  1. I had a stainless one made up. Cheaper than Lexus mild steel one!
  2. Maybe there should be track days where everyone can only use spacesaver wheels.
  3. You say high miler It is not. I had one for two years exactly same miles 90k when I bought it. Nothing went wrong, except rusty exhaust. Sold for same as I paid
  4. Someone selling a mismatching set of SC430 wheels. Badly painted. X4 lexus sc430 18" alloy wheels with 4 OEM bolt centre c, https://www.gumtree.com/p/cars-vans-motorbikes/x4-lexus-sc430-18-alloy-wheels-with-4-oem-bolt-centre-c/1466239138 Price: £ 200
  5. http://www.autotrader.co.uk/car-details/202401045242946 Dorking one looks a potential good one.
  6. New hybrid battery. No brainer. http://www.autotrader.co.uk/car-details/202311174064692
  7. As long as it is only on the roof!
  8. Bit of crusty patina. Doubt you will find any of these cars without some cosmetic blemish if you really look close.
  9. "Aluminum oxide appears as a powdery white or dull gray coating. As oxidation occurs, it hardens and creates a protective layer over the newly exposed areas of corroded aluminum. The aluminum corrosion process is actually halted by oxidation—the metal won’t continue to deteriorate unless the aluminum oxide is removed. As mentioned earlier, unlike rust, which has a flaky, orange appearance, aluminum oxidation cannot be easily chipped off the metal surface." Maybe just live with it? I am sure many cannot cope with a bit of bubbly looking paint. From this very forum:
  10. Aluminium corrosion is not rust. I have a bit as well. Not overly concerned. No worries with vouchers. No use to me now.
  11. Got no codes left. You will have to stump up.
  12. Liking the studs attached to hub. Can't remember last car that had this stud setup. Helps when you get older and less flexible. Obviously a car designed for codgers.
  13. Not a problem. There is a garage a few hundred yards down the road that will sort it. Pirelli tyre with good tread so worth repairing if possible. Might put wheel in my wheelbarrow!
  14. And on the plus side it started first time after a week or so, even on a chilly morning.
  15. Well. Time to test out the spare in anger. One tyre is losing air. At least tpms works and fault clears when air is replaced.
  16. Talking to the vendor of the car I bought, he really did not have any idea what his car was really worth. All he had to go on was the 20 cars currently for sale on Autotrader. There is no website that tells you the actual sold prices, unlike houses where you can access that info....after 6 months admittedly.
  17. All relative. I will probably end up paying more than my SC to replace a blooming flint garden retaining wall. One good day at the races....
  18. Makes me feel edgy about buying mine now! A few cosmetic blemishes. But hey, I have a 2008 one. That's what I tell myself.
  19. KH51 is getting on a bit. I would want it to have been kept in a garage for most of its life, but service history does look decent and is a dealer so may get a deal. Would be more interested in any rust on underside than paint blemishes on top. It has "uprated" sound/nav system. Again worth a look. What were Scouse red flags?
  20. Ah. Liverpool. Calm down, calm down!
  21. https://www.facebook.com/marketplace/item/256668250599550/ Doer upper?
  22. I bought one with a contingency fund of 50% of purchase price. If you can get EVERY box ticked then maybe spend £12k
  23. Was that the one in Canterbury? 7 previous keepers.
