  1. Just got my car back last night from Steve's Garage (Gordons mate) where he fitted my TTE Anti-Roll bars.

Makes a great difference! The car feels more "connected" to the ground and they inspire alot of confidence going round corners!

I LOVE ROUNDABOUTS NOW!! :winky: :whistling: :zee:

    Good Luck with your install.

  2. Both are good brands.

Although Acer are not one of the "big boys" like Dell, Compaq, Toshiba etc they are excellent - lots of spec for your money (bit like Lexus :P). Alot of schools use them and their is a reason - they are soild and reliable

Under the current government "Laptops for Teachers" scheme the laptops provided to teachers are Fujitsu Siemens ones.

I don't think you will go wrong with either - its just that the Fujitsu is so slim and the wide screen is really nice - so its the one I'd go for.

    :D Plus its silver! :D

I personally love the Acer Ferrari laptop - looks lovely - when you turn it on you get the sound of a ferrari F1 car flying past and its a gleaming RED! :whistling: It is totally over priced for what it is however!

  3. £150.00 a corner??!! What size are you looking at?

I am getting these for £105 a corner for 225/40/18 from Glossop. You can get them off eBay for £104.99 each in the same size.

The price seems to vary alot for these tyres - my local tyre place wanted £160 a tyre!

  4. Both are quality!

The Acer should have the better Battery life, but the Fujitsu is faster and has 802.11g wifi instead of the Centrino's 802.11b version.

I would go with the Fujitsu - it just looks so beautiful - so slim! The wide screen is also great for movies. :D

Must say that £600 seems a great price for these laptops! I remember the Fujitsu selling in Comet a few months back for over a grand! Where are you getting these from (if you don't mind asking)?

  5. Did alot of research before buying my new set of tyres and these Goodyears along with the Toyo T1-R's seem to be widely regarded as the best performance tyres you can get for the car!

Can not wait to get my GSD3's on the car!

  6. Tell them the police have seized the car for some forensics, as they beleive the car was involved in a major drugs rig.

and err ... they just so happened to lend him another car ........ lol !!

    HA HA HA!!

That will really help his reputation! :zee:

He has decided that he is just gonna go with the "invented fault" idea discussed before. Sounds good.

Thanks for all the help guys! :D

  7. He has just rang me.

He is thinking of just inventing a fault with his car (airbag light) and saying it is at the dealers.... and then saying that he wasn't provided with a curtesy car because one was not available!

Not sure why he doesn't just come clean - its more becuase of his arrogant borther rather then his parents I think!

  8. It's going in for full valet  but they overan & haven't finished it so they gave him courtesy car. But he will have to clean it!!!!!!!

    Hey....thats pretty good actually!

The bodyshop valet the car anyway - but he may need to clean the inside himself!

    Thanks! :driving:

Only trouble is that the curtesy car will have the bodyshop advertising all over it.

  9. Hi,

I need some inspiration. My mate has just scuffed both the bumpers on his Nissan Almera. He has been to a bodyshop I recommended thanks to Wosket (Manchester Car Refurbishment Centre - MCR) and they said they will need the car for 1 day to sortout the bumpers and a small dent. He will get a Peugoet curtesy car for a day.

The thing is that he wants a good excuse to tell his parents and older bother why he doesn't have his car for a day. He doesn't want them to know he damaged the car - male pride I think!

    Can you think of any?

    I have suggested to say:

    - Going for a service at the dealers (but it has just been serviced and why would Nissan give him a Peugoet?)

    Any ideas? Something believable?

EDIT - And its NOT secretly me! :D B)

  10. Anees do you want to come  and meet some  members, if so you can come with john and myself, anyone else from the north

Thanks for thinking of me Gordon!

I've only just come across this thread - thought that a Midlands meet ment that you had to be from the Midlands!:hehe:

Yep...........I'd like to come and meet the legendary (infamous) Aido! :whistling: Thing is it is a Wednesday evening. I teach in the evenings on a Tuesday/Wednesday night so its probably a NO-NO. I can not really blag it since I'm supposed to be the teacher----now if I were one of the students........... :whistling: :winky:

  11. The winds have been a nightmare for me too!

Car has been full of dust and grim. But luckily no major damage- unlike my mums car!

On Tuesday nights I work late- so my mum had parked her car where mine is usually kept (in a car port) on the driveaway. The wind was so strong that it actually "broke" the carport and it all fell on top of her car!!!! I was so lucky that my car wasn't their or I would have been crying :o !

Lucky the wood from the roof missed the windows -but it has put a big dent in the rear wing and a few scratches. The numberplate is also bent! LOL - Poor car then got hit by the next door neighbour yesterday! Looks a right mess.

  12. I can exclusively reveal Aido that it is NOT a charger!! :( :( Insurance company won't touch me with a bargepole because of my age (22)

I was going to get one from Pro-Lex but couldn't! Its ironic that the usual reason stopping me getting stuff is the money -but in this case its the insurance company. The price that Prolex are selling them at is well worth it!

  13. Got my car back yesterday then - when it started to rain!

My Boss couldn't stop laughing when I told him why I wasn't in work in the afternoon! He said " All Show and No Go!" as he got into his BMW 5 series!   :tomato:

I would have thought a 5 was no better in the snow - it's still rear-drive and fat-tyred.

I'm in Whitworth so I know how you feel, but I didn't get stuck yesterday despite being on an un-gritted hill - change them tyres :D

My car is now with Gordon ( and his mate Steve). Should be getting the tyres sorted and a few other things :whistling: .

I have to be nice to him - he might replace the engine with a Starlet one otherwise! :D :D
