So my 2012 GS250 in Silver is showing serious age. The hood and front quarterpanels are in bad shape and I am thinking to wrap the car
Not a fashion statement but rather an attempt to preserve the service life in a cost effective way
Thoughts? advice?
Thanks in advance

Hi all
Just got told I need to replace a failing AC condenser...Not an urgent repair for me - can anybody guide me on costs here?
My understanding is that AC units are not special (i.e. a competent mechanic should be able to fit a Toyota) - pls correct me if I am wrong here
thanks!

Will this rub or require any alterations?

Curious about the Sport+ mode -report back when you can

You can actually visit the Toyota factory in Japan where they make the Crown and Lexus GS
Production is a process where small errors can compound - the Japanese factory is immaculate - I could see a Japanese produced Lexus being superior

Looking to tap the collective wisdom of Team Lexus
We are moving to a semi-detached house in West London W3 - the area is generally safe but suffers from car theft, petty theft and is near a main street
The house has a backyard, sideyard and private car drive so plenty of places to jump fences and the street does not have CCTV
I am looking for recommendation for a home security / alarm system
Ideally, the system would contain motion sensors (inside), motion lights/cameras for outside and a decent remote monitoring system (app)
Budget ideally under 2k gbp with minimal ongoing service charges
On a thumbsuck, I would look at Banham, Yale, Ring, Simplisafe systems
Thanks in advance!

I didnt - I went for the 100k service 🙂
Dont forget about the upsell

A/C was weak over the summer - I've owned it 2 yrs now -
I dont see an urgent need for AC given the seasons
More than a bit disappointed in the pricing behaviour - I think I need to find another main dealer

Your profile isn't clear as to which car you've got but, assuming it's a hybrid, just make sure that they know what they're doing.
The refrigerant gas is the same but the lubricating oil that circulates around the system with it is different to conventional cars, which use PAG oil. Hybrids use ND11 which is known as a high dielectric oil, which means that it doesn't conduct electricity. PAG oil does conduct electricity and it's been shown that as little as 1% contamination of ND11 by PAG can damage the windings of the aircon compressor motor due to insulation breakdown.

Just got the hard sell from a Lexus dealer at 150gbp - no clue if this is fair value or not?
Quite a sales pitch which makes me skeptical - thanks in advance
Its a GS250

Hi all
I have a 2013 gs250 with 87k miles - the dealer wants to do a 100k service based on age
Good idea or too early? The car sees maybe 1500 miles a yr
Thanks!

one thing - the road tax aint cheap on these w 209g on emissions - may want to consider a 450h or 300h over the long-term - this is coming from a gs250 owner
-
Sounds cherry - you want a car that doesn't sit for long periods of time - 40k for a 2012 is really low - any accidents?

Hi all
This is not Lexus-related but I need a couple of recommendations for a homeowners policy for West London
I am looking for an insurer for homeowners coverage with the possibilty to add auto later - looking for a reputable insurer who actually pays out without too many gotchas in the T&Cs
Better to go directly to the insurer or through a broker?
All advice welcome! Cheers

Super rare configuration no?

So I've got the new TPMS seated - how do I actually program the TPMS to read with the system?
The local mechanic has no clue
Thanks in advance!

Thanks I did end up buying here - fitting it today and will report in a week or two
Hi all
Hopefully a tip for others who will have this problem
The online place (Fish brothers) ship the TPMS without a metal sleeve (this sleeve sits between your alloy rim and the sensor itself). My sleeve was corroded and cracked and the local mechanic had to make a plan
Can anybody source a part number for this sleeve? Much appreciated!
Inserting generic pics - 1st one has a sleeve and the 2nd doesnt

Thought this might be a fun topic
- Assume you live within the M25
- Budget of 10k GBP or less
- Reasonable bang for buck (4 doors, crashability, driving experience, running costs, insurance, MOT, road tax)
