My 2 year old Avon ZV7 rear tyres have started cracking badly and want to change them. Price to change the like-for-like size (245/45/17) vs matching the size on fronts (225/25/17) is massively different. Over £300 for a pair of 245s vs £150-180 for a pair of 225s. Looking mainly at premium tyres (Goodyear, Michelin, Bridgestone) with a wet driving rating of A. So what are your thoughts? Square setup or eat up the price difference and go for OEM spec? Already been in touch with Avon for a replacement but the process is very convoluted and will need new tyres anyways so I will just let it go.

Painted Callipers, what a ballache

and to mention no category on the car either. The damage was paint only so was happy to take the settlement. Cost me about £250 to get it resprayed -

@Linas.P, you'd be surprised. My bumper was scraped in a car park and the other party's insurance deemed my car a total loss - so they gave me the option of a 2k payout or give them the car & possibly a higher payout. -
Dyno run IS250 results

Was wondering why you didn't show up 😄 as went for it after you posted on Facebook. Hope the car's ok and it's just an odd error. As for the results, I forgot to turn off air conditioning and my heated seat - don't know if that would have made a difference though? And not sure if the guy who put the car on the dyno disabled traction control etc - but don't know what the standard procedure is with these. I'm not bothered with the results as it's more car than I can handle anyway but curious what results yours and @TadasC will get. -

Had tesco momentum 99 in it as that's what I typically use. Did sparks, coolant, dif fluid etc at around 90k and engine oil was changed 2k ago. -

Had no expectation honestly and was done as more of a curiosity as someone on facebook mentioned it and the dyno people are 10 minutes away. The mods I did don't think made a difference ( not positively anyways) but quite happy with the result. -

Very likely, although doubt it would have made much more power stock as I would expect it to have some sort of loss from the factory fugures. The mods I made are purely for sound, not for performance. The car already has more power than I have driving skill anyways. -
So had a dyno run on my 55plate is250 with 114k miles on it. Mods (if you couls call them that) are stainless steel backboxes & poor-man's F-sport intake (aka a hole cut in the airfilter housing) Dyno run bhp 186 vs 204 spec (9%difference) Dyno torque 164 ft-lb vs 186 ft-lb spec ( 12% difference) Decent result or nah?

@eleveneleven great to hear you and the girls are safe! I recommend getting a claims management company involved - as they are typically no cost to you and they'll get a better outcome I haven't personally used one, but my brother did after a small incident in a car park and he got the car back and a good pay-out covering around 80% of the value of the car. https://www.autoclaimsassist.co.uk/ this company came up as the first results from a quick google search as an example.

Great to see there's some agreement here 🙂 Not against fog lights being used when visibility is seriously reduced, but for the typical rain I find the use a bit excessive. And as you say @Mincey, some drivers go the the other extreme with no lights at all.
-
Pet peeve of mine but what to see what the general consensus is. Anyone bothered by those who use fog lights - front or rear - when it rains, and there is no fog? I find that the front fogs reflect on the wet road and blind anyone driving in the other direction and the rear fog reflects on the wet windshield when driving behind and again impairs your vision. Only use I find suitable when it rains is when it pours so hard the lights actually make your car more visible.

Hi all, I work in market research and looked up the company and they seem legit - and have the proper accreditations in place ESOMAR (global level) and MRS (UK level). The email you received Steve is what we usually call a recruitment survey i.e. to ensure that at the interview they speak with the target audience for this specific project i.e. Lexus customers who purchased a new vehicle in the past 3 years. If selected you'd most likely take part in a zoom call with a moderator from the research agency and 3-5 more Lexus owners. In most, if not all, cases if you take part in a focus group you will be rewarded for your time, and asking for bank details is quite common but you can request a cheque if you don't feel comfortable. When these were done in person they used to hand out cash to the participants. As for the research agency having access to your name and email address, this is totally ok and is permissible under GDPR regulations. If you don't trust the sender ask for an email address from the Lexus/Toyota market research department or call their head office and ask to speak with someone from their market research team. hope this puts you at ease, but let me know if you have any other questions.

Is 220d front bumper and headlights

Hi, Thinking to get some led reflectors for the bumper and saw some that have a reverse light option to them too (reverse lights on my vlands are very dim). Anyone happen to know which wires are the ones for 1. Lights on 2. Brake light 3. Reverse light 4. Ground (assume black wire?) Many thanks in advance
