Hi Schroder I hope you don't mind me saying but you really should put this into prospective, in my area of South Wales the CT against all other Hybrid cars are rare that's one of the attractions for me buying my CT so the chances your car will be targeted above all others I would say are low, I can fully understand your concerns which I have had and yes i've had the Catloc installed which rightly or wrongly gives me some peace of mind, I know it will make it a lot harder for thieves to steel but its the same as anything if they want it they will take it that's life I guess, However I do feel the Loc is a good deterrent & if they know of an easier target I'm sure they would target that instead of spending time removing both Loc & Cat on yours, I would say always be mindful on where you park the car no dark side streets or quiet car parks but that would apply to all cars, Go for it Schroder its a lovely car I don't think you will be disappointed.

Hi Damer picked my CT up just before the lockdown which as it turns out I was very lucky to do so, its my first Lexus I had a Audi A3 before this, For me I can confidently say you will not be disappointed a very well built car with a touch of luxury and to top it all I'm managing 55-56mpg around town which I'm highly delighted with my Audi only two years old Diesel was only manging 44-45mpg, enjoy.

Thanks Charlie for that info very reasuoreing and will defiantly have one fitted can I ask do you remember what it cost you for Lexus to supply and fit, I know you can pick the lock mechanism up for around £205:00 & believe its pretty straight forward to install for a garage that is 👍.
-
Hi, I'm also thinking of getting the Lexus cat lock fitted are there any drawbacks you found since the installation such as vibrations, rattles increase in sound coming through the floor it would help to know before biting the bullet and getting it installed.

CollinBarber I stand corrected thank you does this mean it isn't a deterrent or what?. To put it in context though I don't believe from what i've read on here that for the CT cat theft isn't so prolific as on other vehicles and if this is correct the deterrents i've outlined whether inherent to the model or installed after may have some reasoning why.
-
Okay I bow down to your better knowledge, But I'm certain I read this up in the additional spec on the Takumi will have to do some more research, Thanks anyway.
-
Yes fair point but there are two reasons why, I have a sunroof also so very rarely use the air-con & secondly don't you have the problem I have when it has been raining whether your entering the car or coming out haven't you experienced water that comes from the roof and front side pillar and soaks the door and side of the seat this has happened to me many times and an sure they would stop that, Also I must admit I like the look of them but to be perfectly honest never seen them on a CT before I'm solely judging them on other cars,

Hi all, sorry to see the problems some people are having with this if it happened to me I must admit ide be devastated, I've got a year old F Sport Takumi in white its the first Lexus i've owned & must admit I love it, When researching the CT before buying I asked around about the problem with cats being stolen but from what I found all cars these days are potentially venerable & the two factors rightly or wrongly I believe is going for my cay is that the CT is naturally low to the ground so not easy to get at and if thieves want to get at it they would have to jack it up and that brings the second reason in for buying because my car is a Takumi it has anti tilt alarm fitted which is obviously an extra deterrent, I haven't yet but I will get fitted the Lexus CT Phase 1 Catalytic Converter Lock which has now come down to £205:83 which will be a third deterrent, yes I am of the real world & if they are determined they will try everything to get it but with an alarm going off & they find the extra protection I would like to think they'd leave well alone especially if your careful where you park your car.

Hi to all, Can anybody give me some advice on buying genuine Lexus wind deflectors apart from the obvious that I'm bloody mad thinking of paying so much, Are they worth that cost compared to the competition out there ?. Also has anybody fitted them if so I'm I correct they clip into the surrounding window channel and not stuck on as one of the YouTube blogs suggest. Thanks.

Thank you DanD now you mention it its that obvious good spot, I decided on the Lexus in the end and picked it up three weeks ago and although I haven't driven it much because of the restrictions we all find ourselves in I do believe I made the wright decision, It feels so solid to drive and love the look of the car a different drive to the A3 but much more contusive to the way I drive each day, when I figure out how to post photos on here I will.

Thanks for that Mark good spot, the other interesting item for me from that list was a the inclusion of a Tilt censer on the Alarm, its been a concern after reading on this forum that there's been a number of cats are being stolen, at least knowing i've got that installed gives me some piece of mind. Cheers.

yes I agree. different is good and to be honest its such a nice car for what I can see the red upholstery I'm willing to live with, as i've said I will pick it up next week its a F Sport -Takumi in White, cant wait.

Thank you Mark & John, Yes spot on Mark that's correct on the configuration of each car and I agree with you both on black, but isn't it nice to be a little different after all hasn't most cars got this it can be a bit stark & boring, My problem is the car with the red seats is some distance from me so I cant just pop down and see it, In the Video and photographs i've seen you wouldn't believe how bright the red looks & that's why I'm asking the question, i've been on Lexus web site and when you build up a CT the options of leather covering isn't anything resembling the bright red shown to me on the Video, I've looked on the web at other CT's with red upholstery and most look much darker, I've subsequently sent some of these photos to the dealer who has the car and confirms indeed that the actual colour is more represented in the photographs I sent and he will send me more to confirm this, all I can say is so much for videos taken on a phone for true representation of colour. If this is the case It wont be a problem its not so much in your face, on the subject of the headlights for myself they look much nicer with the LED day light on top of the unit the tic is more distinct, so it looks as though my new car only six months old will be picked up early next week, thanks again. Mark just to clear one other question up on the newer headlight, you wouldn't know if the unit is all LED as opposed to LED & Halogen I'm getting conflicting answers thanks.

I'm about to purchase my first Lexus CT i've two cars in play but I cant make my mind up which to choose, there are two issues which are confusing my decision, One front head lights do you go for LED day running lights on top or bottom of the main unit , Two Colour of upholstery one car has Black leather and the other has predominantly Red which should I pick what would you guys be able to live with, appreciate your opinion.

Brendan that's good to hear and thank you for the tip on the tyres, The CT model I'm interested in buying is a 2018 F-Sport would that have the same tyres ?, Could anybody also tell me when the headlights were changed to the current type with the all day LED light on top of the head light as opposed to being on the bottom, I believe It must have been sometime in 2018 but when, the 2018 car I'm interested in has the LED on the bottom I do wish it was the other way around to me it looks so much nicer what do you think. Through my extensive research on the CT one problem that comes up quite a lot is the quality of the leather or not upholstery after 30 or 40 thousand miles use can crack and break down, are anybody aware of this and if so did Lexus do anything about it.
