  1. I went with the Carplay2Air for both my 300h (right number this time!) and my wife’s Ford. It seems very solid and we’ve had them around 4 years now. At the time I got them they were the best on the market, but others may have caught up now
  2. I have NO idea why I started typing 350h rather than 300h for the second half of my post! Every instance of 350h after talking about the courtesy car should have read 300h. Oops
  3. One of the reasons that I went to Lexus was that the depreciation on them is so good. I originally bought a new 300H in 2017 and intended to keep it for a while. However, when it went in for it's first MOT in 2020 I got a new facelift version because I was made an offer that I couldn't refuse. With the warranty extensions every year, I probably won't change mine for another couple of years at least. I haven't driven the 450H, but I have driven the 350H as a courtesy car whilst mine has been in for service. I'd say that it is a slightly improved interior than the 350H, with the biggest benefit being the fact that the infotainment control is touchscreen rather than the extremely clunky touchpad. By far the worst thing about the 350H (apart from the canbus theft issue) is the terrible software. However, I virtually never see it because I use CarPlay all the time (and invested in a dongle to convert it to Wireless CarPlay which is a game changer in my opinion). The ride quality seemed similar between the two, in my opinion. Lexus seats in general are probably the most comfortable I've ever had in a car and the comfort generally has been commented on by people in the car. I'd recommend checking out the cost to insure the 350H vs the others as well. The theft of them has pushed premiums up and there are many comments I've seen here and elsewhere from people who just can't get insurance in their area. Although a fix has been promised for some time, I'm not holding my breath on it. The tracker doesn't resolve the fundamental issue, and doesn't seem to make any difference to my quotes.
  4. Hi Len. No, it's not Lexus, it was in an independent for a puncture repair when I asked about it. Regarding the tyre rotation, the tyre manufacturers don't recommend that they aren't rotated (which obviously isn't quite the same as saying that new tyres should go on the rears to be fair: I probably just confused things with that comment!). For me I'd ideally like them all to need replacing at the same time because I want to switch over to the Cross Climate 2 when I switch and it seems such a waste binning tyres with quite a lot of miles left on them 😀
  5. Ah, that makes sense. I've never actually had a low pressure warning in the 7 years I've NX's so hadn't realised that. I was always surprised that it didn't give me the tyre pressures on the 4 wheels (even my wife's Fiesta does that!) so it makes sense that it's not corner specific. Thanks for that. I know that if you're rotating you need to be specific about which wheel goes to where and there are mixed opinions on whether you should rotate or not (Costco for instance will always insist on putting new tyres on the rear if you're only getting 2 done). I think that's new on the Gen 2 NXs, but have fun with your new car: the NX is fantastic and the Gen 2 ones seem even nicer (I've had them as courtesy cars). I've had 2 NXs from new and they have been absolutely bulletproof in terms of reliability and so comfortable. I'm not particularly impressed with how Lexus have handled the Canbus theft issue, but the cars themselves are fantastic. Thanks very much for this, and interesting to hear. I suspect that it might be different for different cars (I suspect the 450h has 'proper' TPMS which gives you the pressure of the individual tyres which would explain it. Thanks so much everyone, I think I'm just going to switch them around and see what happens. I may deflate one a bit to see what I get when I do get a warning as well 😀
  6. Hi, I've got a 2020 NX 300h and want to rotate the tyres on it but the garage have said that it may cause the TPMS to have problems if the wheels are registered to specific hubs. Does anyone know if the reset TPMS option in the car menu would sort that or is it something that needs changing through the OBD port and, if it is, would I be able to do that myself if I get a Carista or something similar or is it more involved than that? Thanks for any help!
  7. My car has sat at "complete the activation process" since I got it 3 months ago. I just says "All done! We're processing your request which may take up to 24 hours." I did email the dealership a couple of months ago and never had a reply. Now I've got some time off I may actually follow up on it. Since the car has either been on the drive or had me in it since I got it, it hasn't been a priority 🙂 I will say that it looks very basic. Having said that, I got this one to replace a 2017 NX so having ANY connected functionality is terrific. Carplay (particularly with the Carplay2air adaptor) has made the upgrade worthwhile on it's own for me (well, maybe a slight exaggeration, but only just!).
