  1. Yeah but a tin top. V8 tin tops are ten a penny.
  2. Only E5 here as well. And I have done over 7000 miles this year. Like Bob, averaged 31.5 over those miles. And it is pretty much £100 to fill up the tank atm.
  3. Seems only conclusion I can come to. Absolutely fully charged battery was drained to zero in 3 or 4 days with roof down. Partially charged (25 mile drive) battery retained enough oomph to crank after 2 days with roof up.
  4. Car just about started today for garage shunting. Would not have taken a second startup though. Proves however that battery is not being drained dry by a phantom load like when roof was left down.
  5. The deed is done.
  6. Seems good. I forget you are paying pittance Northern prices though.
  7. I think you are perhaps expecting a lot for what you paid. I have a friend who underseals some quite exotic cars...is his only job. He looked under mine and thought most rust was very superficial. He could have done the job but would have been a big job, costing well north of £1000 to get into every nook and cranny. Would have involved removal of all superficial rust and then treatment with Dinitrol. Did your quote involve rust removal or just spray treatment?
  8. I would pay up. He probably knows where you live.
  9. Now SORN!
  10. Garage in a block too far from house for cable
  11. Jumped it today with a Noco. Seem to be good products.
  12. No electric in my garage. Will have to remove battery and keep in my shed. Hence the novelty of reversing into garage.
  13. Bought a Noco Genius 5 for the battery
  14. Don't think a wee drive was enough to recharge battery. Anyways, jump started again and a bigger drive to refuel. Car now reversed into garage for easy battery access. Need to buy a battery trickle charge /maintainer now for overwintering.
  15. All it is good for is telling you when you cross into another country
  16. What about these? Near me. https://www.facebook.com/marketplace/item/415042327728462/
  17. I got my 30 year old son to do the limbo bit!
  18. I was under car for half an hour on crawl board fixing exhaust heat shield. Had a stiff neck for two days, and I am the youngster here!
  19. I have booked a house in France for the whole of March. Not the south of Spain admittedly! But £27 a night.
  20. Used iQ to jump start. Thought a Toyota juice transfusion was best. Car fired up as normal for a blast on the South Downs. Roof now closed in the garage! Feel free to rinse and repeat yourselves.
  21. Car was also unlocked.
  22. Doh. All dead today. Left roof down in garage after I drove it a few days ago. Any ideas. Battery is quite new and lorra miles done recently.
  23. What is UK tariff on Chinese ev's? Seeing a lot of MGs
  24. Avoid winter fuel crisis. Drive your V8 Lexus to southern Spain for the winter. You can rent a 3 month airbnb for less than you would spend on your leccy bill.
