It was due to the oil pump packing up 😞
-
Hi Guys…
Now that I need an engine for my Ct200
Am I correct in thinking that there are 2 engines types a 136BHP & a 98BHP.
If so how do I know what the BHP would be on the engine I’m going to buy … ?
Thanks
-
Hi thanks for the info…
I did service it regularly but at my friends garage or I did it my self…
I did clean the EGR Inlet manifold & the Throttle body last year.
They were a bit dirty now but not too bad.
My car had 170k miles on the clock I use it to travel to work daily about 100 miles per day.
It’s not the headgaskit because the oil & water are fine they not mixing etc.
I think the oil pump packed up on it & it stopped supplying oil to the engine.
Its going to get striped out in next day or two so I should have a better idea what the cause was.

So not a Gearbox problem, are you covered by the Relax warranty?
I don’t know anything about the Relax warranty?
what’s is the Relax warranty?

Not good news 😞
Had a compression test done on the CT200 today…
Piston 1 : 200 psi
Piston 2 : 180 psi
Piston 3 : 170 psi
Piston 4 : 80 Psi
so the engine is nackered

Nah mate
Never had the oil changed I did consider it at one point but a few people said leave it so I left it .
Iv got some guy coming out today to look at it today let’s see what he says

Hi guys…
A week or two back I posted a post on here regarding my Ct200 breaking down & it’s making a loud banging & knocking sound…
After a few people looked at it the issue seems to be the gearbox.
when in P, D, R, & B the knocking & banging is really bad but when in N the knocking sound goes away… Not completely gone but it’s 90% better.
Any one know this issue or had this issue with their Lexus..,
Cheers .

Thanks mate
Yes getting it recovered to a garage today let’s see what the garage says

Hi guys…
My CT200 is making a loud horrible knocking sound…
I did realise the same sound a few times before but it came & went & only ever did it for a second or two.
But today whist driving the car lost power engine light came on with code P0012 & P3190.
The car does start but it’s a scary noise.
1st question is can it be the EGR valve any one ever experienced this ?
And is it worth cleaning out the valve ???
Thanks

Hi guys..
Yesterday on a motorway journey all of a sudden my oil light came on (red)
Luckily the next service was right there.
I pulled up & checked the oil it was slightly under half. Anyway I topped it back up to the full mark.
The oil light went off so I carried on a few miles down it was back on again.
So I got off the Motorway & it went off again.
I drove on local roads for about 15/20 miles it was fine but as I got back on the motorway it was back on again.
It started flashing then stayed on This time the EM light also came on.
So I pulled up & I have an OBD fault reader tool in my car.
It came up with a fault code P0012 A Camshaft Position Timing Over Retarded Bank 1.
Any one have any idea what this is & why this happened
Cheers

Are they truly interim, or are they auto wipers with an interim setting?
Mine are the latter, with no true interim option, and so the lowest setting can be a bit hit and miss at times, depending on how fast I'm going and how light any rain is.
Sorry your correct I’m in my car now they are Auto wipers… sorry..
Yes mine Also go slow & fast depending on the car speed but now they only work on the fastest setting..
Auto & slow speed not working at all

Hi guys..,
I have an issues with my 2014 Ct200h’s front wipers..
It’s been about 2/3 days I realised my front wipers on interim & speed one work very very slow.
They work fine on the fastest speed.
Yesterday they stopped working on Interim & speed 1 but they worked fine on the fastest speed.
What could be the issue…
Any one experienced this problem..
Thank you…

Ok thanks mate 🙏

Hi guys…
On opening the R/O door on the ct200h there a small vent / grill panel I was told it’s a fan to cool down the battery…
Never knew it was there does that need cleaning & if so any videos??
Also how often should the transmission oil be changed??
Thank you 👍

Ok cool thanks guys 👍

Yes mate mine did that before the first clean out
At first I thought it was engine knock thank god it wasn’t
Get your inlet manifold plus the EGR cleaned should solve the issue

I saw a Ct200h yesterday it drove past me white with black wheels & I’m 90% certain it had a pan roof open…
It deffo wasn’t a sun roof
My A3 Black Edition got a pan roof so I know how they look & open etc..
Thats why I thought if anyone on here owns or seen a Ct200h with a pan roof
-
Hi guys…
I wanted to know does any of the Ct200h comes with a Pan roof ?
I know some come with a sun roof but was unsure if any come with a Pan roof ??

Clean it and the EGR / pipes. The manifold itself doesn't need to be replaced if it can be fully cleaned. Possibly replace the PCV valve too.
There are a good set of videos here:

Ok
thanks mate
will give it a try
cheers

And the noise isn’t there on cold start
It will only make the noise between 1500 & 2000 RPM’s
Before & past them RPM’s no noise at all

Oh noes. Sounds like the dreaded head gasket issue coming to our UK land aswell.
Let's start with what's the mileage and is it worse on cold morning starts?
Hi mate.
Milage is 140k but it’s regularly serviced & well looked after.
The sound is just there whilst it’s on petrol mode hot & cold.
And it’s deffo not the head gasket there’s no mixing of oil & water plus like I mentioned 14/15 months ago when I cleaned the inlet it was fine.
Its 100% the same inlet noise
-
Hi guys…
About 14/15 months ago my CT200h was making a knocking / juddering noice whilst driving on low RPM’s.
After investigation it was coming from the inlet manifold.
I was told a good clean will solve the issue.
So I took off the manifold it was full of water dirt oil etc.
After a good clean it’s been fine for the last 15 odd months but now the same noise is back.
Should I get it off & clean it again or should I replace it this time.
Has anyone come across the same issue & had theirs cleaned twice ?
Cheers.

Yep, there should be stored fault codes.
Cheers mate I’ll get it checked & get back on here.
Thanks

You had a wheel bearing replaced in the hub which also contains a wheel (ABS) sensor and pick up ring and “since then” you have various faults associated with these components basically says to me they messed up.
You have already done the right thing by taking the car back to them “double check everything” and clean the ABS sensor. Was this just a visual check, was the sensor measured for the correctly specified resistance readings and what were the stored OBD fault codes? What did the live data suggest?
My money would be on an open circuit ABS sensor or broken pick up (reluctor) ring damaged during the bearing replacement which a diagnostic test should confirm and given it was all OK before I would be looking at the garage for redress at their expense.
Thanks mate.
I’ll run it back to the garage & ask what you have asked.
There is no lights on the dash the 3 that do come on go off a minute later.
can a diagnostic be done with no lights on ?
