Had mine for a year now. Battery has been absolutely fine so far. Check the exhaust back boxes for corrosion or they drop off. -
Get a 2009 one and you are good until 2024 with the battery. Get Lexus to check for £60 and if it passes check you are covered. Main things to consider failing. Shocks. Exhaust. TPMS will probably be iffy and alloys may need a good refurb. Car is a joy though.

Attempting to drive a GS450h on pure electric should only be for occasional novelty value. Car is not really designed for sole electric use, rather as a fuel/battery combo. Use petrol to get yourself up to sub 50mph cruising speed and then back off the pedal to encourage the battery to take over. If you try to use electric from a standstill you may get two miles max out of a fully charged battery by driving very gingerly. Still only get 32mpg in winter and 36 in summer.

Makes sense. Though it is fun to see how far up a steep hill you can get on battery power alone. Answer is not far. -
Not got cooled seats. Good miles on it and looks well looked after. Any car with 4 decent matched tyres is usually good. No sun roof though. If you are taller than 6 foot it is useful to have extra headroom with sunroof cover pulled back.

Keep Lexus servicing until hybrid warranty dies at 15 years old. Then you are on your own.

Having had large capacity Saab hatchbacks prior to gs450h, it is a niggle but I can always put on the roof bars. To get 38mpg out of a family car that does a sub 6 second 0-60 is a hard ask. Something has to give!

I came from Saab too. 25 years of them. Mostly 9000s. I think Lexus is the natural progression. A 2009 Lexus is way ahead of a 2009 Saab. Only gripe with GS450h is lack of boot space. You thought 9-5 seats were good? 9000 Aero seats were even better. Lexus seats are probably as good as the Aero ones. Only had mine a year and costs are normal age related ones like exhaust and radiator. Can't have a ten year old car at 10% original purchase price without some expenses.

Got SRD to change my radiator. I know James who works there. Lee had a hybrid LS as his own car last time I was there. Very good bunch of guys.

Have you heard of SRD Tuning near Haywards Heath? Specialise in Japanese performance, including fast Lexus.

In the morning it will always fire up the engine until the oils etc are warmed. After that it will not need to fire up if the battery has enough oomph. Bear in mind you can only drive a mile or so on pure electric at low speeds. To access the Energy Monitor, press the “INFO” button located on the left edge of the display. On the touch screen that appears, touch the “Trip Information” button

The drive back should have given you all the info you need on the traction battery....as long as you were obsessing over the state of charge screen. Battery should have gone into green fully charged state at least a couple of times.

You have to pay Lexus £60 for the check, then if it passes you get a years warranty on traction battery until car is 15.

MOT history suggests that back exhaust boxes have been replaced. Good. Also rear dampers replaced. Very good. Only downside is the weather today in West Sussex.

Probably close to a good price. Should get a wee bit off if you wave cash at them. Would offer £4250 as is. £4750 if they put MOT on it.

If you are going to return car to finance company anyway and there is no penalty for not servicing, then save some money. Fastidious FSH only useful if privately selling, or benefit to next owner. -
After a lot of research I have deduced that it cannot be deleted. You either spend £££s to eliminate warning light, or live with it. Choices then are aftermarket monitor that uses valve caps (£30-£100) or good old fashioned tyre gauge reader. Thought I was onto a relatively easy solution in reading the TPMS codes when tyres were off for new ones, in order to input via Techstream, however some senders were already aftermarket and had no code written on them.

Had mine a year now. Often go two or three weeks between use and so far has fired up every time. I do keep it in a garage without the immobilizer set as that will drain 12v a little.

Facelift ditches the cassette player! And has blingy chrome grille. Agreed that price is very good for a car with only 40k miles.
