  1. Hi Malc1, Thanks for getting back to me. No it wasn't, went through with no advisories. You make a valid point and I didn't think about that before (touting for work). With that in mind, I think I will hold off for now. Thanks for the advice and have a great day. Nick
  2. Hi both, Thanks for your posts. @Malc1, I’m not that technical tbh, but the damper stops vibrations from the engine/drive shaft. I wanted to understand if it could be replaced as an individual item or whether the whole shaft has to be replaced. @ColinBarber, thanks for your insights. Didn’t realise it was bonded, cost now seems to make more sense. No vibrations that I can notice, either town driving or motorway speeds, It was an advisory from my last Lexus service. As I’m not that technical, will probably get Lexus or a reputable garage to do it, with cost breakdown beforehand. I’m based in north west London if anyone reading this can recommend a good independent mechanic. It’s a great car and I want to keep it going for years to come so will look into getting this sorted. Thanks again. Nick
  3. Hi Everyone, I have a 2010 GS450h with a worn rear (phase 2?) propshaft damper, Lexus quoted £2,600 to replace, however I wanted to get a gauge on whether this price is in-line with other service providers. I asked a local independant mechanic and he agreed the propshaft damper did need replacing but that I would have to get Lexus to do it, he also thought it was quite expensive. Does anyone on the forum have any advice or experience in this? any thoughts or insights would be greatly welcome. Many thanks in advance and happy easter! Nick
  4. Good evening everyone! Thanks all for your comments, I really appreciate it. Steve, I enjoyed your post about your new car and congratulations. John thank you for your advice, I suspect my car is out of the extended warranty, however keeping it serviced by Lexus sounds like the best option. Lee, I used to drive a VW so this is a massive step up and don't need an excuse to go for a drive! With regards to the Tyres, I had some old Dunlops and the car felt like it pulled to the left, I swapped them out for Goodyear eagle F1 tyres and got the tracking re aligned and it now drives perfectly - quite a noticeable difference. I managed to take a few pictures of my car today during daylight hours which i attach. Next steps are to treat the leather seats which have some minor scuffs and signs of wear and tear, any advice would be greatly welcomed. Kind regards, Nick
  5. Hello Lexus club members, I've just purchased Lexus GS450h on Saturday (have attached a couple of pictures). This is my first Lexus and I have to say that I love it. MY 2010, FLSH and has just done 70k on the clock, still feels brand new apart from the tires which are barely legal. It's currently sitting on some old Dunlops... are there any members here that have good experience with this brand or any other for that matter? Also, given the age of the vehicle is it worth continuing the Lexus service history or are there any specialists mechanics in the London area which come recommended? Any advice greatly appreciated! Many thanks, Nick
