you have to have at least 3 bars of battery. Secondly, as @dublet says, you have to feather the throttle - use the dashboard (or Head Up Display) to carefully only press the throttle enough to stay nicely within the "Eco" area. Go anywhere near the "Power" area and you have too heavy a foot and it will instantly switch off the EV mode. Lastly, if the car deems that it needs to have the Engine running to provide power for something then it will not allow you to engage EV mode. In my 2021 RX, I can normally drive around 3 miles completely in EV mode before it goes down to 2 bars and the engine kicks in.
  8. Just a quick thought. I too heard a "rattle" from the same areas as @rangebyte (from both front side windows actually). I then cracked open the window on one side of the car by the minutest amount (really a tiny press on the window button to lower it by millimetres). The "rattle" stopped immediately. A liberal spray of silicone lubricant on the top and sides of the inside of the window track fixed the problem immediately. Did the same on the other side and all "rattles" now gone
  9. I noticed my RX450h had a similar discrepancy a few weeks ago. I too put it down to what @Zotto says - I heard years ago dealers can reset the mileage once prior to delivery to the customer, so the data sent from the car to the App is picking up the true mileage from somewhere in the ECU I guess.
  10. Yes. Hint: It's in your manual... page 172 of "YOUR NX - OWNER MANUAL" under "One Touch Opening" https://www.lexus.co.uk/forms/manuals/owners-manual
  11. Nikki - Yes - mine does exactly the same noise as yours - I've never queried it and no point in me videoing it as it is exactly the same as yours
  12. Welcome to the forum. All insurance policies sold by the dealers generally net them commissions, hence they like to push them. As for if they are worth it, then that is a difficult question to answer and depends on how risk-averse you are Gap insurance - this will "top up" any insurance payout if the car is a TOTAL WRITE OFF from what the insurance pays out to the original purchase price. The chances of a car being totally written off are very, very small (check on the internet for actual claim rates on GAP insurance). The insurance company payout should enable you to replace your written off car with a like for like so you should not be disadvantaged. If you have bought the car brand new and if the car is written off in that first year, then most insurance companies will replace the written off with a brand new car anyway, so if you decide to take out GAP insurance, it should only start after the car is 1 year old. Tyre and Alloy - this covers repairs to alloys if you scuff them (subject to an excess) - Note they don't normally cover Diamond Cut alloys so check the small print. Also this policy covers the tyres if they are damaged and need replacing (not wear and tear) Paint and Dents - this normally covers any scratches/dents smaller than a specified size (subject to an excess probably). Really, it is up to you as to whether you think you would ever claim on these insurances vs the costs of them. e.g. an alloy wheel repair is typically around £80, so if you damage 1 in the lifetime of the cover, then it wouldn't be worth the £300 cost of the policy. A tyre could be £150 so you would have to have to replace 2 tyres (not for wear and tear) in the lifetime of the policy for it to be worth it. Hope this helps
  13. I just went to the Lexus website and downloaded the manual so may well be a slightly different version to what you are looking at. It's in the Power Back Door section - just do a search or look in the index. What I was really getting at is all the information you need is in your manual. I used to have a 2016 NX so know it's definitely in the manual as I always read them for the cars I own.
  14. Page 118 of your manual explains it all, by the way....
  15. Agreed- check the multi-function display on the dash to see if the opening height has been adjusted, or, alternatively, open the boot, then manually push it open further to the height you want and then hold down the "close" button on the boot until you get a long beep. It should then open next time to the height you've just set.
  16. Just putting a link in here to the ES Forum thread that highlights exactly the same issue.
  17. Will do Paul, and will also point them to the US Forums where they go into detail of the USB Track Ordering Issue https://www.clublexus.com/forums/es-7th-gen-2019-present/925741-usb-tracks-not-in-order.html
  18. I have found exactly the same issues with USB music. I have had an 2015 NX, 2016 RX and 2016 GS F where the "play artist <name>", "play album <name>" and "play song <name>" all worked fine but now on my 2021 RX, with the new multimedia interface, hardly any voice command seems to work (I am using exactly the same USB stick that was in the previous cars and exactly the same commands). The voice commands will work for some things e.g. it doesn't work on "play artist Dire Straits" or "play artist Michael Jackson", but works on "play artist Mark Knopfler". There seems to be no logic to why it works on some artists but not others. I have got round the issue where, when playing an Album, the system plays the tracks in alphabetical order instead of track number order (I changed the "Track" tags on each mp3 file so it had the track number at the beginning - e.g. 001-Track1Name, 002-Track2Name). The voice command then worked on "play song 001-telegraph road" (the command being "play song zero-zero-one-telegraph-road") but that doesn't seem to work with the other 3,300+ tracks I have. But this is not ideal as, if voice commands actually worked, unless you know the track number of the song you want to play, it is impossible to remember them all! It is definitely broken.
  19. Is is almost worth you cancelling your existing insurance, getting a pro-rata refund and going with the new £432 quote for the next 12 months before it increases again
  20. I am insured through the Institute of Advanced Motorists (who use Cornmarket Insurance brokers), but as stated previously, I use Comparison websites to get the quotes. Cornmarket have a policy to beat any like for like quote for IAM members so I get the lowest from the Comparison sites and Cornmarket will beat it. What this whole thread shows, though, is that some people have extortionate quotes and some people have very cheap quotes. There is absolutely no way of comparing one person's quote with another. There is also little point in thinking some (reputable) insurance companies are always cheaper than others - otherwise almost everyone would insure with those and all the others would go under. There are probably well over 100 variables (I am guessing) when Insurance companies work out a premium so unless 2 people have exactly the same 100 variables, the quotes will be completely different. This is also not taking into account the fact that an Insurance company may have too many of a certain type of car or demographic of people on their books, so deliberately give ridiculous quotes to discourage those groups. Likewise, the opposite is true if they wanted to attract a demographic onto their books.
