  1. Thanks Paul, I'll have a look at some point to check the seal on the vent
  2. Thanks for the reply Vlad! I'll probably strip the boot out a bit to check if the vent is damaged in any way or if I can deflect the water from the amp area then. The grommets I have in the wheel well were full rubber ones, no holes in them.
  3. So I gave my IS250 an interior clean last week and came to find that there was loads of water in the spare wheel well! Removed the grommets and managed to drain all of it but now concerned of where the source of the water ingress is? Last night checked my amp (ML audio system if it matters) and found some moisture around that area but the amp itself looked dry. After some googling found that there's a vent besides the bumper where water comes in from but haven't done more checks for that. I removed 2 of the grommets in the spare wheel well to aid with water drainage in the future but is there any way to protect my amp from moisture?
  4. Yep, they sort of work independently as long as you connect to your car's bluetooth too.
  5. Hi everyone, Found some workshop manuals for the IS250 & IS220d online. You'll need a laptop/PC to use the files as you need to extract/unzip them with winrar/7zip etc & they're in HTML format (they'll open in a browser) There's a readme.txt file with instructions to use - basically telling you which file to open. IS250 Workshop Manual IS220d Workshop Manual Hope this is ok with Admins but remove the post if not
  6. The mirrors for SEL and SE models are different - i.e. the leads are different & on SEL you also get the auto dimming side mirror which the SE does not have. You could disassemble the mirrors and swap the internal motors (assuming these would be the same) as an alternative to getting another SEL mirror
  7. If you have a laptop to hand have a look at the manual here. You'll need to unzip it I believe and then open the readme text for instructions https://onlyautorepairs.com/md/lexus-is250_2005-2014.zip
  8. +1 on using comparison sites...Adrian Flux quoted me £1500 whilst what I got form confused.com was £540....
  9. Happy I could help:) Check if the Anker adapter works whilst plugged in for charging - I had a similar one a while ago would only work off the battery - when plugged in to charge it would stop streaming. If you're looking for a simpler setup check out my initial set up below. You can hide this in the armrest console. The downfall to this setup was that the sound quality wasn't the best, and I couldn't use the steering wheel controls to skip songs. P.S. if you go with the armrest setup you could probably use a better quality BT adaptor maybe the sound quality will be better.
  10. Welcome to the club Ravi :) There are a loads of guides on youtube - linked a few below this shows a good method to remove the vent without damaging the dashboard And this is more of a "how not to" video to check to know what to avoid doing :) Can't take credit for finding the BT adapter as Bruce was the one who mentioned it initially!
  11. The struts seem to be working as they should as there is some resistance when closing the lid and it lifts up with ease... Thanks Colin, I'll give it a try. I'll start with the striker as it seems like the easiest fix of the two.
  12. Purchased it a year ago from a forum member and done a check on it, not accidents etc.
  13. Nope. the boot still closes fine but it's just one those things that once you notice it will bug you :)
  14. Does anyone know how to adjust the boot lid? The gaps are uneven when the lid is closed and noticed the rear lights are rubbing against each other. Tried adjusting the struts but haven't figured how to do it....they're nitro struts (brand) so assume not the original ones on the car. Thanks
  15. here you go https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/264004475652?epid=6025037608&hash=item3d77e49b04:g:KGIAAOSwVFJbzvUu
  16. Take your time when removing the stereo so you don't chip your dashboard around the vent and test it before you put everything back 😁
  17. I think this is the one https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/264004475652?epid=6025037608&hash=item3d77e49b04:g:KGIAAOSwVFJbzvUu
  18. It works as any other bluetooth adapter so no changes to be aware on that front. Just be careful when removing the stereo not to damage the dashboard where the top air vent is.
  19. For anyone wanting to spend 30 minutes to install an adaptor into the back of the stereo I can't recommend this enough. It plugs in a spare cd magazine slot in the back of the stereo and allows you to use your steering controls too. only thing is that you have to be careful when removing the stereo not to damage the dashboard near the top air vent. https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B07JN9MD28/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o02_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 there are more details on this in the thread below
  20. Hey there, My OEM bluetooth only allows for handsfree calling so the adaptor adds another bluetooth connection for streaming music. So your phone will need to be connected to both at the same time (all phones can do this). They will work at the same time so if you stream music you'll still be able to receive or make a phone call through your car's handsfree bluetooth system. The adaptor doesn't take away any of the OEM functionality.
  21. My IS250 came with the VLAND kit on it when I bought it in July and passed it's MOT with no issues. Previous owner didn't have any issues with it either. are you sure the leveling works? On mine I had to adjust them manually via screws located on the headlights - to raise/ lower the level of the beam that is.
  22. this is the original thread where this was discussed - on the second page I shared how it looks on the screen once connected and where I plugged mine in
  23. That's right, all steering controls work with it. You can't see the name of the tracks playing though
  24. I know this from someone on the forum too, and there is another thread on bluetooth where I recommended this but most go with the ebay dongles as it's less hassle to install. I had the ebay dongles set up in my armrest but the sound quality was bad, especially for bass. It should be pinned somewhere :)
