Hi Vance, when the 12V battery died on my 2016 CT200H I contacted my local Lexus dealer and was quoted a price of around £200 to supply and fit for a conventional lead acid battery with only a 12 month guarantee! I found a company on line called batterymegastore.co.uk who supplied me with a AGM battery with a 5 year guarantee for £104 inc carriage. The part number was as follows, I hope this helps. Hi Guys, I have now fitted the new battery and all seems to be OK. Does anyone know if the ECU needs to be updated about the battery change, I know on some cars with smart charging that is the case. Seasons Greetings, Greg

That was my thoughts exactly, that did include fitting!!!!

Just to give you an update. After checking the battery every morning (very low) I was confident that that was what the problem was. Contacted the Cardiff Lexus dealer who quoted me an eye watering £204 for the battery and £35 to fit for a 1 year warrant lead acid battery. I found a company on line called Battery Megastore Warehouse who quoted me £104 for a 5 year warranty AGM battery, which I have just fitted today. So far so good.

Thanks for the suggestions, I will see who is doing the best deal on a new battery. In the mean time I have ordered a booster pack just in case.

Hi All, I have just started to have a problem with my sat nav giving a message "unable to read the ST Data Card, contact your dealer". It happened for the first time last night, but when I arrived home after a journey of 20 miles it started working again after switching the ignition off and back on. This morning (outside temp 0 degrees) it failed again. I checked the 12v battery and had a reading of 11.8v. Could it be that the 12v battery is past its best? The car is a late 2016 with all the bells and whistles. Any one had this happen to them. Greg

I fitted Michelin Primacy 4 fitted recently, and am very pleased with the result.

Perhaps I was a bit harsh to use the term "rip off" but I feel that the proposed increase in premium is totally uncalled for. I will stick to the same tyre size, but be selective in what brand of tyres I choose.

Hi, I am getting close now to having to buy a new set of tyres for my CT200H Premium, the recommended size is 215/45/17W 87 load rating. This is the size of the Yokohama tyres that are fitted to my car. I have been following the posts on changing the size slightly to 205/50/17V or W, in order to reduce the amount of road noise in the car and soften the hard ride a little. This seems to be the route that quite a few forum members have taken, and seem to be pleased with the results. As a precaution, I enquired with my insurance company (Saga Insurance) if this was ok to do and after a 2 day delay they replied that it was OK, but wanted to charge me an additional £62.50 per year for fitting in their words "larger tyres". There is no way I came going to pay extra for something that as far as I can see poses no extra risk to the insurance company. I would be very interested in hearing from anyone who can recommend a quiet 215/45 tyre. Greg

I can't help but wonder what the publics reaction would be, if following Brexit, petrol/diesel pumps returned to displaying the price in gallons instead of litres!

There is no need to panic. If your car is pre 2005 just switch to premium petrol which will still be E5.

I've signed as well.

Hi Guys, Firstly a Happy and Safe New Year to all. Has anyone fitted Alloygator rim protectors to their 17" wheels? I had a perfect set of 4 until I stupidly parked to close to the kerb and damaged the LH front wheel. I am thinking of having a set fitted when I renew my tyres. Cheers, Greg
-
Thanks Brendan, I will follow your example, and change my tyres to 50 profile when the time is right. Greg
-
Hi Brendan, did you notice any drop in performance or reduction in fuel consumption? As you have increased the tyres circumference I wondered if you noticed any difference. This is something I would like to do once my tyres require changing. Cheers, Greg

Thanks Colin.

Thanks, I did have the Sat Nav turned on, I don't have lane departure on my car so it must be the speed camera warning. It's good to know it is not an EMC warning, Thanks Guys

Hi, I am new to ownership of a 2016 CT200H. I have noticed that the car makes a rapid beep beep sound every now and again. At first I thought this was a change of speed limit warning, but this does not appear to be the case. Does any body have the answer to what this noise is supposed to indicate?

Hi, I have a late 2016 CT. If I press the Home button in front of the joy stick the screen shows 3 options, select the Navigation map and you are away!

Hi Martin, Thanks for your advice, I have now tried it with the parking brake set and it works perfectly. Result!!! It makes sense when you think about it, and no I am not planning to by-pass it. Cheers, Greg

Hi Eltel, Because the car was parked in my garage the parking brake was not on. Now I've pressed it the DVD plays perfectly!!!!! Thank you for this information. Best Wishes, Greg

Hi John, thanks for getting back to me. According to the hand book, just putting the DVD into the slot should set everything in motion, which it does up to a point. The sound track plays and a small blue screen appears with a red no entry sign 🚫 (red circle with a diagonal line). There are 2 greyed out buttons at the bottom of the screen, one of which says "FULL SCREEN" the cursor will not move into this area. The DVD is an original . I am aware that you cannot play a DVD whilst the car is in motion, and the hand book tells me this. The car was stationary in the accessory mode switched on only. I thought it would be good to have an alternative to listening to the radio whilst waiting for my wife! Best Wishes, Greg
