  1. I had a short walkthrough of certain features when I bought my nearly new RX in 2019. The dealer also asked me if I had any questions (I did have a few), but he was happy to answer them. As others have said, the manuals are a mine of information but are quite lengthy. It's possible to order paper copies of the full manuals from Lexus UK if you prefer reading them rather than from a phone/tablet/computer (or at least this was the case when I asked last year).

Just be mindful that the “plan” is linked to “that” dealership, so should you be thinking off moving / not best pleased with the service etc ?

Apart from that the plane does give a discount over the stand alone prices.

I asked a similar question when offered to take out a 3 year service plan with my RX I bought from Lexus Milton Keynes (as I live in Gtr Manchester). They informed me the service plan they were offering could be used at any Lexus dealership. I paid just over £1000 in 2019, so I think this has worked out cheaper than paying to individual services (not yet had the 3rd service).

Had an Alfsud in 198? whatever and it was a fine car when it was not in the garage being fixed. Did that answer your question? No! That was so long ago that maybe they are hopefully now better.

My experiences were more recent, with a 156 and a GT (both V6s). I was never left stranded, but suffered several more minor problems, and the quality of various components left a lot to be desired. Fine cars to drive though 😎

  4. I can understand your hesitancy, as it is a big financial commitment. Definately need to take an extended test drive to see if the RX is satisfactory for your needs. 0-60 is around 7.5s, which in my opinion is quick enough for an SUV. When I took a test drive in an RX at Lexus Stockport, the salesman asked if there were any particular roads I would like to test the car out on. I wanted to see how the RX would perform on the motorway accelerating from, say, 50 to 70mph. They had absolutely no problem with this, so hopefully you'll also be able to request if there are any particular road types or scenarios in which you would like to test the car.

  5. Echoing with what has been said above. I have this feature on my RX too, but because my seat is set quite far back, the seat doesn't slide back when turning the power off. However, the steering wheel does retract. This is an excerpt from the manual:

Noticed on my test drive that the new NX has the classic Lexus female voice, but there's a different one for the actual road names...

    Sounded more Google maps like.

My RX has two female voices too, with certain road names being spoken by the 2nd voice. I've nicknamed the main voice on my sat-nav as Doris 😄 Sometimes she seems to pronouce 'High Street' as 'Higher Street', but again that might be my hearing 😄
