  1. Again. Too long! Looks like it will be latest gen Yaris Hybrid. Less than two years old, less than 2000 miles. Too much of a bargain to pass by!!!!
  2. This is a useful size comparison site. https://www.carsized.com/en/
  3. My Lexus is now in the classified section btw.
  4. MIL has a Yaris, so could not bear having the same car, especially as she lives next door!
  5. Looking at something like this. Polo Blue GT. Ability to do 50+mpg due to cylinder shutdown, but still have some fun.
  6. Took her to look at a ct200h yesterday. Even that was deemed too big! Looking at hot hatches now. 4m length maximum.
  7. Going to sell this beast of a car and downsize to a CT200h. Look out for advert shortly. £5500 will do it.
  8. Can you get to Brighton? Grove Garage did my exhaust in stainless.
  9. Used Guildford twice. Did not feel unduly ripped off. Will use them again this year.
  10. Wife suggests we downsize from 2 to 1 cars. So ten grand budget for straight swap. 2009 Lexus GS450h. I love everything about it EXCEPT woeful boot. However it is very big. 2016 Smart for two. Great economy and a super town car. We only really NEED a big car a few times a year. Small hatchback perhaps. CT200h maybe, but my little turbo Smart is probably faster.
  11. Looks lovely but remember that even with low miles it may still need a new exhaust, possibly radiator and make sure tyres are not 16 years old. Engine is pretty low stress unit so bigger miles not a problem. And remember with this hybrid battery you are on your own as it is more than 15 years old. If you go for it I would keep £5000 in reserve just in case. Most likely it will be fine and you will never need to dip in. NOT a 16 year old budget banger. You can have my 2009 with 110k miles for 6 grand.
  12. Absolutely the same with mine. Back box dropped off in town to be noisily dragged along. It is an exhaust. They rust.
  13. GS is comfortable and an older persons car if you want that. It can also probably out drag a type r if asked. Best of both worlds. And 38mpg ave for my Mk 3
  14. There is just no COVID news on TV these days. And those soldiers are not wearing masks!
  15. I'd like to moan about TV reporters on promenades. You can't move for the buggers this morning!
  16. Very low failure rate. At least half the price of a Merc Hybrid battery if you had to stump up money yourself, which as said would only happen on a 15+year old car. Think actual figure is about £6k for Lexus replacement??
  17. Brave man to pull the trigger and attempt the install. I would love to see the fitted result though.
  18. Presume the steering wheel moving is done by the tiny battery as part of the switching on of the system prior to engine starting? Then the hybrid battery will kick in. IF this is the case, then a failing 12v battery would explain the sluggish movement of the steering column.
  19. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-sussex-60257478
  20. Do not be swayed by Atkinson cycle. Maybe you will get 4mpg more in a Mk 4. Will take many years of driving to recoup the extra cash you shelled out. My MK3 will give 45mpg on a run if you hypermile it, otherwise expect 36. Seats are awesomely comfy. Two years and has been faultless apart from rusty exhaust and weeping radiator, both to be expected.
  21. Presume your car is not CVT?
  22. Might have to meet up and compare toys. Also might be looking for a 600h eventually.
  23. We need an update on this car Neil!
