I recommend this https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B07JN9MD28/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1 Have it on my IS250 navigation stereo and it just plugs in the back of the stereo where an additional CD mag would be connected. Sound quality is exactly as with the CDs or radio and steering controls work with it too. just be careful not to damage the dashboard near the vents when removing the stereo.

If anyone is looking for a "clean" option and fancy taking the satnav off to install this, I highly recommend it! Had a bluetooth adapter previously but wasn't satisfied with the bass so went for this option. Just be careful when removing the sat nav when doing this as the dash right above the vents can easily be damaged. https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B07JN9MD28/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o02_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

yup was referring to front lights - have both front and rear lights installed as the car came with them when I got in July from another forum member. apart from the not perfect fitting for the headlights all is good & car passed its MOT a few months ago no questions asked.

I have the vland headlights on and had no issues with MOT. the car came with them so don't think there were any issues previously either.

have a look on the thread below as a few options were discussed. I went with the cheaper option at the beginning with the aux adapter in the armrest but wasn't happy with the sound quality and then upgraded to the adapter that plugs in at the back of the radio and shows as an extra CD magazine for £35 - so not crazy expensive. Only downside to the latter option is that you need to take out the whole satnav/radio and you may end up damaging the dash if you're not careful.

Thanks for the reply man! Really appreciated. Have 2 working keys but always up for tinkering about 😁

No artist track info I'm afraid. Here's what mine looks like. Selecting the other CD's doesn't do anything.

Hey Vlad, I took the unit off only partly i.e. the top half of the harnesses. I went a bit blind as I didn't have any instructions so I plugged it in the only spare matching socket i could find. Located it on the bottom right( as you face the display). I think the one in the middle from the highlighted area in the pic attached No Y cable needed.

Thinking of doing the same on my car. How has it held up so far?

Both for phonecalls and music? I believe capability for music was added in the facelift

Bruce thanks for the recommendation! installed it last week and it's great! can use steering wheel controls to skip tracks and it's recognised as a second cd/dvd magazine. Sound quality is awesome too! The bass really comes through now!

When I asked the guy about the rear he said that the rears have to have an angle so they keep the car straight.... Thanks for the recommendation LexIS200Sport! I'll probably take it there or somewhere with a hunter machine for a check at least and then ask for a refund. Would a suspension issue cause the pull? Thanks everyone for your input! Much appreciated!

So had 4 wheel tracking done at ATS Euromaster on Sept 5th and a few days later when I went on the motorway noticed the car was pulling to the left...called to let them know and had my revision booked in for Sept 19th...they made some adjustments and the car's still the same. They said there may be some suspension issues which I'll have checked. However the alignment on the back now seems off too in the revision sheet? Can anyone with some knowledge on this share their opinion?

That's great to hear! Hope it will do well until you upgrade to the system you wanted 😁

That sounds good but just for bluetooth it seems too expensive in my opinion. But you have the advantage of using all the oem controls.
-
Nice. At what version are you looking at? Seen there are a couple on their website

what does the Vaistech do? is it just bluetooth or does it do carplay?
-
Hey Vlad, I just keep it on aux (I have the ML sat nav for reference). Once connected it just plays a sound through the speakers of the car which just says "connected" and "disconnected" once you disconnect it if the stereo is still on. If you just shut the engine off it just disconnects as it has no power. By the way you won't be able to change tracks via the steering/radio controls, just adjust the volume. It works just an aux connection would in terms of what you can do via the car's controls. I use google assistant once in the car to change tracks on spotify. Not ideal, but compared with the price of the grom I'd say it's worth it.

I've installed an universal bluetooth adaptor in my armrest to play music from ( don't think it works for calls though) Here is the adaptor https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/223550132778 ( Was also considering this, but haven't found a good location for it to be out of sight yet accessible to pick up calls. https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B01MSUWCZ0/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_JwRkFbM5Z09SN ) Also got a ground isolator https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/333306908036 And an L shape usb to protect the usb wire from the adaptor from breaking https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/292074804774 I've also got an app for android (MacroDroid) on which I've set up a trigger for when my phone connects to the bluetooth adapter my data connection comes on and Spotify launches. Worked well so far, the sound is clear and it connects quick, but found that the bass doesn't really come through. All this cost me just over £13 btw, so it's cheap and cheerful.
