  1. Also bought one on basis of loads of reviews. 2009 GS450h here, bought recently. Also loving it.
  2. Double bonus! Got new tyres fitted today and now TPMS warning light is out after finding passenger side reset button. Replacement set of wheels had 4 good senders. Second bonus. Old bling wheels hopefully being collected tonight for £300. Managed 37mpg on a 40 mile round trip.
  3. I paid £390 for my secondhand gs450h wheels, delivered. Condition was very good. Remember the silly cost of rubber when you go oversize. £250 for a 285/25 R20. Double the price of an 18 inch one, same brand.

  5. Just taken 20 inch after market alloys off my gs450h. Rears were over circumference and too wide resulting in chafing the arch. They looked great but beyond that were pants in fit and comfort. Just stuck them on eBay. Way to waste money......someone paid £1000 for them new. Second hand and still in good condition I may get £100.
  6. Paid £115 each, fitted. OK with that.
  7. Original wheels bought off eBay arrived today. They are excellent! Really good, just the odd blemish, and two useable 5mm+ winter Pirelli Sottozero's. Will keep on the front for now until they wear out a bit more. Plumped for Continental Premium Contact 6 for the rears for fitting next week. Had a drive with the new wheels. Much nicer!
  8. Probably going to go Michelin Pilot 4. Too much choice, too many opinions. Want long life, low rolling resistance, quiet, and very occasional hooning ability.
  9. Ditching the skinny tyres (£250 a corner for premium) to standard (£150 a corner) is a most welcome benefit. Any more recommendations?
  10. Will need to decide on new rubber next. Always a pleasure to research and bag a deal.
  11. Just bought a set off eBay. Might be able to recover a bit of cost by flogging the huuuuge ones to a drug dealer. Actually a bit embarrassing rocking up at the tyre place with aftermarket wheels.
  12. Driving it again! Managed to show 49mpg after a 15 mile hypermile effort. Definitely going to put original wheels back on. Had a chat with a tyre place today.
  13. My 11 year old GS450h looks really modern to me. Swapped my 25 year old Saab for it. Plan was to keep both cars for a couple of months to make sure I really preferred the Lexus. Currently both cars SORNd so plan not going well.
  14. He can do it but it depends on your budget https://www.srdtuning.com/
  15. Will ask my Supra specialist friend
  16. Foolishly SORNd car for April. Saved £21.87. Only 10 days to go. Will not be doing that again.
  17. Wow. 40+ years ago that band rocked my world.
  18. My modified (declared) 1996 Saab 9000 Aero cost £299. c300bhp on a good day My 2009 Lexus cost £350. 340bhp I am 57
  19. I had a Rover V8 when I was 18. Insurance was more than the car was worth, but University grant cheque paid for that.
  20. After two weeks and not many miles I have a slow puncture in one of my crappy tyres. As rears are 280 wide and a bit over circumference they show signs of rubbing. Decided to keep the 20 inch wheels as they do look nice and are solid forged aluminium so should not flake like stock wheels do. However, I will maintain as close a rolling circumference to OEM as possible. Will have to be 245/30 R20. Going to spend big on tyres. Cannot bring myself to buy Landsail at £80 a tyre fitted. 4 bits of quality rubber are going to to cost the best part of a grand. My local down the road garage cannot fit 20 inch wheels on their tyre machine either.
  21. I bought my Lexus and drove it home over Dartford Bridge? Duly added new vehicle to my existing account that night. They would have fined me if I had not called them three days later to say no fee had been taken from my account. Turns out you have to register a vehicle BEFORE you use crossing, not AFTER. They graciously forgave me but said never do it again!
  22. Some US data suggests that there were only about 500 gs450h's sold in the States each year. What sort of figure would the UK yield?
  23. Petrol. Assume super unleaded is used by all? Coming from a turbo Saab it was a given. Better stick a full tank of fuel in it before the ration cards!
