Hello guys,
I need urgent help, please. My Lexus IS200D 2.2), 2011, was misfiring and was diagnosed as an Injector 2 problem. When injector 2 was changed and a new one fitted, the car started smoking and lost 90% power on the accelerator. There was absolutely no smoke before injector 2 was changed.
The 40-year old diesel specialist garage in London could not figure out what went wrong and why the engine will suddenly smoke just after an injector change. They programmed the injector and the misfiring was gone but power was lost and heavy smoking continued. They took everything apart, including exhaust manifolds and checked as it seems, the car was not breathing properly, intake or outtake problem it seemed. NO LUCK!
I took the car o the main Dealer, Lexus Woodford, Hills Toyota. They were equally baffled. £2100 later at Lexus, a that includes to new injectors, including injector 2, not to mention the previous £400 at MV Motors, the car is still smoking. Hills Toyota/Lexus said, the fuel pump is now misfiring after doing everything to fix the problem. The fuel pump will be an additional £2000 but not guaranteed to stop the smoking or regain power but it is their next logical guess, as they have been guessing from the very first minute, in my view. 2 weeks later, I am stuck and not sure what to do.
Did anyone suffer this experience with a Lexus diesel and can tell me what IS wrong exactly? HELP!!!
Please help!!
