Just seen some Goodyear GSD3s available on eBay for £104.99 a tyre!

What about the mass of weight on the front drivers seat! :)
I asked the dealer about this and he said it was probably just abit of spillt petrol that I drove over that made me feel like I had light steering.
That'all do for me!

RESULT! Lexus are going to replace the Head Unit on the 8th Jan! :D
I was worried that the damn thing would start working again at the dealers but it didn't! ;)
Also just noticed how excellent the sound system is (I usually just listen to the Radio (Talksport and the Cricket)). It is brilliant!! :D I can hear sounds that I cound't detect in my old car!

I bet you CD player doesn't play up at the dealer, its called .... SODS LAW
Don't I just know it! Fingers crossed!

Sorry to revive an old thread.
Just as Aido did at the start of this thread, I have just filled up my car with Optimax and when I drove out of the petrol station the car steering was markedly lighter! The car was half-full before I filled it up.
Did we findout what this was last time?
Thanks

Prices?

Thanks for the replies.
My Headunit is the newer type one.
I rang Lexus Stockport today and they said I can take the car to them tommorow to check the head unit and order a new one.
I did try the heating up trick and it worked...........well partially.
Got my CDs to play but I would occasionally still get the Error 1. Hopefully it is still showing error 1 when I take it to Lexus tommorow! Need to get the problem with the tape sorted too.

Thanks fountain of all knowledge (a.k.a Colin) :D
When I stated my top priorites above I meant in comparison between the two tyres I am considering. I do want the best handling possible and realise that trade-offs in other areas will have to be made.
I had a look at the Yokohama tyres and they are ALOT more expensive - i.e around £150-£160 a tyre compared to around £104 - £110 for the Goodyears and Toyos.
The Yokohamas seem like they have a soft sidewall, which may not be great for my alloys. My wheels are just about level with the bodywork of my car, so I would like tyres with a stiff sidewall that retain the shape and to prevent very slight rubbing of the arches.
I especially like the Toyo T1-Rs because they claim to have a much harder sidewall and be quieter then the older T1-S.
I think I should just get whichever one I can get cheaper. But not sure.
The reviews for both are very good.

Thanks Gordon.
I'll ring either Lexus Manchester or Stockport tommorow and try to sort it out.
I was thinking - how much would a new Lexus Headunit be to buy? I might stick the replacement on eBay and then buy a new one with the money I got from the sale. I would really like one with Aux-in. Would this be possible? I know I would need a facia and some cables??

Right.......I found a tape and tried it. I still only get sound from the passenger side speakers. :( :(
I know its not a fault with the speaker since it works fine when I use the radio.
I have tried adjusting the balance and it makes a very small difference.
Help!!
Thanks

Cheers Aido! :D
Don't have many tapes these days! I'll try and find one to try.

Hi friends, :D
Need to get some new tyres.
Currently I have Continental SportContacts 2 that I got cheap part-worn and to be honest they are not very good. The ride is bumpy, they are noisy, don't grip too well and have uneven wear; one of the tyres also has a rip on the tyre wall. The tyres have around 2mm of thread left.
My car is on ebatch Springs and has a tyre size of 225/40 18".
After doing some research the common consenus seems to be that the BEST tyres available for the IS200/300 are:
Goodyear Eagle F1 GSD3
Toyo Proxies T1-R
Both tyres are similarily priced. My top 4 priorities are:
1. Ride Comfort
2. Low Noise
3. Handling
4. Protection for alloys
Which would you get?
Thanks.

Thanks Aido! :)
I have only tried a CDR - the brand is Infiniti and has been fine on my previous car. I will try a proper audio CD too.
My car is under 5 years old so I suppose I can get the Head Unit changed.
Any ideas about the sound only comming through one side using the Tape Adapter?

Guys,
I get Error 1 when I try and play a CD in my car. Any ideas what it means?
Also......I am trying out a Tape Adapter in my car (at the moment it is hooked up to my PDA.)
The trouble I am having is that the sound is only comming through the speakers on the passenger side - not from the drivers side. When I use the radio however it is fine (sound from both sides).
Any ideas?
Thanks.

Merry Christmas all!, :D
In a ScarFace type thread - I thought it would be interesting to see if other LOC members had computer desktops as messy as mine!
Please put your desktop up and let us have a look!
I am so disorganised that I just shove everything on the desktop and then when it is full I make a folder on the desktop and shove everything into it and start again!!
Here is my desktop! (Its tidy compared to normal)
The Wallpaper is Duncans car - it is like the Holy Grail of what can be achieved by a fellow Greenie!
Whats yours like?

I use VideoLan too! I have yet to find a file it cannot play! Bet it could even play a Word Document! :P

I bought these cheap eBay ones:

I'm happy with them (until I get HID)! :D Look really nice and white at night. When I get HID I can then use these bulb 9006 in my foglights and get a set of 9005 for the main beamlights!
