    I considered purchasing an ISF whilst owning a IS300h and having a family. However prior to the 300h I owed a IS220d for 7 years and I couldn't bring myself to move back to an older interior and tech. Considered a GSF, but decided RCF was the car for me even with a missus and 2 kids. The final hurrdle was my partner fitting in the back, fortunately she did and a couple of months later my car was on the drive after 300 mile round trip to collect it 👍

    I drive different routes each week and average between 220-240 miles regardless of which fuel I use. My driving style probably doesn't help either and it's great some folk benefit from premium fuel, even if I don't 👍

    I appreciate old Japanese cars are more suited to 98+, however the RcF can run 95 without any issues and for me giving the engine a good thrash is better than any cleaning additive and much more fun!

    I've always use 95, the owners manual does state 98 but it also states 95 can be used with no detriment to durability or driveability. I did try 98+ fuels a few times and in everyday driving I noticed absolutely no difference in economy or performance vs 95. For me the price difference of 20p per litre just isn't worth it and I stick to 95.

    They take a while to get up to temperature and the first 2/3 stops require a firm press of the pedal. Brake dust is similar to reds, however I only drive at the weekends and they squeal (high pitch) even under light braking. They are a lot quieter than OEM pads though.

    I went from an IS300H F Sport to an RCF and haven't regretted the decision for one second. Go for it 👍

    Good luck, I travelled 150 miles to view the RCF I eventually purchased and this was after looking at 2 other RCFs within 60 miles of my house. You need to put the effort in as they don't turn up within a few miles of your location unless you are extremely lucky.

    The same experience for me and I've commented more than once that I no longer take the RCF on the motorway due to the need to manage exhaust drone especially on inclines. Comes into its own on country lanes 👍

    Tbh I no longer take my RCF on the motorway as the QS exhaust does my nut it when cruising at approx 80 mph. Every time I encounter an incline it drones like no tomorrow and I have to adjust my speed accordingly to remove the drone. Now I only drive it at the weekends and keep it high in the rev range to get the best out of the exhaust. I take the the diesel A Class every time I'm on the motorway. QS exhaust on the RCF removes the GT element of the car, however I'm glad I've got it, but it certainly isn't perfect by any stretch.

    Enjoy the exhaust, it's night and day compared to the stock exhaust. However it does drone and I have to get the speed just right on motorways to minise drone.

    I was only interested in a grey or blue RCF after viewing a grey one in person. Didn't purchase that particular car, but confirmed my thinking.

    Just checked the paperwork and it's mercury grey.

    I had them fitted by a local indy and the issue became apparent after a few weeks. TBH I can't be bothered with all the messing about of removing wheels and painting etc. I'm hoping they dull and become less noticeable overtime.

    To add the the topic, I purchased brembo discs for ~£80 each. No issue with performance, however they aren't treated and look a bit nasty, see picture. I don't ever recall seeing this with the Lexus discs which were removed, so I assume genuine Lexus discs are treated. To confirm the fronts look ok, the the rears look nasty and I'll be replacing them with genuine Lexus discs next time. EBC yellow stuff pads work a treat though! Very happy with them.

    I've just been quoted £380, clean licence and 9+ years ncb for my RCF.

    http://www.lex-tekautos.com/ are located in South Yorkshire. Haven't used them myself, however I've spoke to the owner on a couple of occasions and he was more than happy to service an RCF and confirmed he only uses genuine Lexus parts.
