Incidentally, my rear bumper protector has dirt around the edges and the car is F Sport white so it really shows. Can you remove the old foil without damaging the paint?

Miele always was a fantastic product, that's all we ever had indoors with my second ex-wife, she was German too ( I think Miele is German ) .... hahahahaha we had money then ! as it was often about twice the price of every other brand ........ or so it seemed
her parents had a Miele washing machine still alive and working after 40 years too and that's why we bought Miele
I was reading some months ago that the Bosch products are made in Spain ............ not sure if it was all or just some though
Malc
Bosch could well be made in Spain Malc. I think we've been lucky with the washing machine, maybe it was made before the accountants took over running the company in a similar vein to VW Audi, BMW and Mercedes, their quality is shockingly bad these days.
I say it's luck due to having two Bosch drills that both failed within days of purchase, one with a knackered Battery and its replacement where the gearbox took itself to lunch. I claimed on the guarantee and the shop sent me a Makita instead. Incidentally, my mate is a joiner he has a Makita power planer that he bought in 1977. He reckons he's fitted 5000 doors and countless archives using it and it's still on the original drive belt. Lexus quality!

Absolutely true, I had a Hotpoint from Curry’s and wasn’t aware at the time it was a specific model made for them. 2 years later the bearings failed and low and behold a sealed drum and small crap bearings.
Although I am still working I’m on call (utilities) so at home more than out so last week replaced the waste disposal unit, cut the grass twice and replaced some cupboard handles.
On nights last week so not even allowed a beer until after 5.00 pm today.
We had a Hotpoint, the main bearing failed after 14 months. They're actually made by Creda/Ariston now, so they're Italian crap. We bought a Bosch to replace it, 9 years fault free so far. If you can afford it, buy a Meille, they're family owned and are actually, through pride, designed to last for 20 years.

You have to move the right door mirror into your preferred position when in reverse to program it. It will then drop with the left when the switch is in L. A lot of people don't program the right mirror because they still want some sight of what's behind them and usually parallel park on the left.

You seem to have left the topic blank mate!

I feel for you all if your income is under threat and you have car payments to make. I'm lucky, my job is safe and the car is paid for. I just need to dodge the virus if that's possible!
Good luck in the coming months, this situation is going to change our world for a very long time.

My wife had greater success than me when she went Sainsbury's but be warned the booze section is virtually empty at times. She managed to get two boxes of the Merlot thank God, after all one just can't have a Pizza without several glasses of red wine
Pizza is a snack, red wine is a staple!

my choice today is Hotel California by the Eagles .... chilled song with lovely calming scenery in the video, makes you think of the long awaited Summer
I once drove from a motel in San Francisco to Yosemite. We left in the early morning in the dark. The sun rose over the Seirra Nevada mountains and as it did, they went from black to deep purple, then pink and then yellow. At dawn break Hotel California was played on the car radio. It was heavenly and surreal.

Park the car, make sure all interior lights are switched off including the courtesy, boot and glove box. Walk away and don't worry.

My wife did the same thing last week with her Fiat 500 while doing the school run 😢
But surely, being locked out of a Fiat is better than being inside it? 😁

A lot of people go for a massive capacity memory card thinking it will record for longer, when the whole point is to have rewritable continuous loop files, after all, an incident only lasts for a matter of minutes at the most.
Think of the memory card as being a large house with hundreds of rooms. The pictures are broken up into colours and shades, then into reference points like a game of battle ships, these elements are put into separate rooms. Then the memory of where they go is put into the entrance hall. If you buy too many rooms, the system has too many rooms to search for the whole picture and rebuild it therefore recording fails. Go for 32G max with a high rewrite speed.

When I picked mine up from the dealers we had to go straight to the care home to visit the father in law, so both sets of keys were present. The spare was in the car and the one I'd been using was in my pocket. Upon trying to lock the car the beeps started going to warn me that a key was still inside.

I traded a Honda Civic 1.8 iVtec for my Lexus. I didn't drive the Civic any differently to the Lexus in that I don't thrash around like a boy racer. I got about 28 to 32 to the gallon out of the Civic in winter, I'm getting a good 38 out of the Lexus, but in far more luxury.

The receiver unit? Therefore, nothing wrong with the sensors!

You've done a fine job there. But for reference, does the knob pull off the shaft like a cooker or hi-fi volume knob?

I'm afraid German car manufacturers are run by accountants whereas the Japanese firms (except Nissan) are run by engineers. Every German car has failure built in as a profit maker. Sorry, but the Mercedes and VW we had failed every few months with suspension and brake issues, EFI failures and coil packs burning out, whereas the MX5 hasn't had any major problems, unless you count a couple of anti roll bar bushes. In fact, we've had five MX5's, Hondas, Toyotas and now Lexus and never paid for more than an oil change.
My friend is an AA man, he's never been out to a Honda or Toyota for more than an empty fuel tank. He's been to one Lexus with a flat tyre. Take your pick mate!

I'm really sorry to hear this, as a coppers son I lament the passing of the days when law and order consisted of a good slap to an errant youngster and the fear it instilled, followed by a bloody good punch to the adult who hadn't learned earlier. I don't care what anybody says, the country has gone to hell in a hand cart. Nobody fears the law or retribution these days. Why should we live in fear of sub normal troggs and genetically challenged bastards?
If this upsets any "social experiment Liberals" then so be it, you've created hell on Earth.

At this time of year it's more likely to be steam rather than smoke. As the Lexus engine doesn't run much above 1500 rpm, the exhaust system takes a long time to heat up. If you need a glaring example, take a look at a condensing boiler flue on start up, you get clouds of steam on a cold day, then later it isn't as noticeable.

.) Ignition off, doors closed
2.) Hold the wiper switch in the full up position. (this is the wiper off position)
3.) While holding the wiper switch in the full up position, turn the IG on. (two presses of the start/stop switch)
4.) Hold wiper switch in the full up position for 5 seconds
5.) Move the wiper switch down one "click" or "notch", hold for 5 seconds
6.) Move the wiper switch back to the full up position, hold for 5 seconds
7.) Move the wiper switch down one "click" or "notch". hold for 5 seconds (same position as step 5)
8.) Move the wiper switch back to the rest position (neutral)
If this was done correctly, the right turn signal will flash once.
To adjust how many flashes you want, you change the intermittent wiper speed switch. P1 starts with the speed switch all the way at the bottom, P4 will be the top speed. This is found on the wiper stalk.
P1: 3 blinks
P2: 5 blinks
P3: 7 blinks
P4: Function turned off
Set the intermittent wiper speed to the desired setting.
Use the Turn Signal stalk and push down like you want to activate the left turn signal, the flashers should activate
If the turn signal blinks once, you change it to the "3 flashes" setting
If the turn signal blinks twice, you changed it to the "5 flashes" setting
If the turn signal blinks three times, you changed it to the "7 flashes" setting
If the turn signal blinks four times, you turned the function off.
Once this is done, cycle the ignition switch off, and back on, and it should be changed.I tried this today on my IS300h and it worked. I did try it a few weeks ago, but I got mixed up with the full up and one notch down positions, I was allowing the lever to go back to centre.
Thanks for the info. Now, all I need to know is how to get the car to move forward!

The police complain of budget cuts but they could make a grand a night in fines just on my estate for parking infringements!
The "grand a night" wouldn't go into the policing budget. We won't get a police force that's capable of enforcing everything until we increase their numbers, and we won't increase their numbers until we all step up to the mark and a). Pay the same income tax that we did in the 70's and b). Force some, or most businesses to pay their fair share.

Good God it beggars belief.
Maybe she really wanted a number plate that reflected her name and tendencies?
I struggle to believe that motoring journalists are so eager to put the Lexus down in comparison to the German "premium brands." I've owned three German cars and all of them have been seriously flawed. They are companies that are run by accountants, the lot of them. The problem being, the accountants provide the motoring press with luxury accommodation in the Alps with unlimited food and booze in exchange for a good review.

heheheheh that made me chuckle! all good invaluable stuff, I would be unlikely to go for a modified version unless they were sensible mods. My days of Carlos Fandango wide wheels & fury dice are well & truly over but I do feel i would be at home in an SC, i'm just wondering if it feels & drives similar to my GS? i suspect there are similarities but 'hey' thats a beautiful car too!
Was tempted by a 350slk but i suspect the ride is harsh, Z3 allthough sexy at the time a bit skitish for the middle aged gent, heres hoping I wont be dissapointed, being a huge Lexus fan I doubt I will! Thanks Neil!!
Do not buy an SLK, they rattle like hell, break suspension springs and the brake callipers seize regularly, it's the worst car we've ever owned. We went back to an MX5 very quickly. And BMW? Get another mortgage to cover parts failures and taxi journeys.

DO NOT use WD40 to lubricate anything. After a week or two it sets into a solid mass of crap which does not move. Use 3 in 1 oil or something silicone based (plastic to metal with silicone, never metal to metal). If metal to metal, try to get something graphite based. Oh, and graphite causes aluminium to pit, so use PTFE on that.
Complicated, but WD40 is only good for removing glue from stickers or Cellotape from windows after your wife stuck Christmas cards everywhere.
