  1. Ok, I get that the electronic parking brake will disengage as you depress the accelerator, but I have not noticed any buttons to apply the brake. Embarrassed to ask but, does it automatically engage when park is selected? Apologies for this and no doubt many stupid questions to come. EDIT: I don't own it yet just deciding what to buy! lol As the is300h drifts swiftly down the hill!
  2. If it's that low when I go for a test drive I'll ask for some petrol. Can't give it a proper test when you are constantly worried about the petrol gauge. Many years ago I walked away from a car that was well in the red and the guy wouldn't fuel it. Enough to get round the block he said ... enough for the next buyer maybe!
  3. Thanks for this Thackeray. Now, I did find one just 8 miles away from me but sadly not a Lexus dealer. There was one I might consider in Swindon.
  4. OK, so here are two cars I am possibly looking at. Colour aside, what are your thoughts. I emailed regarding warranty and I was offered 12 months with either car. https://usedcars.lexus.co.uk/en/used-lexus/Lexus/Is-Saloon/300h-Advance-4dr-CVT-Auto-u3b76uj https://usedcars.lexus.co.uk/en/used-lexus/Lexus/Is-Saloon/300h-Advance-4dr-CVT-Auto-with-SAT-NAV-hkb7rds
  5. I have found a couple of cars and wondered if I would be allowed to post links to these for your comments on a comparison? Would that be allowed, please.
  6. Very valid point. Thank you. I've never spent this much on a used car before and the thought of wasting my hard earned cash is not something I want to contemplate.
  7. Thanks for all of your input guys. I am trying to take it all onboard. I have found a couple of 2016 cars. Both white, the colour I wanted and comparing the two the only difference seems to be the millage. Both £18000 with enough change for a pint and the spec appears to be the same but one from a local dealer has 18437 miles and the other from a Lexus approved dealer has 28041. To me, the extra 10000 miles doesn't seem to warrant the dealership price tag. I'd very much appreciate your thought!
  8. Thank a lot Les. I appreciate your input.
  9. Thanks. Reliability and the hybrid was my reason for choosing ... oh, and the fact it is a Lexus! You say later versions better on fuel. Do you mean later than 2017? I am not considering the F sport. Nice to hear positives regarding the rest. I really appreciate the time that you have taken to reply. Thank you. Thanks also to bobusa
  10. I am new to the forum and new to Lexus. I will be looking for my first car in the next few weeks and have already decided on a 2016/17 is300h. My questions are; a) are there any known issues I should be looking for when viewing cars? b) I am aiming at finding a car under 25k miles and looking to spend below £20,000. I believe I should get something close to showroom condition. Am I being too optimistic?
