  1. I find the proximity sensors mildly annoying where I back into narrow field gates but tolerate the "Press brake" pedal to over-ride it. I also drive a field track that has long grass growing across it which sends the sensors bonkers, however they only operate for a short period (say 7 meters at 5mph) and then become "unavailable" which is an excellent outcome. They "come back" when I next start the vehicle.
  2. One of the reasons I’ve bought Lexus’ is that the dealer always lets me have unaccompanied test drives and for as much of the day as I want. I drove the LBX around all my local routes as well as 20 miles of motorway. I wouldn’t buy a car I’d not driven for at least three hours continuously.
  3. Well, it's fine to not like a model, not sure what you mean by "AWD model difficult to access"? It is listed as marginally slower, (by a second 😱), and has a slightly poorer mpg. Surprised by your dealer experience as mine is the exact opposite and has been consistent over 7 years and 3 cars. Any in-demand new model isn't going to be offered with a discount since dealers can sell every one they can get, most manufacturers "build to order" so unless you want something they "predicted" as a popular order model or a cancelled order then your always going to be waiting about 12 weeks.
  4. I drive a fair bit of motorway and fast A roads and my average speed over 700 miles rarely gets above 35mph. The app gives monthly totals and average speeds.
  5. The AWD LBX has a much shallower boot floor,
  6. My LBX hasn't complained when I put my sunglasses on.
  7. Not all insurance companies do this, something I check on the policy terms & conditions before buying. Even without a 20% deductible insurance companies always imply you have to use their repairers, which you don’t. Most companies pitch using their body shops as a convenient solution however I’ve come across a fair few people who have had really shoddy repairs via this route so will only use Lexus approved repairers.
  8. I rate ceramic coating, I’ve had it on all my cars after 4/5 years, as long as you use the linked wash additive then the paint still beads and the cars have looked as good as new. However if you like washing and polishing every so often then the Autoglym system works as pretty much as well. I think the key is to avoid mechanical car washes and commercial “hand” washes.
  9. I’ve downsized from an NX, I never use the rear seats so the smaller boot in the LBX isn’t a problem. I have an AWD LBX on order from the beginning of August and have been told to expect it in November. I’m finding it easy to get 63mpg in my present FWD LBX.
  10. With Churchill my LBX is £100 cheaper than a 5 year old NX300h.
  11. It’s dramatically better than the system on a 2nd generation NX.
  12. I ordered AWD but due to an error was supplied FWD, I noticed as soon as I went onto a track (my hobby is coppicing) when the front wheels broke away on a grassy section. My previous NX was ok on road tyres but phenomenal on cross climates, I wanted a small luxurious AWD a niche the LBX has created. I’m willing to sacrifice 6” of boot depth for the AWD.
  13. I do quite a lot of track driving to access woodlands and turning round the front wheels spun on grass and there was nothing happening at the rear. Initially I thought it was because of the road tyres but then looked underneath. It was somewhere that my NX dealt with it’s AWD system.
  14. I/We were correct, it’s a FWD version and a dealer ordering error, they are horrified and ordering the AWD one for me. There’s a wait, however my faith in the Lexus dealer’s customer care is intact.
  15. And this looks like torsion bar
