So I took the plunge and placed an order with my local dealer - it wasn't easy. About a week ago I told them I had a carwow quote but they didn't / couldn't / wouldn't match it. So I created another rx takumi on carwow with a slightly different spec and when I got their carwow quote I messaged them to say I'd place an order today if they'd honour the carwow quote they'd just sent me. So we went down the dealership and even though it was empty we were kept waiting until I gave them 10 minutes to attend to me or we were leaving ! Talk about pulling hens teeth when try to spend north of £70k - far from stella service but sadly what I've come to expect.... As for the wall charger deal, due to delivery delays I'd be surprised if they honor that offer even though it's effectively their fault. I'm hoping the insurance won't be a problem having read the posts about stolen RX's and companies shying away from insuring them. Now the wait begins - June seems a long way of.....

Interesting, I was originally told March which is just about ok but then it moved out till June which is too long. I'm impatient and last time I bought a RX was from Longo Lexus in LA California and they had a multi story carpark full of Lexus's to choose from and were selling one every few minutes ! Guess I've been spoilt !

Just to close the loop on this thread. We finally got drive a Takumi and were generally impressed with it's fit, finish and performance. On questioning the dealer about delivery for a factory build they say it would be June 2025, but they did have a premium plus in stock. After much deliberation when spending this amount of $$$ we've decided that nothing short of a Takumi built to our requirements would suffice thus we would have to wait till at least June and thus in no big rush to order. Who knows a cancelled order might pop up in the meantime - but for now we're sticking with the NX. A somehat disappointed wannabe RX owner.

Thanks for all the replies / advice - not that I needed convincing but there will be a Takumi in my future, despite the local dealerships sub-par performance in dealing with my needs / desires as a customer. In a nutshell, I know what I want and am ready to order but they are not being helpful with test drives - especially as I've just found they have a 2nd hand low mileage Takumi not quite a year old which I would like to test drive before placing an order, why they didn't mention it or offer it up is beyond me. They also left us sat in the office for an hour while the sales person went to deal with another customer - despite us having an appointment. We left and asked them to e mail the numbers etc - nothing happened. They were also supposed to call today to confirm a test drive in 'something' tomorrow (Sunday) - but no call back to confirm ! Similar problems to when we bought our NX off them. Enough of my moaning - we'll try a different dealer who will hopefully be more on the ball. PS I wonder if the dealer visits this forum!

timdf911 started following RX450h Takumi delivery time ?
-
Hi Guys We've been very pleased with my 2020 nx300h takumi but thought it was time for a change for a nx450h takumi. We went to see the new nx450h but were underwhelmed with the expanse of dash board plastic rather than stitched leather , however an RX450h premium plus caught our eyes with a much nicer interior. So we figured a RX450h takumi would fit my needs - but here in lies the problem. 1. Finding one to have a detailed look. 2. Finding one which available within a reasonable time span - like a few months max. Carwow resulted in some results but so far no available stock.... Question, has anyone taken delivery recently and what was the lead time ?

Android / Apple Carplay

Hi Ed659 - see my post on siri being quiet - turns out carplay sets the voice volume to 1 by default. Not really had chance to play with it much yet - but initial impressions are it seems easier, apart from the audio level from siri which now seems ok. -
Apple carplay volume
timdf911 replied to timdf911's topic in Lexus NX300h / NX200t / NX350h / NX450h+ Club
ok, so I can answer my own question here. The reason siri was so quiet is because the 'voice' setting was turned down to 1, strangely the volume for the Lexus voice was ok. -

I have carplay in my new 2020 model and while the iphone connects to it ok, I currently have a problem with low audio from siri - googling reveals I'm not alone. Not wishing to contaminate this thread - see my post about carplay and low siri audio. -
And yet another question ! I've been trying out apple car play with an iphone 7 connected via usb and found that the volume from siri is very quiet - to point it's barely audible even with the engine off. Googling reveals this is a common problem and the fixes mentioned turning the volume up while siri is talking or using BT doesn't seem to work. Any ideas ? Regards Tim

Another 'newbee' question. I had been using the front camera view with a full set of guide lines to manouver into our garage with about 3" to spare on either side with the wing mirrors retracted - the display was like the rear view reversing camera with lots of guide lines etc - made it so easy. My wife said she'd like to park it in the garage (for the first time) using the same camera setup - but when she selected camera view while in drive all she could get is the birds eye view plus the forward camera but with only minimal guide lines - tried different combinations of gear slection and camera view etc but can only get the full guide lines when in reverse. I've attached some photo's to illustrate. I really don't want her trying to reverse park into the garage - much easier to drive straight in with camera assistance. Any idea how I can get the front camera to display guides like the rear one does ? Regards Tim Guide lines from 360 view Minimal guide lines from front facing camera full set of reversing guide lines - this is what I'd like to see again from front facing camera

Dash cam - fuse box location ?
timdf911 replied to timdf911's topic in Lexus NX300h / NX200t / NX350h / NX450h+ Club
Hi Don, thanks for the great informationand taking the time to post photo's etc - clearly I was looking in the wrong place and hadn't gone far enough with the dismantling. I have all the cables in place and the system works fine for front and rear cameras it was just the DC power which had me beat. I'll let you know how I get on. Edit and 10 minutes later it was done - your photo's made it obvious what to do. PS interesting to see you mounted your rear cam slightly to one side to miss the heating wire - just as I have done ! -
Dash cam - fuse box location ?
timdf911 replied to timdf911's topic in Lexus NX300h / NX200t / NX350h / NX450h+ Club
Hi Guys, reading the handbook is always a good idea and it shows the fuse box is now under the bonnet on the drivers side. So it looks like I'll have to find a switched feed inside the car as I don't fancy running a feed thru the fire wall to the fuse box ! That said, it all seems to work ok powered up all the time - just a question of how much extra discharge load is being applied to the 12V battery. I'll measure how much current the dashcam draws to give an idea of the risk and report back. -
Dash cam - fuse box location ?

Hi Guys, thanks for the replies. Don, do I assume your fuse box wasn't in the passenger foot well ? Luckily I'm a retired electronics engineer so can figure out where to pull power from - might look into the cigar ligher feed if that's switched and run a fused feed from there, but ideally could do with finding the fuse box - must be somewhere or I've missed it. The usb ports are both in use in the center console - one for smartphone USB Carplay and the other for a 64GB usb memory stick for music etc. -
Hi, I'm in the UK and have just taken delivery of a new nx300h takumi. I bought a nextbase dashcam (front and rear) from LPD and the instructions were very clear apart from one issue - the fuse box is not where it should be, in fact I can't find it ! According to the instructions it should be behind a panel in the passenger footwell behind the glove box. There is a fuse box of sorts but it only has two 30 amp fuses plus one slot which has no fuse fitted but which is live all the time. As a stop gap I'm powering the dash cam from this feed, but really want it to only operate when the ignition is turned on to conserve battery power as sometimes we go for 4 or 5 days without using the car. I aslo had a look in the drivers footwell - not there either. Nextbase state: The recommend installation type is an ignition live power supply, this can be either the cigarette lighter cable or hardwire kit. An ignition live power supply means one which is only able to provide power to the Dash Cam when the vehicles ignition is on and running. The hardwire kit includes a voltage protection unit which stops the vehicle battery becoming completely exhausted if a permanently live fuse has been selected. This ensures that you will always be able to restart your vehicles ignition and allow the vehicle battery to recharge. Using an ignition live feed would mean it's not active when parked on the road so maybe I should leave it powered all the time and hope it doesn't drain the 12v battery to the point of being too low to start the engine - bit of a quandary really maybe I should just trust the nextbase low voltage protection. Makes me wonder what the drain is from the 12v battery is for the rest of the Lexus systems ? One other small issue, it said to mount the rear camera in the centre, but doing so causes the heated rear windon element to appear in the picture, so I offset it slightly. Has anyone else tried to fit a webcam to a 2020 nx300h ? I'd be interested in your experiences.
